Minneapolis, Minnesota’s EXTERMINATION DAY return with “Fill the Swamp,” a brand new single and official video offering another taste of their upcoming album, Forty Miles of Bad Road, due November 27, 2026, via Argonauta Records on CD, deluxe colored vinyl, and digital formats.
Blending the crushing heaviness of Trouble and The Obsessed with the raw aggression of Poison Idea, the crossover intensity of Blind-era Corrosion of Conformity, and the unpredictable energy of Die Kreuzen, EXTERMINATION DAY deliver their own distinctive brand of Hoss Rock: a volatile mix of punk, hard rock, doom metal, and garage rock, driven by crushing riffs and a healthy contempt for authority.
Taking aim at political hypocrisy and the corrupting influence of wealth, “Fill the Swamp” targets a member of the current US administration’s cabinet, turning familiar political rhetoric into a biting indictment of those who promise to clean up the system only to become part of the problem.
The band comments:
“This song is directed at a current US administration’s cabinet member; people can listen and take a guess as to who it is. More broadly, the theme of the song is about how wealth corrupts and how the US government is full of charlatans who promised to ‘drain the swamp’ and instead ended up filling it.”
Following the previously released “Ruse Cycle,” the new single sets the tone for an album that confronts institutional corruption, social disillusionment, and the absurdities of modern life with unfiltered aggression and dark humor.
Featuring current and former members of Suffering Hour, Satan’s Satyrs, and Kult of the Wizard, EXTERMINATION DAY bring their underground pedigree and uncompromising attitude to a record that embodies everything their self-proclaimed Hoss Rock stands for.

The band says:
“Forty Miles of Bad Road represents the path we are on as a species and our disdain towards employment, police, the government, war, and the state of the world in general. Influenced by a wide variety of styles including punk, hard rock, doom metal, and garage rock, as well as our own lived experiences and tongue-in-cheek humor, the album demonstrates a sound we’ve created which is reflective of our unwavering hoss rock spirit. Loud amps, facial hair, grim lyrics, undermining your boss, explosions, evading taxes, not trusting authority – every box is ticked. This album is a solid concrete slab of top notch rock that many credible music critics say is as groundbreaking and relevant as Deep Purple’s ‘In Rock’ or Whitesnake’s self-titled masterpiece.”
