FELINE MELINDA Celebrate 40th Anniversary with “Duets II” EP & Video for ‘Morning Dew’, Feat. Doris Albenberger

FELINE MELINDA release Duets II today, a new EP available digitally via Diotima Records and as a limited-edition CD digipak, available directly from the band.

To mark the release, the group also unveils the video for “Morning Dew”, the EP’s second single, featuring vocalist Doris Albenberger.

Originally released in 2008 on the band’s self-titled album, the song returns in a new duet version: more stripped-down and focused, almost like a radio edit, condensing the song’s essence into just over two minutes. Rob Irbiz and Doris Albenberger’s voices intertwine in a story about the awakening of love, as tender as the morning dew touched by the first rays of sunlight. The differences between the two lovers – “You are the night and I am the day…” – become part of the strength of their bond, leading to a universal message: “Live your life and live it free!” A celebration of freedom and of having the courage to let the people we love follow their own path.

With Duets II, FELINE MELINDA revisit the duet format first explored on their 2019 EP Duets, once again joined by Albenberger and her distinctive pop-rock voice. The new release features five songs from different periods of the band’s career. “More Than Ever” and “Morning Dew” have been re-recorded as new duet versions, while “Seventh Heaven”, “Seven Sins Seven Lies” and “Before The Dawn” return with renewed vocal arrangements.

The EP moves between heartfelt ballads, warm melodies and melodic hard rock. The interplay between Irbiz and Albenberger brings fresh nuances to the songs, while the guitar work of HeadMatt and Francesco Pinter highlights their melodies and memorable choruses. Exploring love, hope, freedom and the complexity of human relationships, Duets II takes listeners on an emotional journey that balances intimacy with an uplifting spirit.

The release of Duets II coincides with FELINE MELINDA’s 40th anniversary. Formed in South Tyrol in 1986, the band has shaped a distinctive identity by blending melodic hard rock, power metal, AOR and ballads. Duets II celebrates that history while offering new interpretations of songs from across the band’s catalogue.

Duets II was recorded, edited, mixed and mastered by Marco Ober and Sascha Paeth. The cover artwork was created by Rhett Podersoo.
