The line-up also features ANGRA (BRA), Tygers Of Pan Tang (UK), Virgin Steele (US) and Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory (ITA), among others.
The new Power & Steel Winter Festival, announced earlier this autumn, is adding more acts to the line-up for its inaugural edition. Taking place on 5–6 November 2027 at the Cable Factory (Kaapelitehdas) in Helsinki, the indoor festival has secured the legendary Uli Jon Roth. Following his years with Scorpions in the 1970s, Roth helped lay the foundations for neoclassical metal, a genre that would later influence power metal, one of the cornerstones of the Power & Steel Festival.
“It was a natural addition to our roster to bring in representatives of the first generation,” says promoter Niko Viherlaiho.

Among the other newly announced acts is Stormburner, representing the NWOTHM movement (New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal). The band’s debut album, Shadow Rising, was released in 2019, and the band has received acclaim from metal media around the world. Led by the outstanding vocalist Mike Stark, the Swedish band will make its first major-stage appearance in Finland.
“When you hear him sing, you can’t help wondering whether there’s any point in continuing with your own singing hobby,” Viherlaiho grins. He is also a member of the band Strider.
The third newly announced act is German power metal band Freedom Call, hailing from Nuremberg and originally formed in 1998. One of the enduring names in European power metal, the band released its latest album, Silver Romance, a couple of years ago. The band playfully describes its musical style as “Happy Metal” – something that will certainly be welcome during the dark Finnish November.
The festival has previously announced that the Cable Factory will host the Brazilian band ANGRA, finally making its Finnish debut, as well as British legends Tygers Of Pan Tang, who will also perform in Finland for the first time. The line-up also includes American heavy metal band Virgin Steele and Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory, featuring the Italian vocalist Fabio Lione, known for fronting numerous top-tier bands in the genre.
Other international acts joining the festival’s inaugural line-up include Boston-based symphonic metal band Seven Spires, Icelandic power metal outfit Power Paladin, celebrating its 10th anniversary next year, and Swedish band Insania, originally formed in 1992. The Finnish contingent will be represented by Metale De Facto, Dreamtale, Force Majeure and Strider.
Festivalgoers will also be able to enjoy a variety of food and drink options at the event. The remaining acts will be announced during the coming winter.
