British AOR quartet Powell-Payne are excited to announce that their new album, “Encore”, will be released on January 29, 2027, via Frontiers Music Srl.
The band also share the new track “I’ll Never Ask You Why”, along with a lyric video, available below.
Vocalist Adam Payne described the single as “a melodic, full-throttle track with a driving energy and a huge hook that grabs you from the first listen and refuses to let go.”
Pre-Order “Encore” HERE
With “Encore”, Powell-Payne deliver a sophisticated and highly melodic record that perfectly balances classic AOR craftsmanship with a fresh, contemporary edge. The album stands out for its carefully crafted arrangements, where every detail has been thoughtfully developed to enhance the songs without ever overshadowing their melodic core.
Adam Payne commented: “Our second album is a whole new level for us in terms of songwriting, power and direction. From the very first track, it’s motoring – full throttle from start to finish. It digs deeper into our sound, brings more of our blueprints to the forefront, and gives a real insight into the road we want to travel as a band. This record feels like a statement of intent: bigger, bolder, more focused, and a true reflection of where we’re heading.”
Beautifully produced and rich in sonic depth, “Encore” showcases a band at the top of its creative game, combining polished musicianship with an instinctive sense for memorable songwriting. The album is driven by powerful hooks and instantly engaging choruses, with occasional pop-infused touches adding an irresistible sense of accessibility and modernity.
From the first listen, “Encore” feels both classy and immediate: a record built on strong melodies, sophisticated arrangements and a production that allows every instrument to shine.
Formed in 2022 by Mark “Penfold” Powell (ex-drummer of Psycho Kiss) and Adam Payne (former vocalist of Airrace), Powell-Payne’s journey began with a single goal – to create a heartfelt song dedicated to their lost loved ones. Now, with a full band in place, this gives the band the opportunity to tour the album and play in as many places as they can.

The band released their debut album “Voilà” in December 2024 and, with this new record, they prove once again that AOR can be timeless while still sounding fresh, vibrant and relevant, creating a modern dress for this genre.
