Controversial Swedish metal band SHINING and Canadian chaos extremists REVENGE have announced a North American tour. The “No More Safe Space” tour begins on May 5 in Baltimore and runs until May 24. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.
The “No Safe Space Tour” will be SHINING’s first North American headlining tour and also REVENGE’s first tour since their appearance on 2015’s epic ‘Black Metal Warfare’ tour.
SHINING are touring in support of ‘IX – Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends’. An epic, unmissable beast of an album, ‘IX – Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends’ delivers nothing less than a lethal dose of perception-shattering madness from one of black metal’s most polarizing bands. Stream the album here.
REVENGE will set the USA ablaze touring in support of their newest album, ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’ ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’ is arguably the most fervent release and a manifesto of rejection – rejection of the groundswell of mediocrity within the scene, rejection of compromise as a means of embracing of a wider audience, rejection of the dogma and strictures of religion and the trappings of the feeble social slave. ‘Behold.Total.Rejection’ is a torrential barrage of relentless animosity. No scene. No brotherhood. No remorse. The album is streaming in full here.

Since their inception, GHOST BATH has played atmospheric black metal focused on depression, tragedy, purgatory, and earthly wonders. »Starmourner« – the second record of a trilogy – takes these concepts to a higher level. It explores joy instead of sorrow, paradise instead of purgatory, and the cosmos instead of earth. Most importantly however, it explores ecstasy — instead of tragedy — as its basic human emotion. With over seventy-two minutes of heavy, melodic, and dramatic black metal, it is GHOST BATH’s most ambitious undertaking yet.
GHOST BATH refers to the act of committing suicide by submerging in a body of water. The band writes and creates under the assumption that music is an extension of one’s own soul. They journey through the sorrow and sadness that all lives experience, but leave a glimmer of hope. They portray both deep anguish and angelic soundscapes that are sure to leave an impression on the listener. The band started in October of 2013 with the release of their self-titled EP on Solitude Productions. This was followed by their debut album titled, »Funeral«, which was released on Pest Productions in June of 2014. The band’s sophomore album, »Moonlover«, was released in April of 2015 through Northern Silence Productions. A reissue was released by Nuclear Blast Entertainment in June of 2016.
Swedish classic/progressive rock supergroup THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA (featuring members of SOILWORK and ARCH ENEMY) have revealed the cover artworks for the forthcoming third studio album, “Amber Galactic”, which is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017 via Nuclear Blast.
Singer Björn Strid states: ““Amber Galactic” is a relationship drama set in space, the first classic rock space opera on double vinyl. As seasoned musicians, we’re taking this project seriously, although we might come across as slightly retrofuturistic at times, there’s no irony involved. It’s just us trying to shape our future into a place where our race is led by female space commanders with pearl necklaces and a quasar sense of gravity. »Amber Galactic« is about setting free from genre boundaries and expectations that are put on people like us. We just want to create music that we would like to hear ourselves, but that isn’t only for us.
THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA is here to set you free, to invite you to enjoy music in whatever form it is presented. For this particular journey, we’d like you to follow us into space, but who knows where we’ll go next! After entering the NFO universe, you won’t ever be the same!”
“Amber Galactic” will be available as limited edition digipak CD featuring an alternate cover art, 2LP vinyl (black and violet sparkle) and as digital download and stream via all known platforms.
The tracklist for “Amber Galactic” reads as follows:
01. Midnight Flyer
02. Star Of Rio
03. Gemini
04. Sad State Of Affairs
05. Jennie
06. Domino
07. Josephine
08. Space Whisperer
09. Something Mysterious
10. Saturn In Velvet
11. Just Another Night BONUS TRACK (limited edition digipak, vinyl)
12. Fly Tonight (Never Rewind) BONUS TRACK (Japan only)
When asked about the direction of NFO within the realm of classic rock, Strid explains with a chuckle: “Most other classic rock bands sound like weed or LSD – we sound like cocaine.”
“Amber Galactic” was recorded at Handsome Hard Studio in Lund, Sweden. The album follows THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA‘s two previous releases, 2012’s »Internal Affairs« and 2015’s »Skyline Whispers«.
The legendary progressive rockers PENDRAGON return with their brand new live release entitled “Masquerade 20”. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of the most successful albums in their career – an album that won them near-overwhelming acclaim and made them one of the highest-selling bands unsigned to a major label at that time – the band returned to the Wyspianski Theatre in Katowice, Poland in May 2016 to record a special show, consisting of all the classics from “The Masquerade Overture” as well as a number of fan-favourites from their other releases.
Live version of the song “Faces of Light” is now available here:
Nick Barrett, guitarist and vocalist: “This dvd is probably the most cohesive performance from the band so far captured on film. Just as we have been together for so many years as musicians it shows us as friends as well, even with new boy, Vinnie our drummer and Verity and Tina on backing vocals who appear for the first time with us on DVD. The overall feel of the music and performance is fantastic and the sound is amazing.”
The cover artwork was done by Björn Gooßes – Killustrations, know also for the band’s previous artworks : “Pure”, “Passion”, “Men Who Climb Mountains” and “Out of Order Comes Chaos” DVD.
The DVD will also include an interview with Peter Gee and Jan-Vincent Velazco, photo gallery and other extras.
“Masquerade 20” DVD is scheduled for release, via Metal Mind Productions, on April, 7th (May 5th in USA). Also available as a double CD.

Poland’s death/black metal masters AZARATH have revealed a second new song in anticipation of their upcoming album “In Extremis”, due out April 7th via Agonia Records. Listen to the track “Annihilation (Smite All the Illusions)” here:
Earlier the band premiered the song “At The Gates Of Understanding” in the form of a lyric video, accessible here:
Touted as a “demonic mutation of Krisiun and Behemoth with shades of Immolation”, AZARATH stand up to their wicked name. The band’s death metal is crisp, black, and while it possesses the charm of their American counterparts, it remains open-minded and organic. This should not come as a surprise, considering the AZARATH‘s impressive line-up and cemented position as one the the best Polish acts of the genre. The band was formed in 1998 by drummer Inferno (of Behemoth fame). He’s accompanied by Bart (Armagedon, Damnation) on guitars, Necrosodom (Anima Damnata, Deus Mortem, ex-Infernal War) on vocals and guitars, as well as Peter (ex-Lost Soul) on bass.
Meaning “at the point of death” or “under extreme circumstances” in Latin, “In Extremis” is yet another apex reached by AZARATH. Offering a vehement ride through the netherworlds, the effort places the band back at the fore of the genre, with strong ties to the group’s early cult albums. The eerie painting that adorns the album’s cover was made by Marta Promińska (Hypnagogic Painting).
Recorded in various locations between March and November 2016, “In Extremis” was mixed and mastered by Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio. Graphic design and layout were done by Mentalporn (Behemoth, Origin, Decapitated) with calligraphy provided by Ihasan Art and additional work by Holy Poison Design.
Following the album’s release, AZARATH will play at Inferno Festival (Norway) and Party.San Open Air Festival (Germany). The record release show will take place in Warsaw (Poland).
