US power metal masters ICED EARTH present you “Seven Headed Whore”, the very first single of the band’s upcoming album “Incorruptible”. The band also announced that they will release the second single tomorrow, April 29th 2017.
At this moment, iconic UK metallers, PARADISE LOST, are putting the final touches to their upcoming album, recorded at Orgone Studios in the misty countryside of Woburn, England. Together with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano, they have forged the follow-up to their highly acclaimed release “The Plague Within” (2015), which brought them a step closer to their death metal roots. This time, PARADISE LOST will haunt their fans with a heavy, doom-ridden monster, as lead guitarist and songwriter Greg Mackintosh reveals:
“The new album will be slower, sludgier and more doom filled than ever before. Eight riff laden monster tracks of sheer Northern misery.”
This 15th studio album will see the light of day at the end of summer via Nuclear Blast and is entitled “Medusa”. As some might know, Medusa is considered a hideous Gorgon in Greek mythology – a winged female monster with living venomous snakes in place of hair and everyone who dares taking a look at her will immediately turn to stone!
Heavy metal pioneers ACCEPT just finished an extensive European tour – and they are immediately back in the game with a new studio album! The record entitled “The Rise Of Chaos”, will be unleashed on August 4th, 2017. The band’s 4th studio release through Nuclear Blast will continue the tradition of its three predecessors, “Blood Of The Nations”, “Stalingrad”, and “Blind Rage”, with grandeur and precision.
And if this wasn’t enough, ACCEPT will celebrate the album’s live premiere exclusively on August 3rd, on the day before its release, as a part of a special show at Wacken Open Air, Germany. The set will consist of three parts, which represent the band’s creative power:
Part 1 will bring fans a classic ACCEPT set, packed with new and old hits.
Part 2 will present another premiere: Wolf Hoffmann will be playing tracks from his solo album “Headbangers Symphony”, released in 2016, with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra for the very first time. On this record, Wolf has covered famous opuses by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Mozart, in a metal guise.
And in Part 3, all elements can be seen and heard together: ACCEPT will make the holy Wacken ground shake by sharing the stage with the orchestra, supported by a complex multimedia show.
This unique concert experience will take place on this year’s “Night To Remember” which makes it even more special. The “Night To Remember” is a celebrated, long-lasting Wacken tradition; for one night of the festival a selection of established bands will do something unique and special with their performance.
Wolf Hoffmann stated: “It’s always impressive to see how bands take this evening seriously and how much love the artists and the organising team put into their work to get a varied result. It’s a great tradition which underlines and documents the top-notch level of the international rock community like nothing else. We also want to present something that ACCEPT has never done before, we hope we can give something really special to the fans.”
“ACCEPT have been and are still a very important part of Germany’s heavy metal scene. We’re really looking forward to having them with us once more. With this epic concept, the Thursday evening will be one to remember for sure,” stated Thomas Jensen, organiser of Wacken Open Air.
THRESHOLD have parted ways with vocalist Damian Wilson. The band have chosen to start a new chapter without him and he has told them he respects their decision.
Wilson enjoyed three stints with THRESHOLD, performing on the band’s most recent records “For The Journey” and “March Of Progress” as well as their early releases “Wounded Land” and “Extinct Instinct” in the 1990’s. Damian Wilson has been a great frontman for THRESHOLD and the band would like to sincerely thank him and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
THRESHOLD‘s new frontman will be Glynn Morgan, the band’s former vocalist from 1994 to 1996. Morgan appeared on THRESHOLD‘s 1994 album “Psychedelicatessen” and returned to work with the band in 2008 to record tracks for the singles box set “Paradox”.
Glynn Morgan commented: “I was over the moon when I got the phone call. To work with Karl and Richard and be a part of the mighty THRESHOLD story once more is a great honour. I can’t wait to start recording, the new material has me hooked already.”
You can watch Glynn Morgan in action with THRESHOLD in their 1994 video ‘Innocent’ here:
THRESHOLD are currently at Thin Ice Studios recording their 11th album “Legends Of The Shires” due for release in the autumn. The band’s European tour kicks off in November with support from DAMNATION ANGELS and DAY SIX.

Euronews reported that Roger Waters, the co-founder of musical rock n’ roll group Pink Floyd, said the group’s cult album “The Wall” is more relevant now given Donald Trump’s US presidency than ever before.
Waters, 73, made the comment during a rare public appearance in London to promote “Pink Floyd, Their Mortal Remains”, an exhibition which will feature memorabilia and archived footage of the band as it celebrates its 50-year career.
Waters, who was joined by drummer Nick Mason, said he was prepared to consider performing the album in concert along the US-Mexico border, where US President Trump has vowed to build a wall in an effort to fight illegal immigration and protect the United States’ sovereignty.
“But before this can happen, there will first need to be an awakening against these far-right policies,” Waters said to AFP. “The sewers are engorged by greedy and powerful men as I speak to you.”
This was not the first time Waters has taken a swipe at the US President.
In Mexico City in October, during a concert performance on Zocalo Square, Pink Floyd displayed images of the then-Republican presidential candidate with “Charade” written across the front. They appeared during a performance of the song “Pigs (Three Different Ones). Subsequent images of Trump appeared with “Joker” emblazoned on huge screens. In one image Trump appears to be doing a Nazi salute.
There, children appearing on stage wearing anti-border wall slogans sang along to one of the The Wall’s signature songs Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2.
Finnish metallers, BATTLEBEAST, are set to release their 4th studio album, “Bringer Of Pain”, on February 17th through Nuclear Blast Records. I recently had an interview with Noora Louhimo, to speak about their forthcoming album, tour and more news from the band. Several excerpts of this interview can be read below:
To start the chat, I asked Noora how she is feeling about this album:
“Very relieved because we got it done in time and it turned out pretty good, so we are very happy. We hope that everybody is gonna like it, or most of the people are gonna like it, so that we can continue doing this as a job.”
The music style of the band in “Bringer Of Pain” seems to be changed, it sounds more like a pop/rock/metal album than a heavy/power metal one. So I asked her if it was because of the change in the line up, she stated:
“I don’t know about that, but in Battle Beast it has always been that we have various kinds of songs and when Anton was aboard, he did ‘Touch In The Night’ and that wasn’t such a heavy metal song.
In Battle Beast, the thing is to do different kinds of music and not to get stuck in some certain kind of heavy metal style.”
I was interested to know about her personal influences as a vocalist as indeed it is her voice and style of singing that makes this album sounds more like metal music;
“I have a lot of different influences – my first idol was Whitney Houston. For example, Janis Joplin was the reason I found the rasp in my voice and Bruce Dickinson is the reason I wanna do best as a performer on stage. And Ronnie James Dio, his way of interpreting songs is a very good example for me.”
We continued to talk about this album and I asked Noora who is really the bringer of pain?
“Bringer Of Pain is actually a character in the song. I actually created a new fantasy world called Glow It was the easiest song that was born, that is the best situation for songwriting. The character is a female kind of warlord and heiress of the kingdom of the …. and her story will definitely continue on the next album.”
Today, almost everybody is talking about Donald Trump, his comments, decisions …etc. So before finishing this interview I asked Noora‘s opinion about him, her answer as you can read below made me think and become worried, if these new policies of the U.S.A government are going to affect the work of artists around the world who think different;
“Well actually, what I’ve decided, I can’t comment because that can affect the band in a negative way, so I can’t comment about politics or whatever. I’m a very open person and I hope that people are treated equally, no matter the gender or the religion or your skin colour and that is my point of view.”
As the final question, I asked Noora if she has ever felt any discrimination during her career as a female vocalist,
“No, I’ve always been taken very well and people have been very respectful and people have liked that I’m a female singer in a heavy metal band.”
