Danish death metallers DEUS OTIOSUS have been confirmed as the last act to complete the line-up for this year’s Copenhell festival in Denmark. Tak Rock – an initiative by Danish brewery Royal Beer – hosted a vote between DEUS OTIOSUS and one other Danish metal act, to let fans decide the final band for the festival. DEUS OTIOSUS won the competition with more than 1400 votes.
COPENHELL is Denmark’s biggest metal festival and takes place June 13th – 15th. This year’s installment will feature the likes of KING DIAMOND, ACCEPT, DANZIG, TESTAMENT and many more.
DEUS OTIOSUS have released their newest album, “Godless” via Deepsend Records.
According to Century Media Records, FIREWIND, Greece’s leading metal band spearheaded by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., will be releasing a new live album entitled “Apotheosis – Live 2012” on June 24th, 2013 via Century Media Records in Europe and on July 24th, 2013 via Marquee Records in japan, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the band in style.
A first song from “Apotheosis – Live 2012” has been launched online via the website of Germany’s Classic Rock Magazine.

The 17 songs featured on this powerful sounding live-release were recorded at special anniversary shows in Greece as well as all over Europe during the band’s “Few Against Many” tour in 2012 and comes with a playing time of 69 minutes, featuring a great overview of the band’s 7-albums spanning career so far as well as quite a different tracklisting than 2008’s “Live Premonition” release. “Apotheosis – Live 2012” also marks the final FIREWIND release with longterm singer Apollo Papathanasio, who left the band by the end of last year. He has ever since been be replaced by Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Adagio, Beyond Twilight) as session frontman for all 2013 live-activities.
The cover artwork for “Apotheosis – Live 2012”, which will be released as Digipak in its first limited edition pressing, was designed by FIREWIND’s longtime partner in all design matters including the band’s latest studio album release “Few Against Many” (2012), Gustavo Sazes / abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, Angra, Dream Evil, etc.) based on live photography by Hans-W. Rock.

Swedish guitar hero Yngwie Malmsteen has been announced as headliner for Dubai Rock Fest on 7th of June. Metal Shock Finland‘s Chief Editor, Mohsen Fayyazi has recently conducted a short interview with Yngwie for the Middle Eastern Metal webzine, Jorzine.
When asked his thoughts on Ronnie James Dio, Yngwie answered:
“Ronnie was a dear friend for almost thirty years, and I can say without a doubt that he was the greatest rock singer of all time”
Yngwie stated the following when he was asked what skills must a guitarist have to play faster than the speed of light:
“There are many elements to keep in mind, but at the root of all of them is this: you must make every note count, slow or fast.”

Formed back in 1992 by Morten Shax under the original name of Dim Nagel, Shax changed the name to ENDEZZMA in 2007 after recruiting Trondr Nefas and transforming the band into what it is today. ENDEZZMA’s first release, the “Alone” MCD, appeared five years ago, and the 2012 release of the full length album “Erotik Nekrosis” on Agonia Records on the 28th November in Europe (5th February in the USA), was delayed by a series of setbacks, culminating in the tragic and untimely death of Nefas earlier this year. The line up on the album includes Morten Shax on vocals, Trondr Nefas (Urgehal, Beastcraft, Vulture Lord) and Thomas Myrvold (Vulture Lord) on guitars, Sregroth (Urgehal, Åsmegin) on bass, Jarle Uruz Byberg (Urgehal, ex-Shining) on drums and L.F.Frøislie (Wobbler, In Lingua Mortua) on synth.
According to Agonia Records, French death/black metallers TEMPLE OF BAAL are currently giving the final touches to their fourth album. The recording sessions are taking place in Hybreed Studios with Andrew Guillotin (Glorior Belli). The new recording will consist of ten tracks with a running time of about one hour, and shall be released by Agonia Records in the fall of 2013.

Ukrainian metallers HELL:ON have recently announced the title of their upcoming album which would be entitled “The Hunt.” Also the band have announced that VADER guitarist Marek “Spider” Pajak has recently recorded guitar solo parts for the new Hell:on album. Now band finishing recording in T.A. Productions.
The album will be released on this fall by newborn European label. According to Metal Scrap records, Andy LaRocque (King Diamond, Death) also became special guest on the HELL:ON‘s new album.
