FIREWIND Release Music Video for Brand New Single ‘Destiny Is Calling’

Following their latest, self-titled album (2020, AFM Records), today, FIREWIND have shared a music video for brand new single “Destiny Is Calling”!

In more than two decades, the iconic band founded by exceptional guitarist Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil) enthralls heavy music fans with their exciting blend of hard rock and power metal. Razor-sharp riffs, big hooks and solos meet the incredible vocal skills of charismatic singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Radiant, Seventh Avenue, amongst others), who joined the band in 2019.

While FIREWIND are currently on an extensive tour all over Europe (find all upcoming dates below!), they have just unleashed their hard rocking, new single “Destiny Is Calling”. Gus G comments:

“As we’re out on a massive 42-date European tour w/ Beast in Black, we thought it’d be a good time to finally give you guys some new Firewind music. We’ve been testing the new track live every night and the reception has been phenomenal.

The video was filmed on February 11th in Munich at Tonhalle in front of 2.000 screaming metalheads and we feel it captures the energy and mood of the song.

Metal songwriter, producer and keyboardist ADRIAN BENEGAS has released his new single and video “Orphan of Life”. The soaring symphonic metal track features FIREWIND vocalist Herbie Langhans, and the production skills of Benegas together with renowned producer Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Kamelot, Rhapsody, Epica, etc). 

Throughout the second half of 2020 during the pandemic of COVID19, Adrian’s been busy working and producing new songs together with vocalist Herbie Langhans, who was also the lead singer on his debut album, The Revenant. This time around, Adrian has also teamed up with producer Sascha Paeth. “Orphan Of Life” is the first single of the upcoming production to be revealed, with more tracks being released in the coming months.

Benegas explains that, “It’s a song to rage out and get all the anger out at those who tried to break our spirits”. “Orphan of Life” is the anthem for the outsiders, for the ones that never truly fit in, like me. You should funnel that anger and negative energy to fuel your heart and desire to stand up and to climb even higher. Instead of feeling down, we should remember to use that pain to unleash the fighter inside us. We all have it!” 

Benegas is known for being the founder of symphonic metal act Tragul, as well as his debut solo album The Revenant. On these productions he has worked with numerous world class musicians and producers including Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Henning Basse (Metallium, Mayan), Zuberoa Aznarez (Diabulus in Musica), Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody of Fire), Oliver Holzwarth (Blind Guardian, Tarja), producer Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Volbeat, Epica), and producer Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Sonata Arctica).

Greek power metallers FIREWIND have updated fans with not only news of a new album, but also major line-up changes. Read the full statement from the band below:

A NEW CHAPTER OF FIREWIND

“Dear friends & supporters,

We’ve been pretty quiet about the new album but we’ll cut right to the chase.

After many years, Bob Katsionis is stepping down from the ongoing touring lifestyle and focus on his work as a producer / studio engineer as well as his own projects.
We’ve also parted ways with Henning Basse due to personal reasons that will prevent him from completing the upcoming album touring cycle and continuing with the band overall.

We thank them both for their time and contributions to Firewind. There’s absolutely no bad blood here, the guys are part of our legacy and we wish them best of luck for the future.

While this was a big challenge for us, it is a change that needed to happen in order for the band to continue. This is a rebirth of Firewind and a new chapter in our musical history.

At the same time we’d like to welcome new singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, x- Sinbreed).
Herbie is a hell of a singer and his powerful style breathes new life on our new material but also on our back catalogue.

He recently completed the vocals for our 9th studio album which is due later this year.

We’re very excited to finally reveal the upcoming album and share the new sounds with you! Stay tuned as more announcements coming real soon!”

New Jersey’s progressive metal masters SYMPHONY X are delighted to announce their “25th Anniversary North American tour 2020”! The 28 date trek will kick off in Englewood, NJ on May 14th and make stops in Montreal, Cleveland and Austin before concluding on June 17th at The Masquerade in Atlanta. Joining the band as special guests are their label mates PRIMAL FEAR – who are currently recording their new studio album – and FIREWIND!

SYMPHONY X comments, “We are extremely excited to celebrate this milestone in our career! The shows in Europe and South America were incredible last year and we can’t wait to share that with our amazing US fans in 2020! We are truly excited to have both PRIMAL FEAR and FIREWIND on this tour to celebrate 25 years of a true musical journey! Best known for working with the rock bands FIREWIND, TAINTED NATION and HELLOWEEN, and filling in for SCORPIONS at the Grand Prix in Bahrain on 5th April 2014, MARK CROSS, groovy and hard-hitting veteran drummer launches a new adventure.

The line-up is selected from the league of past band mates, a powerful team of world class players to represent Mark’s work; a ‘best of works’ from his collaborations with bands and artists on stage and in the studio, past to present, with a perfect setlist for a spectacular show.

Mark says: “This whole thing is brand new and has already gained great feedback. In brief, after a long pause it is time to get back on stage and play for ya! Playing music live nowadays means much, much more than burning thousands of pounds for recording and throwing a new production on the market that never really reaches the masses.”

He continues: “This show is not only about drumming, of course it plays a major role, but is mainly focused on the music, good playing and performance. Every involved musician?s talent will make this a great sounding and unforgettable experience. It is great to work with top musicians, who have also been involved with all these bands and projects.
