Swedish dark metal act THE VICE has unleashed its brand new 5 track EP “A Great Unrest” via Noble Demon. To celebrate the release in a fitting manner, the band has released a music video for the track “From The Barricades”.
THE VICE about the song: “Sometimes rock ‘n’ roll shouldn’t be more complicated than one middle finger and zero f*cks to give. And that’s what “From The Barricades” is all about. It’s punk song cast in our blackened mold of ferocious rock and die-hard metal, accelerating all the way until the very end. Nothing more, nothing less, but one hell of a ride..“
Following the success of their latest full-length album, “Dead Canary Run” (2024, Noble Demon), THE VICE embarked on an exciting journey to create a series of EPs. The addition of Joel Öhman, a long-time collaborator, has transformed the band into a finely-tuned quartet, enriching their sound with fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.
The first offering from this new chapter, “A Great Unrest”, has this growth on full display, amplifying every inch of the foundation made of blackened metal, ambient pop and unbridled rock’n’roll.
The five tracks – three new ones, a cover of “1 Sun” by Miley Cyrus and a rearranged version of “Welcome The Storm” from the latest album – were recorded in the fall of 2024 at Studio Underjord (Skraeckoedlan, Magna Carta Cartel, Haystack among others) in rural Sweden.
Fresh off of writing and recording a full album, this EP was the perfect way to musically break the “limitations” that can come when working to create a really unified piece of art. And while it wasn’t exactly Fantomas-levels of diverse tracks, sound engineer and owner of the studio, Joona Hassinen really pulled his ‘A’ game giving it a coherent sound. “A Great Unrest” sounds a bit lighter, yet more harsh than “Dead Canary Run” with an electrified, distorted tension running throughout.

As the release of ELUVEITIE’s new album ÀNV approaches the band release today their uplifting new single ‘Awen‘. The track sees the bands more traditional instrumentation at the forefront, shining a spot light on the Celtic roots buried within ELUVEITIE’s core. The new album Ànv, will be released onApril 25th, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records. After the headliner tour was a great success, ELUVEITIE returns to the stage in October 2025, together with ARCH ENEMY, AMORPHIS and GATECREEPER. All dates are listed below.
ELUVEITIE frontman Chrigel Glanzmann comments: “AWEN is musically perhaps one of the album’s catchiest songs… sticking our necks out on pretty modern metal music, at the same time with a chorus coming in with that very traditional, mystically melancholic, solemn kind of ‘grandeur’, much like older Eluveitie songs such as OF FIRE, WIND & WISDOM, SLANIA’S SONG or ALESIA. Lyrically it time-travels some fairly bold lines off that several thousand years old mythological text ANV is based on, into the modern age and makes them speak directly to us and our modern civilizations! We’re really happy with and proud of it and we hope you’ll like it as much as we do!”
British death metal legends, BENEDICTION, have released yet another single from their upcoming new studio album, Ravage Of Empires, which is due to be released on April 4, 2025, via Nuclear Blast Records.
‘Crawling Over Corpses‘ is a ferocious up-tempo banger, which transports the band’s old school roots into the here and now while destroying everything that stands in its way. Dave Ingram’s primal growls have never sounded more vicious, and the rhythm section fires on all cylinders with a barrage of riffs and massive breakdowns. Alongside the single, another fiercely entertaining music video has been released, which you can watch below.
Ravage Of Empires is available for pre-order on CD, LP and as digital album.

May 2nd will see iconic dark metal pioneers CREMATORY release their much-awaited, new studio album, “Destination”, via ROAR. Coming on CD, colored 2-LP Vinyl (incl. 4 bonus-Tracks), 3-CD Earbook (feat. the regular album, 4-track bonus CD, album on instrumental versions + a 48-page booklet), an exclusive 18-CD bundle (new album, exclusive remix album + all 16 previous albums) and in digital formats, the album pre-sale is now available at https://crematory.rpm.link/destialbumpr
Following a previously-released, first single, the epic album title track, today, CREMATORY are premiering a music video for their latest single “Welt Aus Glas” (German for “world of glass”). The band says, it’s “an electronic, danceable EBM song in the style of our electro hit “Shadowmaker” or “Tick Tack”, combined with fat guitars and driving drums. A song that gets stuck in your head and that you can sing along to after just one listen. Once again a brilliant club hit ala CREMATORY hitfabrik, just like the band has been known for decades.”
In the more than three decades of their existence, CREMATORY have seen trends come and go, while always staying true to their trademarks, they belong to one of Germany’s most distinctive gothic metal pioneers to date. Following their latest studio offering, “Inglorious Darkness” (2022), CREMATORY will now return with their 17th studio album, “Destination”, that sees the iconic band reach new and even higher levels than ever before! Literally combining all the strengths and phases of the gothic metal pioneers, going back to their melodic death metal roots in places, diving deep into the gothic realm again but also surprising listeners, “Destination” will mark a triumphant return to the past combined with the strengths of the present.
“The new studio album ‘Destination’ is an ingenious mix of the 90s gothic metal times like ‘Illusions’, combined with hard melodic death metal hymns like ‘Act Seven’ and modern electronic songs with German lyrics in the style of ‘Revolution’. More is not possible“, drummer Markus Jüllich recently said and added: ”With ‘Destination’ the new standard of the modern melodic gothic metal era is determined! The previous album “Inglorious Darkness” was the start of Felix singing all the songs on his own again and now we’ve managed a perfect precision landing with “Destination”!”
CREMATORY sound highly motivated, they are upping the ante and definitely still have a lot to say even after 34 years of a successful band history! In support of “Destination”, CREMATORY will embark on an album release tour kicking off on May 1st, find all upcoming dates listed below!

Following the announcement of their blistering new album, “Obliterated Life”, legendary French death-grinders PUTRID OFFAL have unleashed their latest single “Boning Hall”.
“When you are the surgeon of the Napoleonic army, your country hospital can quickly host an accumulation of bodies, limbs and organs. Here’s the sticky atmosphere of ‘Boning Hall’, the second single of ‘Obliterated Life’. Let the scalpel penetrate your flesh! Stay Putrid”.
“Obliterated Life” is set for release on April 11th 2025 via Time To Kill Records. Prepare for an onslaught of sonic butchery!
Following their critically acclaimed 2020 album “Sicknesses Obsessions”, which delved into the origins of pathology and the story of Vesalius, PUTRID OFFAL now take their visceral storytelling to the brutal world of 18th-century war medicine. “Obliterated Life” explores the grim reality of battlefield surgery through the lens of Dominique-Jean Larrey (1766–1842), a pioneering military surgeon who revolutionised battlefield medicine. Amidst the carnage of war, Larrey worked relentlessly on the frontlines, amputating limbs, extracting bullets, and suturing bowels in an environment drenched in blood and the stench of septic flesh. This harrowing narrative sets the stage for a merciless auditory experience.
Tracklist:
1 – The Sweet Fragrance 2 – Boning Hall 3 – Life Consumed 4 – Meat Stall 5 – Entrails Emancipation 6 – Privilege Of Pain 7 – Darkness Awaits 8 – Sanguis In Oris 9 – Mass Murder 10 – Agony Prevails 11 – Messy Flesh 12 – Ribcage Blues 13 – The Black Veil
Extirpated from the crepitating bowels of the surging death/grind scene of the early nineties, France’s PUTRID OFFAL became a cult act with their first platter of splatter, released in 1991 by Wimp Records (LP) and Adipocere Records (CD). However, the band gradually dissolved in formaldehyde by the middle of the decade.
But that is not dead which sleeps, and the beast came alive again 25 years later, delivering a renewed vision of their art with the release of their proper debut album, “Mature Necropsy”, in 2015. This was followed by countless European tours and appearances at festivals, including their iconic 2017 performance at the world-famous Hellfest, captured live for a bonus DVD accompanying their second full-length, “Sicknesses Obsessions” (2020). Another trail of devastation across Europe soon followed.
PUTRID OFFAL deliver old-school death grind deeply inspired by the early works of Carcass (“Reek of Putrefaction”, “Symphonies of Sickness”, “Necroticism”) and the initial death metal phase of Napalm Death (“Harmony Corruption”, “Utopia Banished”). With these ingredients, the band has crafted a solid and unmistakable foundation for their sound.
With “Obliterated Life”, PUTRID OFFAL add their own distinct touch, shaped by over three decades of studio work and artistic evolution. This new album represents the pinnacle of their career: a sonic butchery, powerful, filthy and brutal. Everything is in place to wound, crush and leave a lasting impact.
Izzy Reign‘s new track “Lite-Brite“, which premiered at Outburn Magazine, draws from personal experiences of finding solace in music and colorful lights during tough, isolated times. Blending the nostalgic sound of 90s/early 2000s techno with deep, dark emotions, Reign creates a contrast between uplifting melodies and the hidden pain behind them. The song is a journey through past struggles, offering a message of growth by confronting and working through old wounds, encouraging listeners to acknowledge their pain in order to heal and move forward.
“This song is written from the standpoint of experiences in my own life. Where the only thing that got me through several, tough, isolated situations growing up, was playing music as loud as possible and surrounding myself with beautiful colorful lights. A hyper focus of the two combined helped ignore any of the issues that I did not want to face in that time. My hidden place. I wanted to bring the same sensation of how my experiences were. Heavily playing with one of the only music styles I listened to at the time, the combination of 90s/ early 2000s techno and also the dark emotion that I kept to myself. Most people may not notice but most EDM songs at the time all carried sad stories but portrayed such innocent and beautiful melodies that made you feel happy, regardless of what the song was actually about, and I really wanted to bring that back into my current music catalog. Writing this one was definitely an emotional rollercoaster for me. Haha, Forcing myself to re-live and feel sad for my child self, and also incredibly angry for them. It is a lot to take on but important to work through these things to get past them. I hope that by putting these out in the open, I can encourage people to work through their broken foundations , and be able to grow into the better version of themselves. That it is okay and healthy to acknowledge pain in your past, and that it is necessary in order to move forward.” – Izzy Reign
Izzy Reign has announced her self-titled debut album ‘Izzy Reign‘ is available for pre-order and will be out on March 21, 2025 from FiXT.
Emerging from the shadows and into the spotlight, Izzy Reign has crafted an electrifying collection of tracks that push boundaries into a compelling and emotionally charged sonic experience. This debut record is a culmination of Izzy’s raw power and genre-defying artistry, reflecting personal struggles, societal critiques, and a hauntingly raw beautiful dive into the human psyche. Boundaries will be crossed, genres will be pushed, crushed, and turned inside out. All hail the Queen.
Each track, an artistic blending of metalcore, alternative metal, and hard rock, stands as a testament to her ability to seamlessly merge brutal instrumentals with atmospheric elements, making this album a must-listen for fans of innovative rock and metal. From “Your Entertainer” a concept track tackling the mental toll of fame to “Into Oblivion” inspired by the Egyptian goddess Ammit, this alternative pop-metal track delves into Izzy’s personal struggles with religious-induced OCD and intrusive thoughts. “Pandora’s Box” is a dichotic experience of chaos and introspection drifting between sensual to brutal. “The Sunken Place” is inspired from the psychological horror movie Get out, exploring manipulation and survival instincts through a raging soundscape. The electrifying album manages to capture the essence of various genres while smashing through each and ultimately bending them to her will. No subject is too small, no corner of humanity too dark. ‘Izzy Reign’ is a deep dive into not just her own struggles but humanity’s as well.
Bold. Eclectic. Rebellious. Izzy Reign thrives on originality and thinking outside the box. Her music is nothing short of a reflection of this. She grew up singing to Alanis Morissette, Jewel, and Madonna. Inspired by Enter Shikari’s music video “Sorry You Are Not A Winner” and the musical stylings of Imogen Heap, Izzy took the plunge into the industry and played her first live show when she was 15 years old.
Since then she’s taken a deeper dive into production, songwriting and performing, working with a variety of artists that come through the production house she shares with producers Jon Eberhard (I Prevail, Skillet, Sleeping With Sirens) and Nick Matzkows (Wind Walkers, Until I Wake, ENMY, Attack! Attack!). Over the past four years she has released a myriad of covers, originals and music videos on her YouTube channel racking up millions of views. She has received notable attention for her popular The Nightmare Before Christmas cover of “This Is Halloween”, which has over 10 million streams across Spotify and YouTube along with 73,200 videos using the sound on TikTok.
In 2023 Izzy came to the attention of the US-based record label FiXT, through the discovery of her independent release, “Broken By Design”, which showcased a new edge to Izzy’s sound. Signing on for a multi-album deal, Izzy Reign is now set to release her debut album with FiXT in 2025.
