Swedish heavy metal veterans LION’S SHARE are celebrating the success of their comeback album “Inferno” with the release of a brand-new video for “We Are What We Are”.
Having now surpassed the 1 million mark on Spotify, the track has become one of the standout songs on “Inferno” and proves that classic heavy metal still holds a strong place in today’s scene.
Vocalist Nils Patrik Johansson explains the message behind “We Are What We Are”:
“The lyrics are basically about ignoring all the politics and bullshit around us and just doing our own thing. We simply live and breathe heavy metal. It’s a tribute to ourselves, our lifestyle, and all the hardcore heavy metal fans out there.”
The video was shot in an abandoned industrial wasteland and directed once again by Tom Wouda, who was also responsible for the band’s successful “Pentagram” video.
Guitarist Lars Chriss comments:
“Funny enough, part of the ruin we filmed in actually collapsed not long afterwards. We still don’t know if it was the riffs or all the flames we unleashed during the shoot.”
“Inferno”, released in March this year via Metalville, was LION’S SHARE’s first studio album in 17 years and has been widely hailed as one of the strongest in the band’s career – it combines the darkness, melody and power of classic heavy metal with a modern, edgy production.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER continues to tour in support of their critically adored tenth studio album, Servitude, released in 2024 via Metal Blade Records. “At a brisk thirty-three minutes, there’s no real fat, just a collection of raging riffs and solid gold grooves that never overstays its welcome…,” lauded Blabbermouth. “Whether wallowing in grim, doomy waters on ‘Mammoth’s Hand,’ or blasting away like some crazed, nihilistic army of intergalactic ghouls on ‘Transcosmic Blueprint’ and climactic hook avalanche ‘Utopia Black,’ this is an album that nobly delivers the goods, while screaming defiance at the stars. Everybody involved should be immensely proud.” Metal Injection accurately hailed a record of, “fucking killer death metal,” Distorted Sound crowned THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, “one of melodeath’s greatest, most consistent bands,” while Kerrang wrote, “…the release of Servitude faces down existential concerns with determination and defiance.” Added Last Rites, “Servitude doesn’t feel like a debut because it’s unpolished or full of missteps; it feels like a debut because it’s brimming with a fresh energy and feels like it’s only hinting at what could be in store.“
Forged in 1996 by Swedish guitar hero Michael Amott, ARCH ENEMY has spent three decades carving out a singular legacy at the intersection of extremity and melody. ARCH ENEMY quickly evolved into one of the defining forces of modern extreme metal with their razor-edged riffing, twin-guitar leads and anthemic songwriting that has carried the band from underground acclaim to global festival dominance. Across a formidable catalogue of eleven studio albums – from the cult-classic Black Earth (1996) to genre milestones like Wages of Sin (2001) and the arena-conquering works of the 2000s – ARCH ENEMY has continuously reshaped their sound without compromising its core intensity. A defining aspect of their evolution has been the succession of charismatic frontwomen: Angela Gossow’s revolutionary arrival in 2001 helped break gender barriers in extreme metal, while her successor Alissa White-Gluz fronted the band through a highly successful era, delivering critically acclaimed releases such as War Eternal (2014), Will To Power (2017), Deceivers (2022), and 2025’s Blood Dynasty. Relentless touring and an unwavering commitment to technical precision have cemented ARCH ENEMY as one of metal’s most enduring live acts, a band whose identity has remained anchored by Amott’s vision even as lineups shifted around him. Now, in 2026, ARCH ENEMY enters a bold new chapter: The band has unveiled former Once Human vocalist Lauren Hart as their new frontwoman, ushering in a revitalized era. Their latest single, “To The Last Breath,” serves as both a statement of intent and rebirth while retaining the band’s trademark ferocity by introducing a fresh vocal dynamic. With a renewed lineup, big European Summer festival appearances and a lengthy North American tour announced for the fall, ARCH ENEMY stand poised once again to redefine their own legacy – louder, sharper, and more unyielding than ever.
Swedish rock powerhouse Satan Takes A Holiday return with their new single Good Ones, released May 22, continuing the second chapter of their ambitious album project Covering Our Tracks, culminating in the full album release on September 18 (pre-order link).
Following the release of Covering Our Tracks: Part 1 and the opening single State Trooper, the band continue to unfold the project in real time — not simply as a collection of covers, but as a bold reimagining of rock history. By reshaping influential songs with their signature blend of garage rock, punk attitude and modern edge, Satan Takes A Holiday treat the past and present alike as raw material: something to challenge, energize and make entirely their own.
Pre-Save the single and then stream here (starting on May 22nd)
With Good Ones, originally by Charli XCX, the band turn their attention to modern pop — transforming a sleek, hook-driven track into a raw, driving indie rock cut with a sharp punk edge. Retaining the irresistible melody and core tension of the original, their version amplifies the grit, distortion and urgency, pushing the song into new territory.
“Charli first came onto my radar in 2011 with her debut EP Stay Away, possibly via our mutual collaborator, producer Patrik Berger,”Fred from the band explains. “However it happened, I’ve been hooked ever since. And when ‘Good Ones’ dropped a few years ago, it went straight into my STAH folder of potential covers.
Lo-fi, distorted drum and bass gelling with a sticky synth line and an irresistible melody. Maybe it hits harder than she originally intended — but we don’t care, we love it.”
The result is immediate, punchy and high-voltage — a fearless reinterpretation that highlights Satan Takes A Holiday’s instinct-driven approach and their ability to bridge genres without losing their identity.
EP Tracklist — Covering Our Tracks: Part 1 01. Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World (Ramones) feat. Rockenrollex 02. Gettin’ Away With Murder (Baby Grande) feat. Nicke Andersson 03. You’re the One That I Want(Travolta/Newton-John — Grease) 04. I Can’t Stop Thinking About It X Shady Lady & The Malefactor (The Dirtbombs) feat. Danne McKenzie 05. Rumble! 2026 (Link Wray)
As Covering Our Tracks continues to unfold, the band reinforce their position as one of Sweden’s most dynamic rock acts — honoring the lineage of rock and pop while carving out their own path forward into 2026. Here’s what the rollout plan looks like leading up to the album:
May 1st – State Trooper May 22 – Good Ones June 19 – Dream Baby Dream August 21 – Bang September 18 – Covering Our Tracks (full album)
Over the years, Satan Takes A Holiday have built a strong international following through extensive touring across Europe and high-profile support slots with acts such as KISS, The Sonics, Juliette Lewis, Backyard Babies and Imperial State Electric. Their releases have earned praise from Classic Rock, Louder Sound and Rock Hard, alongside radio support from BBC 6 Music — including spins from Iggy Pop — as well as Sweden’s P3 and Bandit Rock.
Epictronic is pleased to announce the signing of mudd·shovel, an alternative rock trio from Cavan, Ireland, and the upcoming reissue of the band’s debut album Little White Hair.
mudd·shovel are a three-piece alternative rock band hailing from the heart of Cavan, Ireland. Blending raw guitar-driven energy with haunting melodies and intense lyricism, they craft a sound that feels both deeply familiar and completely their own. With influences ranging from grunge and post-punk to modern alt-rock, mudd·shovel deliver songs that hit hard and stay with you.
Formed out of a shared obsession with the dirtier side of rock and an instinct for storytelling, mudd·shovel isn’t just a name-it’s a reflection of their sound: heavy, honest, and unapologetically grounded. Whether on stage or in the studio, the trio brings an intensity that punches above their weight.
With their debut album “Little White Hair”, mudd·shovel are carving out their space in Ireland’s underground rock scene, one riff at a time.
“Little White Hair” is built on dense, riff-driven arrangements and a sense of urgency that never lets up. Guitars lean into a gritty, near-industrial edge, rooted in the heavier end of alternative rock, with a punk-like looseness underneath. The rhythm section anchors the chaos with grooves that feel deliberate and barely contained. Vocals cut through the mix like another instrument, shifting between confrontational and cathartic.
What distinguishes Little White Hair as a debut is its confidence. There’s no hesitation, no attempt to soften the sound for accessibility. mudd·shovel commit fully to distortion, tension, and abrasive intensity, while still finding room for flashes of melody and atmosphere that prevent the record from becoming one-dimensional. Those restrained moments don’t dilute the impact; they sharpen it.
Lyrically, the album moves through frustration, identity, and emotional unrest. The push and pull between structure and chaos mirrors the subject matter, giving the record a cohesive core even as the sound veers into unpredictable territory.
The production is deliberately unpolished, closer to live-wire performance than studio gloss. In a landscape of over-refined rock releases, that roughness is a strength.
Little White Hair is a statement of intent. mudd·shovel know exactly what they want to sound like, and they don’t apologize for it.

The acclaimed American hard rock band TESLA is proud to share a new cover of Queen’s 1977 classic, “Spread Your Wings,” taken from their upcoming album, ‘Homage,’ set for release on July 17, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl. Marking a full-circle moment in their storied career, the album finds the band returning to their roots with a collection of covers honoring some of rock’s most timeless hits.
Bassist, keyboardist, pianist, and backing vocalist Brian Wheat shares:
“‘Spread Your Wings’ for me was the song I always wanted to record by Queen. I always felt it was the one song they had in their catalog that should’ve been a massive hit, but wasn’t because it was overshadowed by ‘We Are the Champions’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ on the ‘News of the World’ album. It was also a song written by John Deacon, who was the band’s secret weapon and whom not many people talk about, the quiet one, shall we say.”
It is remarkable to reflect on the more than 40 years since TESLA began as a cover band performing in California nightclubs before going on to write and record original material and sell millions of albums.
Much like their musical heroes — The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—artists who honed their craft by performing songs from those who came before them, TESLA followed a similar path in their early years and continues to embrace the tradition of paying tribute through cover songs today.
‘Homage,’ the band’s upcoming album, not only honors legendary artists but also provides an opportunity to showcase lead singer Jeff Keith’s vocal diversity. The album stands as a thank-you expressed through music, an offering to the iconic voices and songs that shaped the band’s influences and, ultimately, their own songwriting.
‘Homage’ is not about imitation, but acknowledgment, tracing the line from influence to identity, from listening to becoming. The project also arrives more than 20 years after the ‘Real to Reel’ series, a release that helped inspire the creation of a new original TESLA song, “Never Alone.”
The selected songs on ‘Homage’ were chosen for a variety of reasons, primarily representing some of the greatest vocalists of all time, including Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, Etta James, and James Brown. Additional selections reflect songs the band grew up hearing on the radio and on their turntables.
On the upcoming album, TESLA shares:
“Our new album ‘Homage’ is a thank-you note written in sound. An offering to the great singers and songs that shaped the music we grew up listening to, and the songs we would eventually write. We hope you all enjoy this as much as we did making it. Thank you for all the years – Keep it Real and Keep On Rockin’!”
