The newborn “Act III – Pareidolia of Depravity” from ADAMANTRA picks up seamlessly from where its predecessor left off, both musically and thematically.
The album’s eight tracks tell dark tales of the evils that have surrounded us throughout various eras, offering listeners a journey open to interpretation and personal perspectives. The versatile compositions, paired with skillful instrumentation, form a treasure trove for fans of progressive and power metal.
The bass player Jukka Hoffrén reflects on the album’s creation and production process: “The making of this album took its time, and with its release, we finally bring one era to a close. I believe things unfold in their own time, and in this case, it took several years. But we’re extremely satisfied – this is, without a doubt, our best album so far!”
The album bears the signature sound of Adamantra, blending traditional elements with grandiose choral arrangements. However, it also introduces new elements, with a string quartet featured on three tracks. With two full-length albums and an EP already under their belt, Adamantra’s much-anticipated third album, “Act III – Pareidolia of Depravity”, has finally come to life.

Tom Hunting recently spoke to The Metal Voice about the bands upcoming North American tour, new Live album and his thoughts on the late former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno.
Tom Hunting told The Metal Voice, “Those first two albums (Iron Maiden Album) changed my drumming style and my life musically. We were playing that stuff in backyards when we were barely teenagers at keg parties. People thought Running Free was an Exodus original, sorry we didn’t write that one. Our friend bought that record just because of the picture. He brought it home and we burned it up it was just so good and so groundbreaking.
He continued. “I loved Paul Di’anno, I thought he was a punk rock singer that they molded into a metal singer. They just invented something (Iron Maiden) together with Clive Burr. He’s one of my biggest influences (Clive). Then they fired Paul and they fired Clive and I’m like what the hell? Not that I didn’t love Number of the Beast and all the music that came after that but you know it was a tough to swallow.”

Southern California’s modern rock torchbearers, Robert Jon & The Wreck, have just released their powerful new single, “Boss Man,” alongside the Red Moon Rising Deluxe Edition, now available on all digital platforms. This Deluxe Edition features the original tracks from the band’s 2024 album, Red Moon Rising, the two CD Bonus Tracks “Hate To See You Go” and “Rager” along with two brand new songs, “Boss Man” and “Life Between The Lines,” making this a must-have for long-time fans and newcomers alike.
“’Boss Man’ is an anthem calling for unity and awareness amongst all people,” guitarist Henry James explains.
“It’s a cautionary tale involving environmental, humanitarian, and political concerns. It asks for us all to consider that all people in power (and those vying for political office) do not necessarily have our best interests at heart and to be wary of the potential for deceit. It asks the listener to stand together and care for their neighbours, families, and friends.”
The new single, produced by legendary producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Joe Bonamassa), embodies the band’s trademark southern rock sound while incorporating poignant, socially aware lyrics, giving listeners a fresh perspective on the band’s ever-evolving musical journey.
Red Moon Rising features a blend of powerful storytelling and diverse musical influences, with standout tracks such as “Ballad Of A Broken Hearted Man,” which has hit over 1 million views on YouTube, “Give Love,” “Dragging Me Down,” and “Worried Mind” showcasing the band’s ability to connect deeply with their audience. Czech DUSTBORN have released a new single ‘Předzvěst’, taken from “Unconcealed Atrocities” album. Listen to the single below.
DUSTBORN is a Czech band, originally playing symphonic death metal, thematically influenced by post-apocalyptic and hard sci-fi stories. The band emerged from the ashes of the band Desire for Sorrow, with founding members Jon, Johny and Vlajda (ex. DfS), Dan (Arthemion), Aaron and Venca (ex. Of the Woods, Pyromann).
In 2018, DUSTBORN recorded its first EP in the SONIDOS studio in Brno, entitled MMXVIII. The EP saw initial release only as digital download in form of individual singles, but in 2019 it was also released as a physical CD under the Narcoleptica Productions label. The CD version includes an instrumental bonus track in addition to the original digital release. MMXVIII also features two music videos for the singles Mind Astray and Depths, produced by Marek Frodys Pytlik (Postcards from Arkham).
Just before the recording of the debut album Dethroned, guitarist Aaron and vocalist Venca left the band, which greatly complicated the recording process. Guitar recording was largely taken over by the talented guitarist Marek Ciml and the position behind the microphone was taken over by Johny, who has remained behind the microphone permanently ever since. The album Dethroned, released in 2019 under the czech label Metalgate, has garnered positive reactions from fans and critics alike. The album also appeared in the Ceny Britva nominations in the Album of the Year category, for example.
Shortly after the release, Tom (ex. Marked As An Enemy) came on as a guitarist. The band, oxygenated with new blood, released the third official music video for the opening single River Stained Red, directed by Mejla Basel (Mejla Prod. – Machine Head, Krabathor, Hypnos)
With new material and a new show, the band hit the road to support Dethroned. They went on to play several successful shows at clubs and festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad, followed by a lull caused by the global pandemic.
At the end of 2022, DUSTBORN reappeared with two singles, The Sun God and Hodina, recorded live at Ambit 1084 studio in Český Krumlov. Both singles suggested a certain retreat from symphonic death metal, yet retained the band’s distinct personality.
In 2023, the band returns to the concert stage while preparing new material for a second full-length album, much of which was written during the pandemic. Given that our previous collaboration with the Ambit1084 studio had been fruitful, the second LP has been produced there as well. The new material moves a bit more into the black metal waters and nods in the direction of older Norwegian black metal records. Nonetheless, both the sound and the music of the album had been approached in a less orthodox manner, with frequent entries from other metal sub-genres. Album comes out on October 10th, 2024 digitally on all main streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, …) and a month later on a physical CD as well.
“Return To Me” is the latest video from progressive death metal duo ENTHEOS. The ferocious new track comes off the band’s An End To Everything EP, out through Metal Blade Records!
Comments vocalist Chaney Crabb, “Lyrically, ‘Return To Me’ is a song about the anxiety of watching someone that you love throw their life away while also gaining the perspective that no matter how our lives are lived, we will all inevitably face death. Musically, the simple melodic idea in the intro is what spawned this entire song. We really wanted this song to have a dark, almost black metal vibe while still maintaining our own heavy and progressive spin.”

“An End To Everything’s title and lyrics are significant on a personal level and depict an era in my life that ended with the death of a close friend because of addiction,” notes Crabb. “This person had thrived in life against many odds, but ultimately succumbed as a result of their own poor decisions. An End To Everything is about the nature of the darkness of life and the human experience.“
Writes Dead Rhetoric of the release, “ENTHEOS continues to be one of the most creative and interesting forces in extreme music. An End To Everything offers a huge platter of diversity without feeling like a smorgasbord. If you want something that can manage to be absurdly heavy yet intellectual, technical yet cinematic, as well as being gripping and cinematic, ENTHEOS provides a certain thrill that other groups just can’t seem to capture.”
ENTHEOS‘ An End To Everything EP was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Fallujah, Whitechapel) and features artwork by Zac Shiffer (Nine Inch Nails, Behemoth, Soundgarden).

“Hole In Your Soul” is a heavy blues track screaming to be turned up loud. It is sure to inspire every guitar player to sit down with their favourite guitar and get lost in the song’s hypnotic groove. This new recording is a timely sneak peek into Sayce’s upcoming album, slated to be released in 2025.
“Hole In Your Soul” was tracked live at Noble Street Studios in Toronto, Canada, by producer and engineer Brian Moncarz and features the legendary Fred Mandel on Wurlitzer. This fresh recording and arrangement breathe new life into this reclaimed song, making it available to blues rock lovers, new and old.
From the moment Philip Sayce first put his hands on a guitar neck, he never let go. Malcolm Gladwell theorized that “greatness” requires 10,000 hours of practical training. A teenage Sayce had easily surpassed this threshold when his hometown hero, legendary guitarist and multi-platinum artist Jeff Healey, caught Sayce playing a ferocious show in downtown Toronto.
Within a year, Sayce was touring internationally with Jeff Healey’s band and performing at prestigious festivals. Since that time, Sayce has put in multiples of that 10,000 hours, recording and touring for four years with musical icon Melissa Etheridge, then launching a solo career and establishing a rabid fan base in Europe and beyond, opening shows for the likes of ZZ Top and Deep Purple. Sayce is a rare artist, a combination of outstanding songwriter, unparalleled guitarist, soulful singer, and electrifying performer.
Sayce’s most recent album, The Wolves Are Coming (2024), was recorded at Station House Studios in LA with Grammy-award-winning engineer Mark Rains. The sessions were produced by Sayce, mixed by Brian Moncarz (Toronto) and Mark Rains (LA), and released on Sayce’s label, Atomic Gemini, with distribution through Forty Below Records. Sayce contacted his long-time collaborators, drummers Michael Leasure, Aaron Sterling and Fritz Lewak, Fred Mandel on piano and organ, and vocalist Bernie Barlow.
Born in Wales, raised in Toronto, and Los Angeles-based, Sayce’s love of the guitar started at an early age when his parents introduced him to many of the influential greats including Albert King, Freddie King, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Jeff Healey, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. Sayce performed on Uncle Kracker’s album No Stranger to Shame, which featured the single “Drift Away,” a song that topped the Billboard charts for 28 weeks. He toured and recorded with Melissa Etheridge, and during this time, Sayce found time to record his first solo album, Peace Machine, with co-producer Michael Nielsen.
In 2015, Sayce made his major label debut with Influence (Warner Music). Recorded with Grammy award-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album spawned strong press notices, a top 20 radio track, and expanded his global audience. The release was followed in 2016 by Scorched Earth, Volume 1 (Warner Music), a captivating live performance documented at Toronto’s Silver Dollar Room. Sayce’s electrifying live performances leave fans awestruck — a devastating house-shaking appearance at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festivalin New York City was heralded as one of the top performances of the event.
In 2020, during the global pandemic, Sayce released his seventh full-length album, Spirit Rising (Warner Music). The self-produced recording quickly became his most successful album without the support of tour dates or traditional promotion. Undaunted, Sayce turned his attention to social media and saw his fan base grow by over 300%. To date, Spirit Rising has eclipsed 131 million streams on Spotify.
With The Wolves Are Coming, Philip Sayce has surpassed expectations, intensifying the anticipation for his forthcoming album. “Hole In Your Soul” is an embodiment of Sayce reclaiming his power, reconnecting with and reimagining his songs so they can be released and available to audiences on Sayce’s terms.
Says Sayce, “The title of this song draws inspiration from an Albert King quote. It addresses the toxic obsession with material wealth and the relentless pursuit of external validation, often at the expense of one’s intuition and inner truth. The lyrics explore the futile attempt to fill an internal void with fleeting approval, leaving one perpetually unsatisfied. I’m thrilled to share this song with you. Feel the music — crank up the volume!”
