The October 5th show in Birmingham delivered an impressive combination of old favorites and fresh tracks, showcasing the musical versatility and consistency of all the bands. It offered a fantastic preview of what to expect when In Flames, Arch Enemy, and Soilwork hit the stages across the rest of Europe.
Soilwork opened the night, captivating the audience with their energetic riffs and powerful performance. With songs like “Stabbing the Drama” and “Spirit of No Return”, they pumped up the crowd and set the stage for an electrifying evening.
Next up was Arch Enemy, shaking the venue with their intense show. Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz wowed the audience with her commanding stage presence, and as classics like “Nemesis” and “The World Is Yours” were played, the crowd went wild.
In Flames closed the night with an awe-inspiring performance, pulling the audience in with their dynamic mix of new songs like “Meet Your Maker” and classics like “Only for the Weak” and “My Sweet Shadow”. Their performance was the perfect climax to an epic night.
Swiss rock legends GOTTHARD are set to make a triumphant return with their highly anticipated new album, “Stereo Crush,” scheduled for release early next year. While further details are yet to come, GOTTHARD have announced their return to the stage in May 2025.
Currently being finalized with producer Charlie Bauerfeind, the new album showcases GOTTHARD at their most vibrant, intense, and powerful. “This album is pure GOTTHARD DNA – honest, raw, and full of heart,” says lead singer Nic Maeder.
The band have laid the groundwork for the next phase of their remarkable career by signing with Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), marking the start of an exhilarating new chapter for a band that boasts over 3.5 million units sold worldwide and more than 2,000 live performances.
Vocalist Nic Maeder comments, “We are very excited to be working with Reigning Phoenix Music! Label boss Sven Bogner has a motivated and competent team at his side, whose passion for our music ultimately convinced us.”
Guitarist Leo Leoni adds, “With Markus Wosgien, Sven also has a long-time companion in the team, who has already accompanied many of our albums. Markus knows us and our music very well and knows what is important for GOTTHARD – we are looking forward to working together!”
With 16 number one albums, a Diamond Award for selling over one million units in Switzerland, and multiple platinum records, including their quadruple platinum album “Homerun,” and several double and triple platinum albums, GOTTHARD have an unmatched legacy of successes. Their tracks like ‘Heaven,’ a platinum single, and seven top 10 singles have cemented the band on the international music scene.
RPM managing director Jochen Richert is also enthusiastic: “Together with Wilhelm Tell, GOTTHARD are certainly the ultimate heroes of Switzerland! We are very proud to welcome the biggest rock band of their country, and with a remarkable fan base worldwide. Everyone at the label, the band and their management team are all highly motivated and are looking forward to rocking together in the future! Guys, thank you so much for your trust!”
On stage the fans can look forward to a setlist that perfectly combines new energy and immortal anthems. GOTTHARD also unveil that legendary Y&T will join them as special guests. “Y&T was the soundtrack of our youth,” guitarist Leo Leoni proudly says. “Now sharing the stage with them is a dream come true!”
Y&T front-man Dave Meniketti is equally excited: “We’ve always said that if rock ‘n’ roll stays real, it never gets old. GOTTHARD live that – which is why this tour package fits perfectly together!” With classics like ‘Forever’ and ‘Summertime Girls,’ Y&T will electrify the crowd just as much.

As previously stated, legendary Italian black-thrashers NECRODEATH have announced their intention to disband after one last album and a farewell tour in 2025.
Today the band reveals the first details of this farewell album: the record will be titled “Arimortis” and will be released on Time To Kill Records in January 2025.
The album will be the last recorded testimony before the definitive dissolution of the band. The release will be followed by a farewell tour, which will last throughout 2025. After which the curtain will fall.
Frontman Flegias commented: “’Arimortis’ is a term of Latin origin which indicates the end of a war, the moment in which the fallen are honoured and altars are erected in their name (‘arae mortis’, the altars of death). Even today in some parts of Italy the term ‘arimo’ is used to declare the end of the games. We wanted to use this allegory to seal a path that lasted forty years, full of satisfactions, disappointments and revenge. The songs that make up the album contain several references to our long career”.
Tracklist:
01. Storytellers of Lies 02. New God 03. Necrosadist 04. Arimortis 05. Near-Death Experience 06. Alien 07. No More Regrets 08. μετεμψύχωσις (Part two) 09. Hangover
The moment you hear it, you know it’s NECRODEATH. Formed back in 1984, the Italian act is one of the real iconic black-thrash metal bands. With a career of 40 years, the band has helped to shape the Italian metal scene and the international underground as it is today. In 1985 NECRODEATH released a cult-demo tape titled “The Shining Pentagram” and obtained an incredible success in the underground. The demo is still considered a real gem in the thrash and black metal history. Tons of tributes in major magazines, fanzines and other underground outlets highlighted the release of the first two legendary albums “Into The Macabre” (1987) and “Fragments Of Insanity” (1989). New records and international and national tours followed one another non-stop until 2020. Like many other acts, the band was forced to interrupt a workaholic path in the underground metal scene. During that period the band reached out to Time to Kill Records for the release of the last two albums, starting with “Singin’ in the Pain” in 2023. One final record will kick off a farewell tour which will conclude at the end of 2025.
The band comments: “ECHOES is a reflection of the chaos that comes with fighting your inner demons. We wanted to capture that feeling of being trapped in your own mind, where every struggle seems endless, like you’re caught in a loop. This song is about losing control but also the desperate fight to break free from the lies and darkness within.”
While the message of the song is reflective and serious CALIBAN decided to have a much more light-hearted approach to the video that echoes recent live shows. It was the first ones featuring Iain Duncan on bass and vocals.
Italian metal titans LACUNA COIL announce their 10th studio album, SLEEPLESS EMPIRE, their first collection of new songs since 2019’s Black Anima, with their new single “OXYGEN“. The new song comes with a mesmerizing new music video, filmed in Latina and directed by Daniele Tofani, that shows singer Cristina Scabbia in the lead role.
The new album comprises 11 new tracks; and each one is a richly textured soundtrack to a specific time and a place. With SLEEPLESS EMPIRE, that place is dark, cinematic, and unmistakably true to the unique characteristics that have given Lacuna Coil such a celebrated entry in the annals of heavy music. The band shares: “SLEEPLESS EMPIRE captures, through our eyes, the chaos of a generation trapped in a digital world that never stops, where social media consumes identity and every day pushes us one step closer to becoming soulless zombies. We find ourselves in between, having witnessed a full analogic world and the modern one, confronting the evolution and searching for a true meaning of it all. Throughout every song, the journey is an undercurrent of rebellion, a desperate cry to reclaim oneself in an era that seems to have lost its sense of time and reality.”
