Extreme Management Group (EMG), home to bands like Suffocation, Atheist, Misery Index, and more, has announced their partnership with California death metal band CRAWLING THROUGH TARTARUS.
Tartarus (Ancient Greek: ΤΏĎĎÎąĎÎżĎ, TĂĄrtaros) The deep abyss that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked and was the prison for the Titans. The Bands message tells us of Greek mythology and the dark and brutal stories of the gods. The groupâs heavy and dynamic sound along with their resonating live performances helped the band quickly rise to prominence.
Crawling Through Tartarus roared to life in 2019 and shortly after that the group released their first song âBallad of the Fallen’, and their follow-up single âHellâs Kitchenâ. This was the first from a fresh new face in the metal scene. Crawling Through Tartarus is a death metal band from the heart of southern California that packs a mean punch. The band follows a Greek mythology theme within their music, packed with heavy hitting riffs, brutal breakdowns, and earth shaking percussion that hits in all the right spots. Crawling Through Tartarus is one of those bands that will catch your attention from the get-go and will pull you in further with each listen. In 2020, they took to the road making appearances at multiple venues across the Southern California scene.
Crawling Through Tartarus has quickly gained a favorable reputation for their high energy live performances, brutal and invigorating studio recordings, and good branding. The heavy hitting groupâs latest single âMedusaâs Gaze’ helped catapult the group into 2022 by being the first track off their EP titled âLibationsâ in 2022. The EP serves its purpose by showcasing how, with each release, that this band is on the right path. Crawling Through Tartarus is a very talented death metal band that evolves very rapidly with each release, tightening their dynamic as a band and proves that this band is a powerhouse that is rising from California.
âIt is fair to say, their sound is as fiery as the Hades their moniker refers to, and is chock full of relentless heaviness with nary a let up.â – Ghost Cult Magazine
Check out Thread Of Life video below.
In line with their name, having dragged themselves up from the underworld of recovering from a shooting that occurred during a live set, injuring vocalist Matt, Crawling Through Tartarus have paid more than a penny to the ferryman to cross back over the River Styx to the land of the living, and return with their debut self-titled full-length album in February of 2024, two years after the Libations EP launched them . It is fair to say, their sound is as fiery as the Hades their moniker refers to, and is chock full of relentless heaviness with nary a let up. Straddling the line between contemporary Death Metal and Deathcore, the quintet certainly know what theyâre doing.
âThe Beast Withinâ, placed midway through the thirty-minute pummelling, flies out the traps, powered by drummer Joseph, then hits a slab-heavy groove, before the latter-part jags into some early-Gojira rhythmic juddering and once again picking the ante back up and the pummelling commences again. âThe Fall Of Atlasâ has a melancholic sepia tone to its staccato punch, and âInto The Depthsâ sees Matt slither where the slime lives, as CTT hit some slippery Strapping Young Lad grooves.

Now the band has signed with Extreme Management Group, and had the following to say about the partnering, “ There were a few different organizations that we were looking into working with and out of all of the options we had, Extreme Management Group really ultimately was the best choice for us. We look forward to this journey weâre all going to take together and are ecstatic that Extreme is working closely with us to spread our music and our energy to everyone we can.”  EMG said, “Crawling Through Tartarus is a killer death metal act from the west coast. US Symphonic Fantasy Power Metallers KNIGHTFALL have revealed a lyric visualizer video for ‘Warcries’, taken from the band’s latest album “Destiny Calling”, released March 29th, 2024.
“Warcries” features Stefani Keogh on main Vocals, which also cowrote lyrics on this song as well. Patrick Goble performed the guitars.
Mastermind Keith Dombrowski says about the new single and video: “‘Warcries’ draws its inspiration from my deep admiration for Viking culture and history, renowned for their ferocity and prowess in battle. The song serves as a metaphor for the relentless struggles we face in life.
For independent artists like me, the music industry represents a daunting battlefield where being heard is an ongoing challenge. In a landscape saturated with music, breaking through has become increasingly arduous. My impassioned cry resonates with the frustrations and anger shared by many artists navigating this harsh reality.
To capture the spirit of a Viking army, I have invited fellow musicians to join me in chanting the chorus, creating a powerful collective voice. Many of these voices belong to independent artists themselves, uniting in solidarity against the obstacles they confront in the industry. Through ‘Warcries’, I channel my emotions, using music as a vessel to express my defiance and determination.”
Combining SYMPHONIC/POWER METAL with sounds from the 80âs, KNIGHTFALL is breathing new life into the genre. The project is the brainchild of composer/songwriter Keith Dombrowski (ex Anaria).
Keith had a vision to collaborate with musicians from around the world and create songs that would evoke a myriad of emotions from its listeners.
Keith has put together an eclectic group of songs to create KNIGHTFALL‘s debut album “Destiny Calling“. [ learn more here ]

Skull Riot have released âChasing Lightsâ, an upbeat metal track that leans into the dark history of rock nâ roll, and combines heavy metal sounds with poetic lyrics to channel the mysticism and ingrained nefarious energy behind the craft of rock and metal music.
Inspired by classic rock and roll mysticism and legends such as The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, and Megadeth, âChasing Lightsâ speaks to the tale of a rockstar selling their soul to the devil in exchange for fame and success. Lyrics like âThe moon is out, and so is the truth, the sun is gone, and so is my youth. If Iâm this far deep into this game, how much do I have to lose anyways?â portray the dark imagery the song attempts to convey.
The song continues with intense metal backing riffs and powerhouse vocals from lead singer J. Ferron. The lyrics become even more evil-tinged, stating âAngels were screaming with all of their pain, into my lungs while my eyes turn to grey. Welcome my son to the gates of hell, the devilâs waiting and she wants you to stay.â This song showcases the true depth that Skull Riot is willing to go, in terms of instrumental performances, including drumming by Pedro Ramos (aka âToledoâ), that promise to blow listeners away, and lyrics that will move their audience like never before.
âWhen you have nothing left to lose, temptation appears and sometimes we make the wrong decision when we are blinded by our own ambition and desires.â -J. Ferron, frontman, writer, bassist, mixer, and lead singer for Skull Riot
About J. Ferron and Skull Riot
Originally from Mexico City, J. Ferron continued his career in music by pursuing a Masters degree in Film Scoring at Cornel School of Contemporary Music in Los Angeles in 2014. Taught by mentors such as Norman Ludwin (arranger for Michael Giacchino (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Jurassic World), Abraham Laboriel, Mauricio Guerrero, Tony Neiman, and Mauricio âOttoâ De Togni, J. Ferron developed a unique talent and voice for music that made him the artist he is today.
Since his move, J. Ferron has consistently sought out opportunities for collaboration with other artists and has played live and in the studio with up-and-coming artists such as Register Offender, Dans Eco Dance, Santoros, Strip Metal, Halibut, James Rensink , Rainee Lu, among many others. He is also currently working for the 11-time Grammy nominee producer, Mauricio Garza, at The Room Studios in Los Angeles as a recording and mixing engineer as well as producer and freelance film composer.
Working with talented names in the industry such as Dharius, Tiro Loko, Jonathan âSugarfootâ Moffett, Mrs. Banks, Sueco, KRS ONE, among many others, J. Ferron continues to build over 550 credits (and counting). As a recording, mixing and mastering engineer.
During COVID, J. Ferron decided to create a band project that he could lead from bass and would feature only two members, and thus, Skull Riot was born. Ferronâs unique approach to singing and screaming, along with his unique songwriting and instrumentation, keeps audiences engaged and provides a fresh take to traditional rock music. Following the steps of Lemmy, Mike Kerr, and Jack White, J. Ferron attempts to establish heavy music with this unique concept and band formation bringing to the attention to the power of the bass guitar.
