EDGE OF FOREVER have announced the upcoming release of their sixth studio album, RITUAL, on October 13, 2023. The first single and video from the album, “Ritual Pt. I” is out now.
Edge Of Forever has never been so active since the 2019 reunion, returning to the scene with two strong albums: NATIVE SOUL and the critically acclaimed SEMINOLE (2022).
The new line-up, consisting of Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere, Sweet Oblivion) on guitars, Nik Mazzucconi (Labyrinth, Sunstorm) on bass, and Marco Di Salvia (Hardline) on drums, and rounded up by singer, keyboardist, and founder Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Jorn, Revolution Saints), has become a true force of nature after the numerous tours and headlining shows that brought the band to successfully open for the likes of Skid Row (Belgium, The Netherlands), FM (Italy, Switzerland, Germany), and participating at Festival with Eclipse, Mike Tramp, and many more. They brought their music to thousands of people and multiple stages across Europe in the 16 months and 30-plus concerts supporting SEMINOLE.
The new musical path made of heavier guitars, epic choruses, and the finest and richest arrangements has brought the band to a much bigger crowd, expanding their spectrum from a mere Hard Rock band.
The motivational lyrics, infused with positive mental attitude and stoicism, all under the Native American spiritual culture, are now a trademark of the band and with RITUAL, when you thought you couldn’t dig deeper into these subjects, the band explores and even goes straight to the core matter that afflicted a minority: the residential schools tragedy.
RITUAL tells the story of the last two indigenous people speaking a language soon to be forgotten. The twins, a boy and a girl, were sent to two different residential schools and were told that there was no one else left from their Nation and they needed to forget everything they might remember from it, either language or culture. Secretly, they continued practicing their idiom, hoping to escape and find their twin somewhere in the world. The boy ends up escaping school and starts a lifelong journey which leads him to meeting his sister on his bed of death. The album tells a story of pride, strength, pain, but also ultimate joy and fulfillment in being who you truly and deeply are.
Alessandro Del Vecchio: “Ritual” is not just our next album, but it’s the record that makes Edge Of Forever, a much stronger band. I’m so grateful that Aldo, Nik, and Marco have brought their songs, ideas, and personality to the table making this album our best and more personal one. While talking about what happened at Residential Schools and trying to channel every bit of pain, sadness, and terror that Native Americans had to endure during those years, I, as always, tried to bring a positive message where resilience and pride meet encouraging all of us to be the best that we can really be, while never forgetting our roots, culture, and, definitely, who we really are.”
While SEMINOLE was created around the title track mini-suite, RITUAL brings strong progressive elements, intricate arrangements, and multi-layered vocals front and center on the 21-minute suite of the same title, which ends the story at the highest peak of the band’s creation.
Alessandro Del Vecchio’s crystal clear production brings every detail upfront and makes the whole band’s delivery powerful while throwing the listener into the center of the band’s own sound.
RITUAL sees the whole band writing and working as a full unit bringing new elements where melody, power, depth, and heaviness all meet together in an album that makes Edge Of Forever a unique case in today’s musical environment.
Here’s the track listing for RITUAL:

After releasing their latest, full length album ‘Shiki’ in 2022 and now their new live album ‘Live: Eastern Forces of Evil 2022’, now SIGH will be bringing their signature brand of Metal to the masses across Europe and the UK this autumn.
This will be a headline tour for Sigh and features Laster as special guests throughout the tour as well. The tour will be both a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album ‘Scorn Defeat’ but will also see the band performing material off their new album ‘Shiki’.
This will also be the first to run feature their new guitarist Nozomu and promises to be one for the ages.
Mirai elaborates on the tour below:
“Although we played in Europe here and there, it’s been a while since we actually “toured” there. We really cannot wait to be on the road again. This tour includes Poland where we have never played before. Also it’s been almost 30 years since we played in Ireland last time!
This tour is not only to support the latest album “Shiki” out on Peaceville last year but to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our debut album “Scorn Defeat”. Brazilian band ARMORED DAWN released their newest single “Brand New Way”, the title track for their forthcoming fourth album, which will be released in the second half of 2023. Different from the heavy theme of the last singles, “S.O.S.” and “Tides”, “Brand New Way” brings a more optimistic view of life, of how we shouldn’t let ourselves be overwhelmed by defeats or by those who want to bring us down, as there is always a new beginning and a new path to follow.
As with the previous singles, “Brand New Way” was mixed by CHRIS LORD ALGE (MUSE, GREEN DAY, NICKELBACK) and mastered by TED JENSEN (BRING ME THE HORIZON, EVANESCENCE, METALLICA), and again shows a great evolution in the band’s sound. The music brings the characteristic identity that marks ARMORED DAWN’s sound, expands horizons and surprises those who still don’t know the band’s music.
As is Armored Dawn’s tradition, the new single also features a super-produced music video, directed by Rafael Agostino, also the band’s keyboardist. The current lineup features Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura, and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums).
Armored Dawn emerged in 2014 and became relevant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, they played tours and shows alongside great bands like Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Fates Warning, Sabaton and Tarja.
The first two albums Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by great names like Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn), Bruno Agra (We Are Harlot) and Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach). The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, the latter a veteran producer with over 200 bands under his belt and a Latin Grammy.
Featuring a sophisticated and versatile metal, the band collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic production, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, shown in all movie theaters in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman, in 2018. “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played for around 37,000 people) add up to millions of views on YouTube.
During the pandemic, they released the single “Stronger Together”, which was very well accepted by the public.
Then, already preparing the ground for the forthcoming fourth album, “Brand New Way”, they released the singles “S.O.S.” which featured an amazing music video, and the heavy and melancholy “Tides”.
Recorded at Dharma Studios, mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), the album will be released later this year.
CAVO released their new Covers Vol. 1 EP to all major platforms via TLG/INgrooves on August 4, 2023.
In celebration of Covers Vol. 1, the band released a new music video for the song “Don’t Dream It’s Over.”
When asked about “Don’t Dream It’s Over”, Chris Hobbs says, “I’ve always loved this song! I remember hearing it in one the opening scenes of Stephen Kings The Stand tv series as kid and being captivated. It’s beautiful sounding yet haunting and sad at the same time. I’ve always had it in my head to cover it. Not to change it up or do a different take of it. Wanted to keep to the feel I fell in love with all those years ago.”
The creative force of Rock/Alternative from St. Louis is still creating and releasing new music. Humble beginnings to major label success to where they are now seems like a whirlwind but a lot of bands find themselves in these spaces. Bassist Brian Smith says “We are still a band releasing music we want to release and we hope people dig what we are doing”. Drummer Andy Herrin adds, “Every EP or record we do won’t be like one previously released and we have a lot of music to share and create.”“The great thing about the four of us in Cavo is that we’ve always been fully committed to this band,” explains bassist Brian Smith. “Even if we haven’t been in a spotlight for a bit and we have other projects going on, our bond is as tight as ever, and we’ve never stopped releasing music. We love writing together, playing together and just being together as friends, and that’s why we’ve been able to keep going together as long as we have.”
Cavo has teamed up with independent distributor TLG/INgrooves to expose all of these new crafted songs to a broader global audience. The band has released several songs from the first of 6 planned EPs, 3 original and 3 cover EPs. The first original EP is titled The Shakes with songs “Not Over You”, “Dizzy” and the self-titled track “The Shakes” being released on September 1st and “Synchronicity II” and “Drive” from the bands CAVOCovers vol.1. to be released on August 4th. Casey states “We are almost finished with our second original EP and after that we start work on the second covers EP.” “It’s just a really cool creative thing we have here and we are really excited to share what we are doing with everyone,” adds Chris.
It’s safe to say the CAVO boys are simply writing and recording new material and plan to release tons of new music in 2023 and for unforeseeable future!
