After their volcanic introduction last month, extreme metal band TILL THE DIRT return with their followup single ‘Starring Role’. The catastrophic track is found on the band’s Scott Burns produced, debut record, Outside The Spiral, due out August 25th via Nuclear Blast Records.
Influential death metal legend, ATHEIST vocalist and TILL THE DIRT mastermind Kelly Shaefer comments on the new song: “‘Starring Role’ is the first track on the album. It’s a song that ranks among my favorites on the record, and also a favorite of producer Scott Burns. It’s a straight up ripper! It encompasses all of the unique hybrid qualities of this whole album. Lyrically it is a song about the oddness of dreams and the role we sometimes do not seem to play, or understand as we awake from them. This is a perfect banger for cranking loud, and driving at high speeds!”
Progressive heavy metal vehicle, INTERLOPER is proud to reveal their newest offering in the form of the single, ‘Sanctum’.
The 6-minute banger is a mix of the band’s more technical elements and its very melodic guitar approach. ‘Sanctum’ is a glimpse into a new era of INTERLOPER.
Andrew Virrueta comments, “We present to you our newest song, ‘Sanctum’! We’re extremely excited about having this song finally out. It is a step in a heavier direction, as well as a more progressive direction. We hope you love it! Thanks so much for sticking around with our ever-evolving music. We are always trying to push the boundaries with what is conventional, and we feel this song really showcases the full spectrum of what we are capable of. “
INTERLOPER released their debut, full-length album SEARCH PARTY on June 11, 2021 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The deep cohesiveness of INTERLOPER’s writing process for SEARCH PARTY allowed for a creative project with no real boundaries or restrictions. The album was produced by the band and Joey Virrueta. Drums were recorded at Big Bad Sound LA by Jack Ruley and Zach Fisher, with the mixing and mastering completed once more by Andrew’s brother Joey Virrueta. The album artwork was created by Caelan Stokkermans.
Rising Cork groove metallers, FOLLOWING THE SIGNS have released an official video for their latest single, ‘Escape‘, which comes from their excellent new debut LP, ‘Conflictions’.
Featuring a collection of twelve blistering contemporary Metal tracks, ‘Conflictions’ is a furious debut, loaded with skyscraper melodies and deep, dark breakdowns, reminding us all, yet again, the level of quality that exists in the Irish Metal scene today.
With previous singles ‘This Day is Mine’ and ‘Exposed’ having made a respectful impact with heavy music fans and critics alike, their new single ‘Escape’ continues to reinforce the bands ability to find a perfect equilibrium between melody, and face-melting heaviness.
Speaking of the new single, the band commented: “With ‘Escape’, we wanted to show a very nice pre-chorus and chorus that were drafted in the first days of the album writing. The whole song is built around these two that the whole band is really proud to show you. The song wasn’t supposed to be a single but Josh from JSR Studio did an amazing job with the song that led us to pick ‘Escape’ as one of the main songs of the album.”
Having already featured in Metal Hammer Germany, and both previous singles getting UK and Irish premieres ahead of release, the interest in Following the Signs is gathering momentum, as fans are being drawn to the bands ability to fuse elements of old and new styles of Metal, with ease and authenticity.
Following The Signs are a force to be reckoned with” – Fistful of Metal Magazine. “A crushingly heavy debut, bursting with intense heaviness” – overdrive.ie “‘Conflictions’ offers irritable hook-laden riffs, created for maximum pit carnage” – The Razors Edge “‘Conflictions’ sees Following the Signs fire on all cylinders with chain-gun intensity” – Musipedia of Metal “Following the Signs hefty and accessible compositions deserve to reach a wider audience.” – Eternal Terror
More info… Every member of the band has different influences, which brings a lot of richness to our sound. Dan’s vocal influences are mainly Whitechapel, Linkin Park, and Motionless in White. Regarding the guitars, Noel’s and Vinny’s main influences are Slipknot, Deftones, Sepultura, and Lamb of God. Finally, Rory, who plays finger style bass, it’s more Sepultura, Black Sabbath and Korn. All these influences offer a mix to suit the band, and are the origin of very different vibes within the album.
“From start to finish we aimed to catch people’s attention right off the bat, whether it was the first notes played on the guitars, or the velocity of the vocals accompanying. We definitely aimed for a darker theme lyrically, talking across a range of emotions and thoughts people could really get behind while the instruments set the vibe for everything to fall into place. Today, Following the Signs can be characterised as Groovy Metalcore, with melodic and intense riffs.”
‘Conflictions’ is out now. Stream the album in full here.

”’All roses turn to dust!’ Love hurts… especially when it is not returned”, say NASTY about their latest single and video taken from their upcoming album, “Heartbreak Criminals”, that is due for a release on September 8th. Check “Roses” here:
The quartet follow-up 2020’s “Menace” (2020) even more pissed off and with even more love in their hearts. Tracks like “Resurrection” and “Don’t Play with Fire” already illustrated NASTY’s growth as artists while continuing to hold the flag of “f*cked-up music for a f*cked-up world” high. Indeed, re-recording old-school, fan-favourite tracks “Declaring War” and “Chaos,” both off 2006’s “Declaring War”, connects NASTY’s brow-beaten dots from the beginning to who the group are today. Heartbreak Criminals is a sonic life lesson of fist-fights lost and battles hard won. NASTY are perseverance.
The band recently announced a special release show with Desolated, Words Of Concrete and Dogbite, so mark your calendars. 08.09.23 (DE) Essen – Turock

Härnösand, Sweden blackened death metal act SVARTKONST is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated new album “May the Night Fall”, which will be coming out on September 29th via Trust No One Recordings. While the first single “Endless Dark” already gave an intense insight into the upcoming album, SVARTKONST follows up today with the brand new track “Filth Worship”.
“The second potent spell of all things Svartkonst. The blood in these veins has no limit to what it will distill. And the fruit of this is a disgusting slew of a track, maybe a more unpredicted and erratic one than previous conjurations,” mastermind Rickard Törnqvist states and continues: “Filth Worship is an unholy abomination that twists and turns as the track goes on. I wanted this track to have schizophrenia, to distort between genres and styles, in a filthy disharmony. Worship the filth!“
Since the band’s debut album “Devil’s Blood” in 2018, which hit like a minor bomb in the extreme metal circles and was nominated by Aftonbladet (Sweden’s biggest newspaper) to be the year’s second best album, the hype around SVARTKONST keeps on growing. With the vision of blending the heaviness and filth of Swedish Death Metal with the coldness and desperation of Black Metal, SVARTKONST succeeds in its own way to deliver heavy riffs, sharp melodies and intense aggression that leaves no one untouched. Following the latest album “Black Waves” (2020), which has been nominated for the Swedish Indie Grammy “Manifestgalan”, “May the Night Fall” is about to mark the next intense chapter of SVARTKONST and is an album not to be missed in 2023!
“May the Night Fall” will be coming out on September 29th via Trust No One Recordings and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION
