SHADE‘s debut EP ‘Interstellar‘ has arrived, sweeping away the remnants of winter and ushering in a season of warmer days and extended evenings. The remarkable musicianship of this quartet transcends their years, as they unveil four tunes of monumental proportions. Each composition stands as a worthy contender for a headlining spot in a stadium, with the title track, “Interstellar,” alone being worth the price of admission.

The North Manchester quartet of Luke (vocal / guitar), Adam (bass / vocal), Ben (guitar) and Oliver (drums) hit the ground running in Spring 2019. Whilst the pandemic reduced their live appearances at the time, it didn’t stop them refining their craft, writing and building a loyal following which continues to grow.
The best thing about SHADE (always written in capitals) is while they have proper Mancunian attitude and swagger, they’re not clones of what’s gone before. There may be elements of Oasis, Stone Roses, etc which they’ve picked up from their parents record collection, but the sound they craft is 100% their own. Lead guitarist Ben alone is like the bastard offspring of Jimi Hendrix, John Squire and Slash combined. While other ‘new’ Manchester bands hark back to the past, SHADE are looking firmly forward with a truly exceptional songwriter and singer in Luke, who is going from strength to strength with wisdom beyond his years.
Obviously every band needs a strong engine room to keep it all together, and this is the beauty of it, not only are Adam and Oliver in tune, they’re brothers as well. You can’t get tighter than that!

The debut REVAMPED (Vol. 1) features Opus, the drummer of Dead By Wednesday & Earth (former Ellefson, Altitudes & Attitude & Gargantua Soul of the 90’s), along with studio guitarist/solo artist and super shredder Joey Concepcion, both who performed & recorded all the music on this album. It was mixed and mastered by Nicky Bellmore (Dee Snider/Jasta/kings & liars) at Dexters Lab Recording in CT. The combination of Opus and Joey C. was also the duo responsible for the making of the ground breaking guest vocalist album Darkest of Angels by Dead By Wednesday, which came out on David Ellefson’s former EMP Label Group, and featured Brian Fair (Shadows fall), Eric AK (Flotsam & Jetsam), John Arch (Fates Warning), Rob Dukes (x-Exodus), Ceschi Ramos (Codefendants/x-Dead By Wednesday), Waylon Reavis (A Killers Confession/x-Mushroomhead) & many more.
“We might have gone too far with some of these cover tunes but we don’t care! It was so fun remaking these songs for the creation of this album!” says Joey Concepcion.
“Growing up a die hard metal head, I used to snub & hate on new wave music. Why? I don’t really know. I think partially it was my being “cool” age & also what heavy metal stood for at the time… sort of rebellion to all things main stream. However, I’ve always liked all different styles of music & feel that this is what makes a musician better & stronger. Lately, I’ve been vibing on some old school 80’s stuff… Which leads me to why I wanted to do this album,” adds Opus.

Finnish four-piece OCEANHOARSE, who released their sophomore studio album “Heads Will Roll” in February 2023 via Noble Demon, follows up today with a brand new single release, a cover version of Metallica’s “The Four Horsemen”. The track is accompanied by a brand new lyric video, which you can watch below.
Guitarist Ben Varon about the song: “A little tip we took from Metallica is to start the recording session for a new album with a cover song. It’s less stressful than trying to record one of the originals right away, and it’s a great and fun way to set the sound and get comfortable with the room. This song was recorded during the recording of our last album ‘Heads Will Roll’, and we think it turned out pretty cool! We hope Het & the guys like it!“

BURGÛLI, the one-man black metal project of Kondea Gorthaur, has announced that he has signed a deal with Wormholedeath for the release of the upcoming EP, Odi Des De La Fi Del Món (Hate From The End Of The World). The new EP follows the previous ones on their raw sound, with sharp riffs and a lo-fi production that brings you to the bottom of the abyss and makes you desperate.
Odi Des De La Fi Del Món is the fourth music offering by Burgûli, and the first one to be released by Wormholedeath. The EP is entirely sung in Catalan language, one of Kondea’s mother tongues (the other one being Spanish). As he explains,“I didn’t see why not to use it since there are many artists singing in their mother tongues. The album talks about the recurrent themes of the band: darkness, hate, rage, and misanthropy. Odi Des De La Fi Del Món is, like my previous album, about how I feel in this world, and how I feel related to this species called human beings. Burgûli is me, so every album is a representation of me.”

Burgûli is influenced by old-school black metal bands such as Darkthrone, Burzum, Mayhem, and Moonblood. The project started in 2019 with the release of Ombres (Shadows), followed by Runes (Runes) in 2020, and Abans Que Ens Engoleixi La Llum (Before The Light Swallows Us) in 2021. All these albums were released by Orbis Alia Records, a label run by Kondea himself except Abans Que Ens Engoleixi La Llum, released via Base Record Production.
Kondea plays all the instruments and writes all the lyrics for Burgûli.He also handles the artwork and the production of his albums. He describes his music as “a way of expressing myself and my feelings towards this world and this society. I don’t care about fame or money, I just want to create something that reflects who I am and what I think.”
