French progressive death metal visionaries EPITAPHE have unveiled “Transient”, the new single from their forthcoming third full-length “III”, with Everything Is Noise hosting the track’s premiere. The album is set for release on September 11th via Aesthetic Death (CD + LP) and Gurgling Gore (MC).
The most atmospheric piece on the record, “Transient” highlights another side of EPITAPHE‘s increasingly expansive sound, allowing the crushing weight of their death metal foundation to recede into more delicate and immersive territory. Rich textures, carefully layered guitars and a pronounced sense of space give the track an almost dreamlike quality, while its gradual development maintains the band’s trademark attention to structure and detail. Rather than simply providing a moment of respite, “Transient” deepens the emotional scope of “III”, revealing how much atmosphere can be extracted from the band’s already remarkably broad musical palette.
Following the overwhelming acclaim received by “II”, EPITAPHE return with their most ambitious and fully realized work to date. Rather than departing from the artistic path that established the band’s identity, “III” refines, expands and elevates every defining element of its predecessors into a collection of compositions that is both more immersive and more emotionally compelling.
The album pushes the band’s death metal foundation to new extremes, embracing an even harsher, darker and more unforgiving sound without sacrificing the sophistication that has become synonymous with EPITAPHE. “III” was recorded by James Leonard at Mémoire Mécanique Studio and Pentachrome Wave Studio, before being mixed by James Leonard and mastered by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios. The album artwork features “Spring Frost”, a striking painting by acclaimed Finnish artist Petri Ala-Maunus, perfectly complementing the record’s immersive atmosphere and profound sense of scale.
Following the release of their first single “Living Useless Ritual”, New York’s avant-garde black metal visionaries KRALLICE have unveiled “Kill The Guardian”, the second track from their forthcoming full-length album “Scour Order”, set for release on September 18 via Profound Lore Records. Speaking about the track, the band comments: “Kill the guardian is the other song on the record where all three of us have vocal verses. It was initiated by mick and collaboratively arranged. We call this song ‘porridger’. It’s soupy and nutritious.”
With “Scour Order”, KRALLICE return to Profound Lore Records, the label that released the band’s first three albums, while revisiting aspects of their classic dual-guitar approach in a new chapter of their ever-evolving sound.
Formed in 2007 in Woodhaven, Queens, New York City, KRALLICE began as a collaboration between guitarists Colin Marston and Mick Barr, initially conceived as a black metal recording project. Following the release of their self-titled debut in 2008 with drummer Lev Weinstein, the project quickly evolved into a full band with the addition of Nicholas McMaster on bass and vocals.
Across twenty full-length albums and EPs, KRALLICE have continuously expanded the boundaries of black metal through dense, polyphonic compositions and an uncompromising spirit of experimentation. While their early releases established the band’s signature blend of technical precision and relentless intensity, subsequent works increasingly embraced atmospheric textures, unconventional songwriting, synthesizers, and shifting instrumental roles. Beginning with “Loum” in 2017, which introduced collaborations with Dave Edwardson (NEUROSIS), and continuing through the synth-heavy, lineup-shifting explorations of “Demonic Wealth” and its successors, KRALLICE steadily broadened their sonic identity without sacrificing the complexity at the core of their sound.

For the new album, “Scour Order”, KRALLICE returns to the old instrumentation with Colin and Mick on guitars and McMaster on bass, but Colin’s vocals have stuck around. The new album is raging and dark, dense but also expansive. It marks both a return to familiar foundations and a continuation of the band’s ongoing evolution.
Along with the new album KRALLICE is embarking on its first European tour. The band hasn’t focused on touring as much as writing and recording, but over the years there have been tours with Wolves in the Throne Room, Gorguts and Portal, Ludicra, Withered, Vampillia, Pale Chalice, and most-recently Blood Incantation. KRALLICE has also played the festivals Maryland Deathfest (3 times), Incubate, and Roadburn (who commissioned the new music and its live debut at the 2026 festival).

TEMIC certainly lived up to the hype with their chart-topping debut, but the international prog supergroup have grown by leaps and bounds on their mighty and magical second album. Fans and critics are trembling in anticipation for Ceiba, the group’s thunderous ode to loss.
“TEMIC are back in full bloom with Ceiba”, Metal Injection writes in this month’s edition of the Progressive Injection.
Prog Magazine agreed, naming the album’s lead single “Ceased to Be” a track of the week.
Today, TEMIC are releasing the second advanced single from Ceiba. “Broken” bares the album’s soul with grief and grace.
“‘Broken’ is built around overwhelming emotion and honesty”, TEMIC vocalist Fredrik Klemp says. “We wrote the song in 30 minutes. It came together instinctively. There was no need to overthink it or make it into something more than what it already was. We simply allowed it to be what it is. I think that’s where the song gets its strength”.
“The honesty of this song became very important to my vocal performance”, Klemp continues. “It connects to experiences and emotions that are deeply personal to me. Rather than distance myself from them, I wanted to let those emotions come through in my voice. My performance sits deliberately close to the edge, fragile and unsteady, as if it could give way at any moment”.

Long before they appeared like a dream come true to prog fans around the world in 2023, already, the members of TEMIC had made a real name for themselves. The international supergroup features current and former members of Devin Townsend, Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress, Neal Morse Band, Haken, Shining and Maraton. Having topped charts in the Netherlands and reaching #15 on the iTunes Worldwide Metal chart, their full-length debut certainly lived up to the hype. But they’ve grown by leaps and bounds on Ceiba, their mighty and magical second album.
“Ceiba is a concept album about loss in all its various forms”, TEMIC says. “While more progressive than our first album, the songs are driven by honesty and emotions. They deal with pain, anger, fear, blame and silence, which are all difficult in their own way but a part of the process to renewing our inner strength”.
The concept behind TEMIC started in 2017, when keyboardist Diego Tejeida and guitarist Eric Gillette were both touring members of Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress. After proving to be a quick fit on stage, the two decided to start their own band together. “We wanted to make music that prided itself on emotion, not just because it’s technically difficult to play”, Tejeida says. As for what the band would sound like, combining their love for heavy riffs, heavenly pop hooks and high-energy electronic music into a hard-hitting prog-metal hybrid wasn’t so simple. But after recruiting former soccer prodigy-turned-Zildjian-endorsed drummer Simen Sandnes to go along with Norwegian Idol contestant and powerhouse vocalist Fredrik Klemp, TEMIC put all the pieces together on their very first try.
“[…] a fresh and powerful take on contemporary progressive metal”, Sonic Perspectives wrote in a 8.5/10 review of Terror Management Theory.
ProgRadio agreed. “[…] a band that has the potential to innovate and redefine the boundaries of progressive rock and metal”.
“TEMIC manages to craft a distinct narrative, with the echoes of their musical roots subtly woven into each track”, wrote The Prog Report, who named Terror Management Theory one of the best albums of 2023.
Now, after a co-headline tour of Europe with Rendezvous Point and a splashy appearance aboard Cruise to the Edge, TEMIC are back in full bloom with Ceiba.
Much like Terror Management Theory, the supergroup’s widely-anticipated follow-up centers on mortality. In Mayan culture, the titular tree is considered sacred for its connection to the earth, heaven and the underworld. “We love how the image of the Ceiba connects to the overarching theme of loss”, Tejeida explains. As depicted by the album’s lush cover art, it opens like a crack of lightning. Heavy with loss and without any foreseeable hope on the horizon, “Ashes” rains down one thunderous riff after another, only for the dark clouds to lift like a veil amidst its rousing chorus.
“Though I’m broken, my will still remains”. While digging deep, Klemp never fails to hit the high notes. “Finding strength that resides within the pain”.
Like a root, loss possesses a deep hold over Ceiba. “I have experienced lots of personal losses, along with everyone else”, Tejeida says. “Though we don’t often talk about them with each other, loss is so universal that it will always be a natural part of our lives, like a tree”. Whether it’s the loss of a friendship, a romantic relationship, a loved one or your sense of self, so too does the album take many different forms. “Casting Stone” turns a hopeful relationship contentious with a fiery volley between djent, hard rock and electronics. Meanwhile, fragile ballad “Broken” mourns the end of a codependent relationship while accompanied by little more than ghostly synths.
“Prog can be too concerned with being clever, but ‘Broken’ is just an honest song”, Tejeida says. “The song pretty much has stayed the same since we wrote it: raw and to the point”.
No matter how deep Ceiba digs into philosophical terrain, TEMIC continue to branch out in all directions both literally and figuratively. The album treats loss not as an end but as one more step along life’s path. “Your soul will never die”, assures lead single “Ceased To Be”, which crosses between prog’s technical sorcery and pop’s divine melodies with relative ease thanks to shrewd guidance from the group’s newest member and bassist Miguel Pereira (Withem, Big City). Supported by swaying leads, towering cleans and firm groove, 10-minute closer “As Long As We Last” promises to stay with us long after its final epic solo.
“We wrote this album together with contributions from all five members”, the band says. “We allowed ourselves to explore the songs and really extend ourselves while always keeping the emotions at the front of our minds”.
With Ceiba, TEMIC return with a thunderous ode of prog.

TRIUMPH, one of Canada’s most revered and influential rock bands, returns with Leg 2 of the Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded Tour, continuing the band’s 50th year Anniversary in music. JENNIFER SCREAM have revealed the official cover artwork for their upcoming fifth studio album, “UNFAITHFUL”, due out on January 15th.
The artwork gives the first hint of what to expect from “UNFAITHFUL”. Jennifer Scream have always mixed hard rock, sleaze, metal and straight-up rock ’n’ roll, but this time the band takes things in a darker and more personal direction.
As the title suggests, the album revolves around the idea of infidelity, but not from one single point of view. The songs look at the subject from different sides, with more personal and mature lyrics than the band has explored in the past.
That doesn’t mean Jennifer Scream have softened their sound.
“UNFAITHFUL” also introduces the band’s renewed line-up, with Dave on vocals and Nick on guitar joining Steve Foglia on drums and P.A.R.O. on bass. The album will also feature a few special collaborations, including appearances from former Jennifer Scream members.
Formed in 2007 by singer Met and drummer Steve Foglia, Jennifer Scream have built their sound around heavy riffs, big melodies and the attitude of bands such as Hardcore Superstar and Backyard Babies, while bringing in the heavier influences of their individual members.
Their discography began with “Under My Pin Heels” in 2008, followed by “It’s Rock, You Suck” in 2009 and “Mad Cow” in 2012. Over the years, the band have also shared the stage with names including Hardcore Superstar, Pretty Boy Floyd, Adam Bomb and Michael Monroe.
After returning with their self-titled album in 2025, Jennifer Scream are now ready for the next step.

Norwegian death metal force CELESTIAL SCOURGE are set to return with their second full-length album, “Exomia”, due for release later this year via Time To Kill Records. Following their 2025 debut “Observers of the Inevitable”, the band continues the science-fiction inspired concept introduced on their first record, expanding its narrative universe through a new and darker chapter.
With “Exomia”, CELESTIAL SCOURGE refine the formula established on their debut, delivering a more aggressive and direct take on their technical death metal foundations. The new album places greater emphasis on the impact of the individual songs, combining devastating intensity with a stronger focus on memorable riffs and dynamic structures. While the band’s technical approach remains a key element of their identity, the compositions flow with increased immediacy, balancing complexity and accessibility without sacrificing heaviness.
The album features additional vocals on “Spherical Aberrations” by Devin Swank (Sanguisugabogg). The drums were recorded at Bridge Burner Recording and engineered by Ørjan Kristoffersen, while the album was recorded by Sindre & Hansi. Mixing and mastering were handled by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio, with artwork and layout created by César Eidrian.
