On February 24, 2022, IMPERIAL AGE became the first Metal band from Russia to resolutely and publicly protest the invasion of Ukraine. Immediately afterwards, founders and vocalists Jane Odintsova and Alexander “Aor” Osipov left the country and settled in Antalya, Turkey, from where they formed an international lineup with musicians from Italy, the UK, the Netherlands and the US.
Despite heavy financial losses and numerous difficulties, they passionately managed to keep the band alive – mainly thanks to the enormous support of their huge European and American fanbase.
6 months later IMPERIAL AGE released their third album “New World” and subsequently played a whole 21 EU concerts on their own in September 2022 and 5 UK concerts in January 2023.
While on tour in the UK, bandleaders Jane and Alexander were recognized by Arts Council England as “Exceptional Talents” under the Global Talent program – a select immigration route reserved for internationally recognised artists, scientists and athletes wishing to move to the UK.
To help fund the upcoming relocation costs, Jane and Alexander set up their own crowdfunding page and asked fans to help them cover the £5,150 NHS surcharge required to apply for UK residency. This turned out to be a huge success:
within a few days, fans raised enough funds to more than quadruple the original goal to a total of £21,419 (and still counting!)
Speaking to their devoted fans in an update on the official crowdfunding page, Imperial Age said: “You guys are definitely the best fans in the world! We are deeply – positively – shocked, we are simply at a loss for words, we can only be immensely grateful. We could never have imagined that this would go so well!
All the money you have pledged will be used for our relocation and to cover the band’s debts, which, as mentioned below, are mainly due to urgent relocations, concert postponements, refunds and visa problems.
We are infinitely grateful and appreciative for all your support!!!
We will not let you down. Promise.”
Jane and Alexander have already applied for UK residence permits at the British Consulate in Antalya. So great things can be expected on the horizon as Imperial Age makes its move to the British Isles!

FEAR FACTORY’s Dino Cazares comments, “It’s time to introduce the world to our new vocalist. The search was long and meticulous, but I know for sure we got the right guy. It is a big week for us in FEAR FACTORY as we make our final preparations for our return to the live stage touring across the US, beginning February 25th on the ‘Rise Of The Machine’ tour. We can’t wait to get out on the road and start kicking some ass. ‘The Machine Will Rise’.”

Last year, the band released Recoded via Nuclear Blast. Like the innovative one-two punch of Demanufacture and Remanufacture, Recoded brilliantly reimagines the songs from 2021’s landmark Aggression Continuum with diverse ferocity.
The remixes stand as a mesmerizing counterpart to the band’s tenth album. Produced by co-founder, songwriter, and guitarist Dino Cazares and mixed/mastered by Damien Rainaud (DRAGONFORCE, ONCE HUMAN), Recoded boasts new interpretations of Aggression Continuum songs. Recoded features long-time collaborators Rhys Fulber, Zardonic, Tyrant Of Death, Rob GEE, BLUSH_RESPONSE, and Dualized. The album is the fourth FEAR FACTORY album with artwork by Anthony Clarkson.
Australian rock band LEADFINGER released their critically acclaimed album Silver & Black in early 2022 through Golden Robot Records. This was the follow up to their 2016 album, Friday Night Heroes and has been universally touted as the band’s best work yet.
To follow up the album, Leadfinger have today released a new single called ‘Find the Words’ – one of the most powerful and haunting songs from Silver & Black – available now everywhere.
“Every song on Silver & Black is a winner, each rich with colour and diversity. It stands as Leadfinger’s magnum opus – and it should rightfully open new doors for the band” – Col Gray @ The Australian Rock Show
“Silver & Black…is the masterpiece of Leadfinger’s discography, it is a masterpiece of the modern era of Australian rock” – Eliseno Sposato @ Freakout Mag, Italy
ABOUT LEADFINGER The name Leadfinger was originally a nom de plume for the band’s songwriter/guitarist Stewart Cunningham and stems from a brotherly air rifle shooting incident when he was a teenager. The band formed in 2006 and morphed into a twin guitar rock n’ roll band in 2008 with a 4 piece line up that has remained unchanged since that time. They toured Europe in October 2017 and after an almost 4 year break they returned to play live again in 2021 with plenty of new songs and enthusiasm. Leadfinger have been a mainstay on the underground rock scene since 2006, releasing 5 previous albums through labels like Citadel Records in Australia and Bang! Records out of Spain. They returned to playing live in 2021 as part of the Golden Robot Records roster. Leadfinger are a real rock’n’roll band, their influences stretch back through the 80’s indie rock, the 70’s rock and punk eras, through the classic Stones and Dylan records of the 60’s, the blues and beyond. Their timeless song writing and heart-on-sleeve delivery has won them many fans.
American heavy stoner-rock band CARBELLION just revealed a new music video for their latest single “Pity the Backseat“. This is the third music video & single taken from their upcoming LP album Weapons of Choice which will be released on March 17, 2023 via Eclipse Records. The video was directed by Joel Nilsson. The album was produced by Carbellion and Chris Djuricic (Nonpoint, Soil, Novembers Doom) and mastered by Andy VanDette (Beastie Boys, Porcupine Tree, Rush).
Pity the Back Seat is my love letter to S.E. (Susan Eloise) Hinton’s novel The Outsiders published in 1967, as well as the subsequent motion picture directed by Francis Ford Coppola released in 1983″ says drummer Brent Nimz. “The lyrics are based on bits of dialogue from the screenplay and movie. I read this novel in the 7th grade around age 12 and after watched the movie. The story affected me on a personal level like no other novel or movie had before. I found myself connecting with the characters as if they were kids from my own neighborhood. The story about the rich kids (Socials or “Socs”) from one side of the tracks and the poor kids (Greasers) from the other side finding unity over shared hardships and events are the common threads that connect with readers for generations. I set out to write a song that I believe all of us Greasers can stand behind. Fans of the novel and movie, this song was written for you. It’s a simple rock ‘n roll song with a lot of heart.” Brent continues, “The live footage in the music video for “Pity the Back Seat” was shot in our rehearsal room where all the songs on the ‘Weapons of Choice’ album were written, while the street scenes in the music video were shot in Tulsa, Oklahoma where The Outsiders movie was actually filmed. The video includes footage of all the major locations used in the movie: the Circle Cinema which appeared as the movie house Ponyboy Curtis visits at the beginning of the film, the DX station where Sodapop Curtis and Steve worked, and exterior shots of the Curtis brothers’ house, which is now The Outsiders House Museum. The Admiral Twin drive-in theater, also shown in the music video, was where Cherry Vallance, a Soc, famously throws her soda in Greaser Dally’s face after inappropriate comments about the color of her hair. The title of the song “Pity the Back Seat” was pulled from the drive-in scene where Two-Bit breaks a bottle on a chain link fence, pitches it to Ponyboy and then pulls out his switchblade in response to a couple loud-mouthed Socs scolding Cherry for walking with a few Greasers.”
Carbellion’s new album entitled Weapons of Choice Is the band’s third full-length album pulls from nearly twenty years of experience and lessons learned by fire to deliver the group’s most compelling release to date. The ten-song collection brings together the band’s strongest and most cohesive material, though its inception was rather unusual. Lyrically, the album finds Carbellion working to engage its audience. “I want to make people think,” Kellenberger states. “We’ve never been great at writing straightforward songs. Translating the thoughts and ideas in my head is a complicated process, but an exciting one. These songs are definitely fun and we write them with the intention of making people have a good time, especially with the live show, but this record more than any other also aims to make people think. Don’t take everything at face value. Nothing in this life is black and white. The truth is almost always somewhere in the middle.” “We started the record before COVID,” says Kellenberger. “The pandemic made us stop temporarily, but we found a way to work together digitally during that time. That allowed us to write the record, which we took to the studio as material was finished, so some songs were recorded two years before others, but it was a constant creation process”. With the now album complete, Carbellion is taking stock of its place in the rock ecosystem. After nearly two decades and half a dozen releases, the Wisconsin bad boys feel they are just now hitting their stride.
