After CORTEGE went on hiatus in early 2025, Sebastian Bartek and Kamil Szuszkiewicz decided to continue their musical activities under the name WEAK AND MORTAL. The duo remained within the death metal genre, but the musicians decided to open themselves up to other sounds, which resulted with progressive structures of the songs in the introduction of electronics and samples into their music.
After unsuccessfully searching for new band members, Sebastian and Kamil decided to record their debut material independently.
In December 2025, the duo entered the Czech DiGaZ Recording Studio in Karviná, where they recorded their debut EP, “The Darkest Places on the Earth.” Tom “Digaz” Pletnický (Inferno, Thenemis) was behind the console, significantly influencing the final shape of the music. Cover artwork was done by Kamil Szuszkiewicz.
WEAK AND MORTAL‘s debut EP contains four tracks, comprising nearly twenty-five minutes of dark, heavy, unconventional, and at times downright anthemic music.
EP was released on March 31, 2026 by German label A.D.G Records (mailorder: adg.militia@gmail.com). We invite you to listen to the entire EP on the Forever Misanthropia Youtube channel.

Just recently THE BASEMENT BROADCAST conducted a video interview with former HADES bassist Jimmy Schulman:
“I had a shot at joining the Ramones—and yeah, it’s as wild as it sounds! After Dee Dee Ramone stepped away, the band was looking for a new bassist. I came out of the THRASH METAL scene playing in HADES and tried to break into one of the most iconic punk bands of all time. This is the real story of what happened, what they were actually looking for, and why it didn’t work out. I was ready for the bangs. From the outside, it might seem like just another audition—but the Ramones weren’t just hiring a player. They were protecting a sound, an image, and a legacy.”
Jimmy was one of only three bassists to be called back to audition a 2nd time. If you’re into punk history, behind-the-scenes music stories, or “almost made it” moments, this one’s for you.”
Schulman went on to play bass for Vessel Of Light on their Thy Serpent Rise and Last Ride albums as well as Cassius King with Jason McMaster. Bost bands featured Jimmy’s old Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo.

Mystic Production, under exclusive license from Nuclear Blast, launches the Classic Blast series with a reissue of BELPHEGOR’s “Pestapokalypse VI” – a cornerstone release in the evolution of extreme black/death metal.
First unleashed in 2006, “Pestapokalypse VI” quickly established itself as one of the most uncompromising and blasphemous records of its era. Driven by relentless blast beats, razor-sharp riffing and provocative, anti-religious themes, the album captures BELPHEGOR at their most ferocious and focused.
Its production strikes a precise balance between raw aggression and sonic clarity, allowing the band’s technical prowess and intensity to shine while preserving a suffocating, oppressive atmosphere.
Regarded as an essential entry in the band’s catalog, “Pestapokalypse VI” remains a benchmark for fans of extreme black/death metal.
Mystic Production brings the album back into the spotlight, reaffirming its status as a genre-defining work within the Classic Blast series.

Since 2009, ARCHSPIRE has aimed to be one thing above all else: extreme. With their upcoming release, ‘TOO FAST TO DIE,’ they’ve once again raised the bar for what extreme music can be.
“We’re like a bit of meth in your cigarette,” says vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron, describing the band’s unhinged live show. “I think people don’t quite know how to describe what they’re hearing.”
In 2025, ARCHSPIRE announced their new drummer, Spencer Moore, marking a shift in the band’s trajectory. New blood brings new influences, and with the first single “Carrion Ladder,” they intended to show exactly how quickly he proved himself.
“I had to step my game up fast to pull off the new material,”Spencer explains. “But once we started tracking, everything felt comfortable and natural.”
Recorded in 2025, the album reunites the band with world-renowned producer Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Khemmis) for the third time. They locked themselves inside his Denver studio for several months, cutting out distractions and dedicating themselves entirely to the record.
‘TOO FAST TO DIE’ follows the critically acclaimed Juno Award-winning ‘Bleed the Future,’ and marks the band’s first fully independent release. Early in the writing process, they chose to crowdfund the album, a strategy they’d used before, but nothing prepared them for the scale of what came next.
They raised nearly $400,000 CAD in 30 days, blowing past their goal in under 24 hours and confirming that independence was the right move.
“I was actually shaking when I pressed launch,” says guitarist Dean Lamb. “We’d never taken on something this big, and all I could think was, ‘man, I hope we don’t mess this up.’”
‘TOO FAST TO DIE’ is set for release on April 10, 2026, and represents a new chapter for ARCHSPIRE. Now fully independent and armed with a revitalized lineup, they’re intent on expanding their already rabid fanbase, pushing the boundaries of extreme metal, and having a great time doing it.
ARCHSPIRE will be hitting the road this Spring on the Long Roads Big Loads Tour alongside special guests Undeath, Crown Magnetar and Mutilation Barbecue. The tour begins April 24th in Calgary, AB before storming across North America and concluding on June 6th in Vancouver, BC. For a full list of dates, please see below.
