Progressive Latin metallers MANUEL has released the official music video for “Ladrón,” a powerful single from the acclaimed EP Parasite, available now through Wormholedeath Records.
Filmed at Grime Studios and produced in collaboration with Chuck Martin Productions, the video transforms the song’s themes of exploitation, greed, and resistance into a visually striking performance piece. Set against the raw industrial backdrop of Grime Studios, the video captures the intensity and emotion at the heart of the track while showcasing MANUEL’s distinctive blend of progressive metal, Latin influences, and cinematic storytelling.
“Ladrón” features a compelling guest vocal performance by Patrice Elizabeth Vigeant, whose haunting delivery adds emotional depth and urgency to the song’s message. The track was mixed and mastered by Evan Sammons, whose production brings clarity, power, and dynamic range to MANUEL’s expansive sound.
As part of Parasite, “Ladrón” continues MANUEL’s exploration of social inequality, resilience, and the human cost of systems built on exploitation. The music video pairs the band’s commanding performance with an immersive visual aesthetic, reinforcing the song’s themes through both sound and imagery.

The Arsonist can be traced back through Wailin Storms’ past. As a child, frontman Justin Storms was so hypnotized by fire that he came dangerously close to accidentally burning down his family’s house in Corpus Christ, Texas. Old folk songs, Baptist hymns, Flannery O’Connor, René Magritte and other influences are brought stomping and screaming into the light. With its sideways gust of riffs and moaning chorus, “The Wind” blows loud enough to wake the entire cemetery.
Recorded by Matt Talbott of Hum in full analog, The Arsonist rekindles Wailin Storms roots in raw-to-the-bone blues punk. “Some of these songs are more primitive and stripped down, hearkening back to the four-track recordings that the band started with”, Storms says. “The recordings contain flaws but remain human in all the right ways. They could be a murder ballad or an old folk song that’s sung around the campfire”. Opener “Dead End” takes a Lynchian post-punk turn when its death rattle leads straight into a waking nightmare. “Calm night / Birds keep plucking out our eyes”.
Despite being haunted by a doom-soaked atmosphere, The Arsonist is inflamed by real life anxieties. “You Never Answered” is a deafening plea to put down our phone and answer the night’s call. The album rages against everyday trappings and never-ending wars, but even amidst its most chilling moments, Wailin Storms are fueled by the need for connection. “Like the wind controls the sea”, Storms croons during the slow-burning title track. “You always had a hold on me”. As the band are engulfed by the fiery pangs of love, they howl like the hounds of hell.

Born the son of a church pianist and Baptist preacher, Justin Storms converted to the church of rock ‘n’ roll after listening to the teachings of his older brother. “He was responsible for getting me into outsider music”. After forming Wailin Storms in his home state of Texas and a pass through New York City, Storms hunkered down in Durham, North Carolina, where he was joined in 2014 by the band’s current drummer Mark Oates (Bats & Mice) and bassist Steve Stanczyk.
Debut full-length One Foot in the Flesh Grave laid a solid foundation for Wailin Storms in 2015 with an East Coast and Midwest tour that led to their first appearance at The Fest. 2017 follow-up Sick City infected more ears with coverage spreading from CVLT Nation to NPR. It was their third album, though, that really opened the floodgates. Rattle was featured by The Needle Drop and named one of the best albums of 2020 by Treble, Riff Magazine, Angry Metal Guy and Machine Music. More attention from Decibel and Metal Hammer came two years later around The Silver Snake Unfolds, which was followed by the arrival of guitarist Ben Melton, as well as shows and tour dates with everyone from City of Caterpillar, pageninetynine and This Will Destroy You to Acid Bath, Eyehategod and Young Widows.
“If Bauhaus, Killing Joke, and Black Sabbath had a child, this would be it”, Metal Injection proclaimed about Wailin Storms.
Brooklyn Vegan concurred. “It’s just loud, heavy, dark rock music, and it’s awesome”.

Other early influences soak into the songwriting’s weathered fabric: Flannery O’Conner’s grotesque sensibility, Cormac McCarthy’s unflinching fatalism, Old Regular Baptist hymns. With its sideways gust of riffs and moaning chorus, “The Wind” blows loud enough to wake the entire cemetery.
“Because the heart wants what the body wants and the mind wants what the eyes want”, Storms gravely intones. “Won’t you take me through hell”.
Wailin Storms throw heavy splashes of surrealism into the fires of The Arsonist. “Many of the lyrics draw from the same imagery and emotions conjured by David Lynch, especially his film Wild at Heart”,Storms says. “Dead End” opens the album by taking a harrowing turn of its own when the drum’s rattle leads straight into a waking nightmare. “Calm night / Birds keep plucking out our eyes”.
While shrouded by a doomy and dreamy atmosphere, The Arsonist is inflamed by real life anxieties. Taking inspiration from René Magritte, the album’s cover art, which is heavily shadowed except for a tiny house gone up in flames, was painted by Storms himself. “These songs are steeped in the trials and tribulations of everyday life”, he says. The title track is slowly engulfed by love’s eternal flame. “Like the wind controls the sea”, he croons over the gentle sway of his guitar. “You always had a hold on me”. The thunderous climax surges with such feverish intensity that it threatens to send the night of passion up in smoke.
Amidst the wreckage of The Arsonist, Wailin Storms do find a semblance of peace. “It’s All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used to Be” ends the album with a ghostly flicker of gothic romance. “I know a place where we can sit and grow old”, Storms offers with grim assurance. A piano tolls like death’s bell as he glimpses up at a church that resembles a skull. “There’s a sliver of hope in coming to terms with death”, he concludes. “Life is temporary and that’s where its beauty lies”.

Jimmy Kay from The Metal Voice spoke to Drummer Gil Moore of Triumph about the bands recent Reloaded tour and upcoming documentary. Watch the interview below.
When asked about the feedback he got from the Reloaded tour 2026
“The feedback we got was unbelievable,. When the tour started, there were those fans that were like bring it on, can’t wait. Any version of Triumph is great by me. And then there were those who were the naysayers that were like, Rik (Emmett) is not going to show up, Gil (Moore) is not going to show up, they are going to mail it in or something. It’s going to be all on tape all of which was baloney because we proved them all wrong. One show at a time they got knocked down like bowling pins and you can see the social media, it was 99.9% positive with the exception of the one guy who was upset who could not get a parking spot. It was a confidence booster for us. From the stage you could see people crying, you could see people cheering and crying. This tour was very much like a family reunion. I think it shocked a lot of people that the band was playing at the level that we were now capable at playing and that we had no backup tapes and everything was live, nothing was mailed in, everything was real. I have known Rik Emmett my whole life, I have never seen him so happy as on this tour. it was written all over his face you could see it a mile away.’
When asked if the Triumph Reloaded Tour will continue
“Well we figured out that we are capable of it. yeah I suppose it depends on a lot of things, what we might do in the future. Definitely going to do another film (documentary) and that is almost in the can. I think we will probably play some more shows but until they are locked in and everyone is in agreement I don’t want to start shooting my mouth off.”
When asked about the direction of the new Triumph documentary
“The first documentary (Rock and Roll Machine) doesn’t answer what now? The guys (band) ride off into the sunset and who knows? I have been saying for 25 years I’m not going back on the road with Triumph, that will never happen and I was 100% serious when I said that and Rik said more or less the same thing too. I think (the new documentary) will be like having an insiders seat and seeing what was going on (before and during the reloaded tour) seeing the uncertainty and also my journey back into performing, whereas Rik and the rest of the and have been performing. The Metalworks team was filming the journey. I don’t think anybody could have forecasted how well it went.”
For their 50th-anniversary ” Reloaded” tour, Triumph expanded into a massive 5 band lineup. Founding members Rik Emmett (guitar/vocals) and Gil Moore (drums/vocals) were joined by a core supporting group consisting of Phil X (guitar), Todd Kerns (bass/vocals), and Brent Fitz (drums/keyboards).

Italian hardcore/metal veterans BROWBEAT return with “Dome of Lies”, a brand-new single that further expands the band’s aggressive and socially conscious approach. Following the release of their acclaimed 2024 album “Unbreakable”, the new track delivers the band’s trademark blend of groove-driven intensity and uncompromising energy, while tackling one of the defining issues of contemporary society.
The band commented:
“Inspired by The Truman Show, this song explores the blurred line between reality and performance in the age of social media. While Truman was trapped inside a manufactured world controlled by a director, today we willingly place ourselves under the spotlight, turning our lives into content and allowing algorithms to shape our perceptions. Blending sharp social commentary with an emotionally charged perspective, the track reflects on digital identity, curated realities, and the courage it takes to disconnect from constant validation. At its core, the song is about choosing authenticity over comfort and embracing the uncertainty of real life rather than the illusion of a perfectly controlled world”.
Based in a small town near Modena, Italy, BROWBEAT formed in early 1998 from the ashes of several local hardcore and metal bands, driven by a single goal: to create the most intense music possible by combining angst, heaviness, and aggressive vocals.
Just a few months after their formation, the band signed with the renowned Italian independent label Vacation House Records. In May 1999, BROWBEAT entered the studio to record their debut album, No Salvation (VH041), which was released in April 2000 to widespread critical acclaim. Praised by the Italian music press as “a monument engraved in marble” (Rumore Magazine) and “a relentless series of hammer blows” (Psycho! Magazine), the album established the band as one of the country’s most promising heavy acts. Their reputation was further cemented by an intense touring schedule across Italy, where their explosive live performances quickly became a defining trademark.
While writing new material, BROWBEAT teamed up with acclaimed British producer Dave Chang (Stampin’ Ground, Earthtone9). In August 2002, the band entered the studio to record their sophomore album, Audioviolence (CSK017). Blending crushing riffs, haunting melodies, rap-inspired vocal passages, devastating growls, and the modern edge of the emerging nu metal scene without abandoning their hardcore roots, the album marked a significant evolution in the band’s sound.
Later that year, UK label Casket Music/Copro Records signed BROWBEAT to a worldwide deal, releasing Audioviolence in April 2003. The band subsequently toured extensively throughout Europe, both as headliners and as support act, including a UK tour with Skindred. They also shared the stage on more than fifty occasions with Italian hardcore legends RAW POWER, alongside numerous other notable appearances.
After disbanding for a decade, BROWBEAT reunited in 2017 and released Remove the Control, marking a successful return to the scene. Following the reunion, the band performed alongside Slapshot, First Blood, and Sheer Terror, while also playing a number of headline shows.
During the pandemic, BROWBEAT began writing new material, eventually recording the self-produced five-track EP The Showdown, released in January 2022.
The band’s latest full-length album, Unbreakable, was released in the spring of 2024 through Time To Kill Records, further strengthening BROWBEAT’s blend of hardcore aggression, groove-driven metal, and uncompromising intensity.
Canada’s progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOÏVOD check in with a new video clip created by Costin Chioreanu / Twilight13Media for the song “Holographic Thinking” off their recently released ‘Symphonique‘ album, a special live release together with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra.
Additionally, the band also has important line-up news for their upcoming European tour run starting this weekend, which will feature former band member Eric Forrest a.k.a. “E-Force” as a stand-in replacement for original vocalist Denis Bélanger a.k.a. “Snake.“

E-Force was the lead singer and bass player for the formidable power trio years of VOÏVOD from 1994 to 2000 and checked in with the following comment himself:
“Greetings to all! I am honoured and blessed to be asked to fill in for Snake this summer, to keep the VOÏVOD fans, band, legacy in motion! I’m very thrilled to be part of this tour. I never ever imagined this, but I’m happy and motivated to step in and take care of business…Can’t wait to see you all! Merci, santé!”

Dutch heavy psych and stoner rock trailblazers THE MACHINE have announced the release of their long-awaited eighth studio album, Another Sun, arriving October 2, 2026. The album will be released through Blues Funeral Recordings and the band’s own label imprint Awe Records, with Blues Funeral handling North American and UK territories, while Awe Records will oversee the European release in partnership with Stickman Records. A first single from the album is expected to arrive in late July, offering a first taste of the band’s next chapter.
For the better part of two decades, THE MACHINE have carved out a reputation as one of the most genre-defying acts to emerge from the European underground. Doused in space and soaked in riffs, the power trio of David Eering (guitar/vocals), Chris Both (bass) and Klaas Dijkstra (drums) has continually redefined its sound, balancing a deep-rooted love for stoner rock with excursions into heavy psych, progressive rock, doom, ’90s alternative and expansive space rock. As one of the frontrunners of Europe’s second wave of stoner and heavy psych, the band established an early landmark with the now cult-classic Solar Corona before continuing to evolve with every release that followed.
“Another Sun is an important milestone to me personally, after a couple of years with (apparent) reduced activity of the band – it‘s the first record with this great lineup and the first one that I recorded at my own place Evolver Studio,“ David Eering comments. “Without the intention to do so, I think we managed to honor a more old school The Machine vibe while also stepping into the future. Can’t wait for this one to be released and to play shows in support of it.”

Recorded in the fall of 2025 at Evolver Studio, Eering’s newly built recording facility in Dordrecht, Another Sun captures what is arguably the strongest incarnation of THE MACHINE to date. Intricate in groove and rich in dynamic songwriting, the album digs deeper into classic heavy-toned songcraft while leaving ample room for the free-flowing jams that have always been central to the band’s identity. Rather than reinventing themselves, THE MACHINE sharpen their unmistakable sonic fingerprint, reconnecting with the freeform spirit of their early work through a modern lens. They took their time to mature, only to return stronger, heavier and more inspired than ever.
Already announced with a surprise full-album performance at this year’s Roadburn Festival, Another Sun signals the beginning of a new chapter for THE MACHINE. After nearly two decades as one of Europe’s most consistently adventurous heavy rock bands, the trio now steps onto a broader international stage, reaffirming their place alongside legendary Dutch acts like 35007, Beaver and 7Zuma7, while finally bringing their expansive blend of stoner rock, heavy psych and space-driven grooves to a much wider audience.
