Los Angeles rock band 96 BITTER BEINGS has released an incendiary new anthem and final single, ‘Fire Skyline,’ from their long-awaited, second full-length album, Synergy Restored, that’s due on November 4th from Nuclear Blast.
Deron Miller, founding songwriter, vocalist and guitarist, explains the meaning behind the song: “‘Fire Skyline’ is simply about 3 teenagers, 2 boys and a girl, that conspire together to set Hollywood on fire at midnight. After successfully setting up their implements of arson, they head to to the roof of a 50 floor hotel. Sitting on the edge with their legs over the side, they pass around a bottle of vodka and watch the panic and chaos ensue. The sight of the horizon becoming a dark orange is the most incredible thing they’ve ever seen.”
Years in the making, 96 BITTER BEINGS’ Synergy Restored is 11 songs of relentless power and vibe. Four-on-the-floor, fuzzy and visceral, proper rock n’ roll made by an actual band, rather than a bunch of over-processed samples and otherwise stale shenanigans. Songs like ‘Vaudeville’s Revenge,’ ’90 Car Pile-Up,’ and ‘Wish Me Dead’ offer vivid reminders of the truth-telling prowess of guitars, bass, and drums. Miller is on fire, weaponizing the same knack for memorable musical epiphanies behind projects like Foreign Objects, World Under Blood and CKY.

Highly influenced by discomfort, there can be no compromise in the structure of what Ontario, Canada hardcore/metal quartet TEETH are producing because what flows from them is purely honest, and quite unlike anything that has been heard before.
Their adherence to this artistic integrity is a huge part of what caught the eye of heavy metal foundry, Nuclear Blast Records. Recently signed to the label, this new union stands only to further amplify into the new year.
In celebration of the signing, the band is offering fans their 575 EP which contains four already released songs. The EP will be available as a clear cassette on October 28th.
The band comments: “TEETH has always been – and always will be – a passion project for us. A visceral creative outlet not to be marred by outside influence or external pressure to achieve anything but creating music that we enjoy. We promised ourselves that if the opportunity to work with a label ever arose, they’d have to share our artistic vision, and ultimately want to help TEETH connect with everyone who’d listen. When we began talking to Nuclear Blast at the beginning of the pandemic, it became immediately apparent they checked those boxes. Growing up listening to bands like HATEBREED, MINISTRY, and SLAYER and eventually discovering artists like NAILS, it felt like Nuclear Blast understood everything TEETH stands for, and aspires to be. So, with that said, we’re excited to finally announce that we are now part of the Nuclear Blast family. We’re just getting started.”
Vocalist Blake Prince commented on the signing: “We are extremely thrilled to finally announce that we’ve signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Records. This has been something we’ve had to keep close to our chest throughout the pandemic and we’re eager to get to work. To be a part of this legendary roster is an honor and a perfect home for TEETH. Ideally, your label is a partner. Human beings with a strong passion for growing artistic culture and individuality, who believe in you and are working hard to help facilitate our vision. We feel confident that the cooperation with Nuclear Blast will help bring this band to the next level.”
TEETH are of the philosophy that every subsequent part of the song needs to be more disgusting, uncomfortable, and nasty than the part before it. “It’s supposed to feel frantic; super visceral and aggressive,” explains Prince.“Pain is an adhesive, and in a time where there’s a lot of pent up emotion towards friends, family, everything around us… it gives people a nice vehicle to air their grievances.”
Only a couple of things remain to be seen with TEETH: when will their new album drop, and what bands can you look forward to seeing them grace the stage with? Keep your eyes on Nuclear Blast Records and TEETH socials for updates.
TEETH is: Chris LeMasters | Guitarist Blake Louis Prince | Vocals Marc Quagliarini | Bass Mat Stewart | Drums
Today, metal heroes SABATON make an exciting announcement: With their fascination for the stories of World War I and two dedicated studio albums filled to the brim with stories from this conflict, the band from Falun have decided to dive even deeper into this topic with their newest release: The EP trilogy entitled Echoes Of The Great War. This new EP trilogy features new songs specifically about World War I, coupled with topically related catalogue music. You read that right! SABATON has been busy in the studio recording some new music for their fans.
With this WWI collection, the band aims to present this music in a different way, enabling the listener to familiarise themselves with these incredible war stories, while simultaneously quenching the thirst for metal music.
Commenting on the new project, Pär Sundström states: “This trilogy complements our two studio albums The Great War and The War To End All Wars. We were definitely not ready to close our World War I chapter. We wanted to continue the journey and let it echo a little longer in the hearts and minds of our fans.”
The first in the series, Weapons Of The Modern Age, is OUT NOW. In times of conflict, science is very much linked to the war system. The First World War witnessed some of the biggest leaps in scientific evolution, weaponizing land, sea and skies in ways never witnessed before. This EP sheds light on the powerful and devastating tactics used to fight the war, and kicking off this release is SABATON’s new track, ‘Father’.
Sharing his insight on the track, Joakim Broden declares: “Our new song ‘Father’ is a dark track about a very controversial person. Fritz Haber, the man who weaponized lethal gas, is responsible for about 4 billion people being alive today thanks to the Haber-Bosch process that he won a Nobel Prize for. It takes some serious thought to wrap your head around his story. Things aren’t always easy to understand or simply black and white, but rather all shades of grey. ‘Father’ really forces you to think a bit more than the average song you hear on the radio.”
SABATON is releasing a limited edition digipak in limited numbers, so if you want to get your hands on a physical copy of the EP for your collection, be quick! Get the digipak (LIMITED) > http://nblast.de/Sabaton-WOTMA
Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the other two EPs in this new trilogy:
Heroes Of The Great War The songs on the second EP in the collection, Heroes Of The Great War, are a nod to some of the Great War’s fearless heroes who left a legacy worthy of a thousand songs. Men and women pushed themselves to their physical and psychological limits, accomplishing almost superhuman things. In this EP, SABATON pay tribute to heroes whose unique stories resonated with the band, and whose narratives are truly inspiring.
Stories From The Western Front The third EP in the series, Stories From The Western Front, features songs about some of the most gripping tales from one of World War I’s main theatres of war. These stories, some of which are unimaginable in this day and age, depict the chaos, danger and instability soldiers faced on the daily, who were fighting in the name of their countries.
For the sake of atmospheric continuity, and staying true to the sound of both The Great War and The War To End All Wars albums, SABATON have continued to work with Black Lounge Studios – more notably, Jonas Kjellgren, the band’s long time producer and recording engineer.
The three new EP releases will be available on all major digital music services. SABATON will also release an exclusive, limited edition Digipak with every EP.
A few weeks ago, SABATON announced their very first full length movie The War To End All Wars that the band has been working on for two years together with Yarnhub animation studios. The War To End All Wars is a cohesive, thought-provoking and emotionally charged piece with a heavy focus on storytelling. It features members of the band, both in real life and animated, and a lot of research and effort has been put into it to ensure it depicts history in the most accurate way possible – this is something that the band is very passionate about.
SABATON had a dream of creating something that’s entertaining but with great educational value, and that dream has become a reality after two years of hard work.
