The never tiring Danish death metal geniuses, BAEST, have played their biggest and most breathtaking concert of their career at this year’s COPENHELL FESTIVAL.
The band shared the mainstage with the likes of Metallica, KISS, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Mastodon and took this opportunity to put on a massive production and captured the whole thing on film for the history books.
Now, BAEST are happy to share a first taste from this legendary show. ‘Ecclesia’, the epic death metal thrill ride from the recently released “Justitia” (EP) can be now watched HERE
Still electrified by their performance, BAEST find the following words: “Getting the opportunity to perform on the main stage Helviti at Denmarks greatest festival Copenhell, was monumental for us and quite unreal. This was the biggest crowd we’ve ever faced, and we hope you’ll want to relive it with us! Enjoy this live version of ‘Ecclesia’.”
After earning a Swedish Grammis Award earlier this year for their critically acclaimed latest album Where the Gloom Becomes Sound (2021), TRIBULATION have now returned with a new standalone single and video: “Hamartia“.
A first recording to feature new guitarist Joseph Tholl, “Hamartia” was recorded with Robert Pehrsson, mixed by Tom Dalgety (who previously mixed Where the Gloom Becomes Sound), mastered by Magnus Lindberg and comes with artwork by TRIBULATION guitarist Adam Zaars.
“Hamartia” – which was directed by Johan Bååth & Astrid Bergdahl – can be viewed below.
TRIBULATION’s Adam Zaars commented about “Hamartia” as follows: “This is a song about the many shades of the word Hamartia. It’s an angry gothic tragedy sonically, and introduces Joseph on guitar. This is the first of a few. We hope you like it!“
After a successful run of festivals shows across Europe, North America and South America this summer, TRIBULATION will finally be back on the road starting last week, joining Watain, Abbath and Bölzer on the “Chariots of Fire” European Tour 2022.
TRIBULATION’s latest, fifth full-length – Where the Gloom Becomes Sound – indisputably elevated the Swedes to the highest echelons and turned out to be their most expressive and inventive album to-date. ” We immersed ourselves in the world of myth and magic,” says guitarist and founding member Adam Zaars. “With a specific focus on elemental magic, and the elements, in general, from both the Western and Indian esoteric traditions, not the Buddhist four elements but the five elements. Myth and magic are obviously not something new in the world of Tribulation, but it got a bit more specific on this album. We just present it from a slightly different perspective.“
Italian metal legends LACUNA COIL present their new single “Swamped XX”. This song follows the previously launched track “Tight Rope XX”, which is also taken off the upcoming re-issue version “Comalies XX”, to be released on October 14th, 2022.
“Comalies XX” is an entire deconstructed and remade re-recording of Lacuna Coil’s third full-length album “Comalies” from 2002.
True to the maxim ‘Never change a winning team’ the band decided to release the opener of the album – like its original predecessor “Swamped” back in 2002 – as a single again. Same energy and drama as 20 years ago but dressed for 2022 and ready to convince fans from day one and newly won listeners alike.
The next chapter in the epic journey of LORNA SHORE has arrived leading up to the release of “Pain Remains” that is due for a release October 14th: “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames”.
The band comments on the upcoming Pain Trilogy: “The Pain Trilogy is a three part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, “Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames” begins with the main character becoming enamored by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away.”
Legendary New York metal masters JACK STARR’S BURNING STARR release their first ever career spanning anthology.
Three CDs in a deluxe digipak spanning the bands long career since 1984, encompassing the key studio albums, with additional rarities and live tracks from Jack’s personal archive. In addition to this, extensive liner notes and seldom seen photos make for an altogether compelling package.
This release will come hot on the heels of the brand new Burning Starr album “Souls Of The Innocent” which is already generating fantastic reviews worldwide. Their style has been described as “an essential blend of Judas Priest and Riot style melodic mid 80s traditional power metal.”
Jack Starr throughout his career has consistently performed and recorded with world-class musicians, cultivated a devoted fan base with his signature style and inspired musicians who have kept his legacy relevant in recent years via the symphonic and power metal movements.
In the mid-to-late ’80s his band Burning Starr became a cult sensation with releases like ‘Rock The American Way” (which Hit Parader magazine called “an album that rocks with both strength and precision) “Blaze Of Glory” and “No Turning Back” . The band also became a springboard for musicians who would go on to play with Danger Danger, White Lion, Yngwie Malmsteen, Quiet Riot and Widowmaker, among others.

October 21, 2022 will see the release of Born Demon, the sixth studio album by Norwegian trve heavy metal force Sahg, coming out on Drakkar Entertainment. Following previously-released album single, the blistering “Fall Into The Fire”, the trio has now unleashed a brand new song alongside a sick video clip! From its first tone, one can be sure: With “House Of Worship”, Sahg brings back the classic heavy metal vibe!
“House Of Worship says a lot about Sahg’s new approach on writing music,” Guitarist & vocalist Olav Iversen reveals. “We are not trying to prove our integrity or show off our song-writing intellect. We are at peace with that. We just thought, let’s bring back that classic heavy metal vibe, and write something that makes people raise their fists in the air and scream along. That’s how the opening drum riff came about. Not a guitar riff for once, but a drum riff, which is the base of the entire song. Everything else is built around that. The vocals play around on top of the strict rhythm, before the song breaks down into a slow, heavy part in the middle, and then gets back at it again.
The lyrics simply promote religious liberation. Freedom of believing in whatever you want. Don’t let anyone tell you what to believe in. Why would anyone try to convince you to believe in the same thing as them, unless they wanted to gain power? Why else would they threaten you with eternal suffering in hell? I can’t see any other reasonable explanation, and that’s where organized religion comes from. It is an instrument of power, rather than a communion of faith.”
Entering the Norwegian metal scene in 2006 as a classic doom band, wasn’t necessarily a recipe for success. Black metal was still the big thing coming from Norway, and there wasn’t much space for bands from other subgenres. Even with Gorgoroth members King ov Hell and Kvitrafn in the line-up, adding a touch of blackness, it wasn’t very likely that Sahg would get an instant break-through. But, the band took the heavy music scene by storm with their blistering, chart-breaking debut Sahg I.
Throughout the following decade, Sahg released five critically acclaimed albums, and played several tours and festivals across Europe, the United States and Asia to date. They have toured as support act for bands like Motörhead, W.A.S.P., Opeth, Clutch, Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir and Enslaved to name just a few, and appeared at prestigous festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Summerbreeze, Sweden Rock Festival, Hard Rock Hell, Tons of Rock, Inferno Festival and Beyond the Gates among many more. To this day, Sahg has always stayed trve to their doom and heavy metal roots, and still holds the throne as Norway’s high guardians of doomed heavy metal. They are the bastard sons of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Pentagram and Judas Priest. Classic heavy metal for the new age, with a desire for the occult, aversion for religion, and a gloomy gaze into the inevitable apocalypse, all served with a cold bite of Norwegian Blackness. With the ruthless force of a classic power trio and their upcoming album Born Demon under their belt, Sahg is part of a renaissance that will bring vintage doom and classic heavy metal back to the masses!
