SCARLET have released a second single ‘Will’, taken from the band’s upcoming debut album.
The band backgrounds the new single: “Will” is the second single from Scarlet’s upcoming debut album out late 2022. Working title for the song was ‘Bon Jovi goes Grunge’ and that expresses well about the song’s multidimensionality and surprise factor. The text focuses in the faults every individual has. Are they good thing or bad or are those faults that make us whole? “I’m loving these demons within. They all make me who I am.”
Scarlet is a 1999 founded Grunge band from Eastern Finland. In 2015 the band returned from 10 year hiatus. Even if the instrumental skills were in a bit of a rust the good old feeling and groove was found pretty fast after they gathered to their rehearsal room. New material started to take it’s form and that material became their debut full length album. Long hiatus had made their sound even stronger. The debut album was recorded in Astia Studio by Anssi Kippo with full analog studio equipment. The debut album is to be released in autumn 2022. It is a package full of rough energy for the Grunge era music fans. Authentic music with strong vocals.
Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA and founder of TRISTANIA) has released the 10th MORTEMIA song from ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ today. The track features Zora Cock (Blackbriar) on guest vocals and it is available on all digital platforms as of today the 17th of June 2022. The track is entitled ‘What Else is There?, and it is a cover version of the Norwegian band Röyksopp’s original version released back in 2005’.
Morten Veland:
“I am proud and honoured to introduce Zora Cock from Blackbriar as my special guest for ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’. The 10th song is entitled ‘What Else is There?’, and will be available on all digital platforms on the 17th of June 2022. This song is a cover version of the Norwegian band Röyksopp originally released back in 2005. Sirenia and Blackbriar performed at the same festival in The Netherlands some years ago, and that’s when I first discovered the band and Zora’s unique voice. Zora has a really haunting and distinct voice that really stands out, a signature voice so to say. As soon as she starts singing you can immediately tell it’s her. After the show in The Netherlands I was an instant fan of Blackbriar and Zora. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Zora on board this project, and I am really looking forward to sharing this song with you all. I find this song very unique and special and it will definitely add to the great variety on The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions.”
Zora Cock:
“A little while ago I went to a Sirenia show and met up with Morten afterwards. The show was amazing and so was the meet-up with Morten! He played me the song he had in mind for me and it really made an impression on me. I was so enthusiastic about it that I started recording my vocals the next day. This song shows a different side of me, yet I still feel like it fits me very well. I love music that can put you in some sort of trance, and I think this one will do that to you. Working with Morten feels like a wish come true, and I hope you’ll love this collaboration as much as I do!”
After 11 years of silence Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland is once more active with his solo project Mortemia, this time with a brand new concept. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ is a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene, so far the following singers has contributed:
Madeleine Liljestam (Eleine)
Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion, Ayreon, MaYaN, Dark Horse White Horse)
Alessia Scolletti (Temperance, ERA)
Liv Kristine (Liv Kristine, ex-Theatre of Tragedy, ex-Leaves Eyes)
Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum, The Dark Side of the Moon)

Finnish RIOGHAN is set to release her debut album ‘Different Kinds Of Losses’ later in 2022 via Inverse Records. The album has been made in collaboration with Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Einar Solberg (Leprous), Teemu Liekkala (ex-Manufacturer’s Pride, Red Eleven) and Teemu Koskela (ex-Celesty).
The third single Sight from the upcoming album is released today and a stunning music video made by Aarni Visuals can be seen here:
Rioghan comments: “Sight” brings a story to the feeling when you fantasise about revenge so much it fills your whole perspective with passive-aggressive emotion and you no longer have clear sight of other things or what is normal. When the thought of revenge consumes you slowly, maybe leading to your own demise instead of the one you’ve sought to bring down. With this composition I had the pleasure to work with Jonas Renkse, and I was of course terrified of my own (self-alleged) incompetence but soon Jonas made me realise I actually have some good stuff going on. Jonas picked this exact poem he wanted to work on, we got into the vibe and the whole process from there was very effortless and encouraging. This was also the first song from the album we got ready and only made some really minor arrangement additions later on.
Jonas Renkse comments: “I’d never written a song for someone else before but when this opportunity showed up I jumped at the chance. I was already in writing mode and had everything set up. I think me and Rioghan found a starting point quickly and could just go with the flow on this one. We were bouncing ideas for a bit and then the song pretty much wrote itself.”
Last Breath Of Rock ’N’ Roll is a retrospective to the moment when you heard Rock music for the first time.
RIMBACHER is a band from central Finland that has built it’s foundations to traditional 80’s rock music. During spring 2022 the band has released couple of singles from their upcoming debut album. “Cocaine Eyes & Nicotine Stains” introduce the hybrid sound of Aussie Rock and 80’s Hair Rock, heavily riffing “Chasing Ghosts” and catchy rock anthem “Loving You (Is Loving A Broken)”.
”’Last Breath of Rock ‘N’ Roll’ represents the style of music that was my first personal touch to Rock music. This song is about the spontanious reaction that young guy felt when he listened to Rock music for the first time. So we made really rough and stripped song out of it – a tribute to the deepest essence of Rock. So raise your fist in the air and move your head!” singer Niko Rimbacher enthusiastically tells.
“Even as the track title refers to the ending of life the whole idea is actually the opposite. It’s about how to fill the huge gap that the current rock legends will leave after retiring and leaving the field open. And how to respect that heritage with total dedication” bass player and lyricist Reisca Morani continues.
The band also releases a music video that is built from the footage filmed on the Rimbacher shows.
Polish stoner rockers TAXI CAVEMAN have announced their sophomore album “Galactic Slope”, coming out via Interstellar Smoke Records.
“Galactic Slope” is a journey through cosmos and our need to explore free, improvised playing. We took desert, ashes from Mars, stars around Jupiter and covered it with mud coming from doomish side of the band. This album is a bridge between our first self-titled record and the third one which is in progress right now.

“Taxi Caveman hail from Warsaw, Poland and consist of Bartosz Nauman – (bass/vocals); Piotr Rutkowski (guitar/vocals) and Vincent Grabb (drums/vocals), they are a trio who jam grooves that blend furious stoner metal with elements of punk, sludge, doom. psych and classic rock that is then decorated in a variety of vocal tones, it is not what you would call an atypical Polish sound but it does carry all those traits of heaviness and intensity we have come to expect from that part of Eastern Europe.”
“Taxi Caveman are not a doom band, a sludge band or a punk band but at the same time they are all those things, they are a rock band who can turn their hands to all of rocks various forms and styles and do so while still managing to sound fresh and original. Taxi Caveman have great musical chops and on this their debut album they display those chops to great effect across a wide spectrum of styles, where these guys take their music next is going to be very interesting indeed. When it comes to contemporary thrash, there are few bands that can stand toe-to-toe with Germany’s VULTURE. Establishing their status with 2016’s Victim To The Blade EP and 2017’s The Guillotine, then cementing their reputation with 2019’s Ghastly Waves And Battered Graves, they returned last year with the mighty Dealin’ Death, one of the most ruthless records the genre has seen. “Take all our key elements – fierce riffing, halftone-shifts, aggressive vocals, huge toms, changing dynamics, horror-synths and classical twin guitar harmonies and cast it in a mould, then you have ‘Dealin’ Death’,” says guitarist Stefan Castevet.
