Finnish heavy metal act JUSTICE THEORY have announced their new EP “Beaten Will Rise”!
The EP includes 4 new tracks of pure metal attitude! It starts with the massive intro song “Beaten Will Rise” that leads you to the energetic first single “Fight Until You Die”. The rounds harden with high pitch vocals and fastness of the second single “The Abandoned” and eventually the EP ends with the most epic and rugged song released to date, “End of Chapter”.
Guitarist/vocalist Valtteri Saharinen states: “This EP started to form in early 2021 as I came up with the main riff to a song called “The Abandoned”. The riff itself got me inspired for a short album that handles themes such as loneliness, meaning of communality, mental endurance and pushing forward no matter what happens in your life. After the kickstart I decided to make three diverse songs about those headlines but at the same time keep the package focused on my mission. The end result became more than I could imagine, and as a band we are more than excited to finally let you hear this aggressive but controlled mayhem of our best songs due to date! I hope you like it, see you in the SHOW!
CHLOE TRUJILLO & RAV MEDIC have released their latest single, ‘A Ladder to the Sun’, out now across digital platforms, through Golden Robot Records.
‘A Ladder to the Sun’ distinguishes itself from the heavier sound of Chloe Trujillo & Rav Medic’s previous singles. The layering of multiple vocals, guitars and strings together create a wide atmospheric journey, while lyrically Chloe takes you along on a journey of self-discovery and hope.
Born in Paris France, ChloeTrujillo has immersed herself in the art/music world from a young age. Her music is infused with anything from rap, metal, gypsy & blues. She first got her Visa through performing in NYC cabarets & musical theatre. From there, she was invited to LA by Gail Zappa to record the Frank Zappa cover ‘The Torture Never Stops’. Chloe is also wife of Robert Trujillo from Metallica/Suicidal Tendencies.
Mark Dalbeth (Rav Medic), who is originally from New Zealand, made the move to Australia and started rock outfit Bellusira, who went on to release two notable albums and move to America briefly under management from Will Hunt (Evanescence). The band toured the USA a few times and had Koichi Fukuda from Static-X take over guitar duties. Once that project came to an end, Mark decided to stay in America and continue his musical pursuit.
Both parties met in early 2021 when asked to be a part of the Global Green Charity Event held at the Troubadour in LA.
After connecting online and having a mutual respect for each other’s music, Trujillo and Dalbeth suggested the idea of doing a collaboration. The track ‘Lightning Strikes Twice’ was the outstanding result. The feedback from the single was strong and they both enjoyed working together so much, that they decided to continue to work together under the banner Chloe Trujillo & Rav Medic.
Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers APOCALYPTICA have just issued the following:
We are so excited to share out new song, “Bolero”! It’s our take on the Maurice Ravel classic that has inspired so many over the years. This has been a true labor of love, we hope you fall in love with the peace as we did.
Eicca says: “We had a long list of great classical pieces that we could propably turn into Apocalyptica tracks. But you never know before you work on an idea and see whether it starts to grow and take on a life of its own. When making “covers” we want to feel that we are bringing in something cool, new and original to the piece. Making a proper version means that you need to “re-compose ” the music, absorb and then reinterpret it in a new and fresh way.
Bolero had the musical elements required for a remake, haunting melody and the great rhythmic patterns. But since we are Apocalyptica, we wanted to bring the fury of the music into 2022, with more of an edge and of course, more metal!!!”
As you may have guessed, this single is the first of three instrumental classical tracks we are releasing on a brand new EP entitled “Metal Classic, Classic Metal”. We’re extremely excited about this project and we hope you wind up loving it as much as we do!
June 10 will see the release of “Onward”, the new album by melodic death metal act BLACK THERAPY. Nine brand new tracks by the band from Rome, Italy, packed with gloomy and sorrow-fueled soundscapes, with catchy melodies and a perfect balance of aggression and dark, doomy atmosphere. In support of the new album, today Black Therapy have unleashed their brand new single “Blindness”.
The track comes along with a music video, that you can watch here:
Black Therapy comments: “This new album was written during the pandemic and we are proud of the outcome. Compared to ‘Echoes of Dying Memories’ this is a more aggressive album, but it still retains the emotionally gripping sound, which can be considered our trademark. We also tried something different on some of the songs and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.“
“Onward” will be coming out via Swedish label Black Lion Records and was recorded, mixed and mastered at Blue Ocean recording studio. The majestic artwork was done by Simon Bossert.
The time has come to wield your sword and charge back to the battlefield, as Finnish heavy metal force BATTLELORE returns with their brand new studio album The Return Of The Shadow! More than 10 long years since their last offering, Doombound (2011), June 3, 2022 sees the Tolkien-inspired masters of epic, fantasy metal release their much awaited, seventh record on Napalm Records.
Previously released first singles “Firekeeper” and “Chambers Of Fire” have already showcased the exceptional songwriting skills the Lappeenranta-based fantasy metal warriors are offering on their forthcoming album, The Return Of The Shadow, and now, the band has premiered a music video for magical new single “Elvenking”!
Video director Markku Kirves says: “It is very rare to get an opportunity to write this kind of epic video, so I didn’t hesitate to say yes when Jyri messaged me if I would be interested in making it. Back in the day, Battlelore’s “Storm of the Blades” was one of the first videos I directed, so it was nice to unite again with the band.”
The band adds: “We knew Markkus’s talent as a video director and his enthusiasm, and when we asked him to shoot the video for us, it was so overwhelming and a pure pleasure to work with such a professional he is. The “Elvenking” video enters to Tolkien’s Middle-earth from multiple angles, combining noticeable characters and scenes from Tolkien’s written poetry.”
The energy BATTLELORE delivers on The Return Of The Shadow is immediately evident, and without any doubt making this record one of their strongest, heaviest and best works to date. Named after Tolkien’s original, shelved title for his legendary epic fantasy novel Fellowship of the Ring, BATTLELORE’s brand new album features nine Middle-earth themed songs, shining with the blistering aura the band has become known and loved for.
The Return Of The Shadow was recorded by Janne Saksa at the Sound Supreme Studios, Finland, and was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studios. As a special gift to fans, the album will also include a bonus EP, entitled Lost Lands, that features three songs written around the beginning of the band’s hiatus that, soundwise, are different from the tracks on the main album.
The Return Of The Shadow today, on June 3, 2022 through Napalm Records, orders are available at THIS LOCATION!
Thrash powerhouse GENERATION KILL released the official music video for single “Evil Eye” featuring Chris Poland. The single is from their new album, MKUltra that is out now via Blood Blast Distribution and Art Is War Records. The album guest features Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), Chris Poland (Megadeth, Ohm), John Joseph (Cromags, Bloodclot), as well as, Grammy Award-winning pianist Ronnie King who guests on the final track “La Fin Du Monde.”
“In ’85, I dropped the needle onto an album called “Killing is my Business….and Business is Good” and heard a guitar tone I’d never heard before. Ever since, Chris Poland has been one of my favorite guitarists of all time. To collaborate with him on this song is one of the greatest honors in my musical career. The solos he did on this song are mind-blowing. The unique style and tone is so unmistakably Chris,” says Rob Dukes.
He adds, “The song itself was inspired by a short story from Edgar Allan Poe “The Tell-Tale Heart” written in the 1800’s. Our drummer Rob Youells connected us with the filmmaker Wacy Jahn, who he had worked with on a previous project, and Wacy used our vision to create nothing short of a horror masterpiece. We couldn’t be prouder of this one.”
The band will be heading out on tour this summer with Dead By Wednesday on the Generation Dead Tour 2022!!
Generation Kill is an American thrash metal band formed in New York City in 2008 by Rob Dukes (ex-Exodus). Dukes, on hiatus from touring with Exodus, wanted to funnel his excess creative energy and aggression into something new. After the inclusion of Jason Trenczer, Lou Lehman and Sam Inzerra, the band began writing and recording their first album, Red, White, & Blood, featuring several hit singles including, “Feast for the Wolves” and “Hate” as well as a cover of Nine Inch Nails “Wish” which enjoyed heavy radio rotation.
Due to creative differences with Inzerra and the untimely death of guitarist Lou Lehman, Jay Velez and Jim DeMaria (Heathen) joined and began recording their sophomore album, We’re All Gonna Die with renowned producer Zuess (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed). Shortly after its release, the band embarked on a European tour with fellow Exodus member Lee Altus’ band, Heathen. The album spawned several successful singles, including “Prophets of War” which went to number one on Sirius Liquid Metal’s “Dirty Dozen” and remained one of the top requested songs on the channel.
Following the success of their second album, drummer Rob Youells joined the band and they went into the studio, this time with Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal to record an album with founding member of Run-D.M.C, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels. The project was initially titled DMC Generation Kill before becoming its own entity, later renamed Fragile Mortals.
Teaming up with Nick Bellmore (Hatebreed, Corpsegrinder), Generation Kill has finally released their long-awaited third full-length album, MKUltra. A powerful collection of songs, MKUltra incorporates everything an aficionado of the thrash metal genre has been longing to hear for the last decade: crunchy riffing, capturing melodies and killer solos mixed with brutal, thought-provoking lyrics. Their heaviest album to date, the album showcases the diverse musical backgrounds of each seasoned band member, a signature sound which has defined and allowed Generation Kill to remain a band without limitations.
