NEAR DUSK, the hard riffin’ mile high stoner rock, psychedelia and heavy blues drenched band, return with a brand-new single, ‘The Way It Goes’, which is out now on all digital platforms via Iron Head Records / Golden Robot Records.
‘The Way It Goes’ is the first single lifted from Near Dusk’s forthcoming sophomore record and crosses all borders of modern rock ‘n’ roll. With woody riffs throughout, this track is about someone who’s destined to let you down every time.
Laden with heavy woody riffs, slow driving tempos, and plenty of fuzz to go around, Near Dusk is fronted by guitarist and vocalist Matthew Orloff, low end soldier Kellen McInerney, and rhythm heathen Jon Orlof. The band maintains an original style while crossing all boundaries of classic stoner Rock.
ANDY MARTONGELLI, six-strings virtuoso and Guitarist of the Metal bands ELLEFSON and ARTHEMIS, releases the new video of the instrumental song “Army Of Darkness“.
Andy states: ” AOD is a fiery, melodic, dark song, a sort of soundtrack that combines many sides of me and the Music influences that inspired me through the years. I’m very proud of this piece of Music and I’m ready to write more songs with the same enthusiasm and freedom that inspired me to write my first instrumental solo album titled “Spiral Motion“!
Let the madness begin!”
This instrumental song, inspired by the famous movie “Army Of Darkness”, was written to celebrate Andy’s new one of a kind “Ibanez AOD” Guitar, that the famous Ibanez LACS (Los Angeles Custom Shop) built exclusively for him.

April 22nd saw the release of “Vermillion Oceans”, the brand new album by German melodic death metal act CREDIC. Today the band has unleashed a lyric video for the track “Chosen Ordeal”, that you can watch below.
CREDIC comments:
“Chosen Ordeal is 3 minutes of pure rage. It’s fierce, fast and furious. If you like you’re coffee just the way you like your metal, this is for you. But a gallon of it.”
Featuring ten brand new tracks, with their second full-length record CREDIC deliver a furious and ferocious, yet emotional metal Iliad. An epic brand of melodic death metal that is, despite upholding the very DNA of the genre, free and bold, charging with vigour and embellished by a monumental aura of longing not unlike the feeling you get when you gaze at the starlit sky in wonder and terror. Imagine a cross between Gothenburg metal and the score to “Stranger Things”, “Vermillion Oceans” sounds like a massive, zeitgeisty metal album taking a stroll through Hawkins, Indiana. The album is available HERE
Irish-Australian rockers from Sydney’s inner west, FLICKERTAIL, have released their new live single, ‘Small Town BBC Murder Mysteries (Live in the Studio)’ on digital platforms, through Golden Robot Records.
FLICKERTAIL play guitar-fuelled rock and roll exactly the way it’s supposed to be played. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Thin Lizzy, the Dubliners, Airbourne and The Darkness, the band honed their sound in the garages and booze dens of Sydney.
Their new single, ‘Small Town BBC Murder Mysteries (Live in the Studio)’ has been liftedfrom the upcoming live EP Afterlife, which is slated for release in June. Through sickly-sweet guitars and call-backs to the worst decisions of our young lives, this song tells the story of a reformed grog monster looking back on his glory days. A lot of us dread settling down and living a quiet life, but if you’ve enjoyed life in the fast lane a bit of silence can do you good.
Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast free-to-play mobile game is excited to announce a major in-game collaboration, this time with Swedish extreme metal band, ARCH ENEMY!
Following successful collaborations last year, 2022 started with Legacy of the Beast teaming up with Disturbed and then Powerwolf and now Arch Enemy enters the fold.
Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast wanted a character that would fit perfectly into a story with Doomsday Eddie, a post-apocalyptic warrior whose portents of global annihilation went unheard (based on Iron Maiden’s classic track “2 Minutes to Midnight” from their legendary 1984 album Powerslave). The result of this collaboration is a week-long event called ‘Atomic Sunset’. The Queen Beast character is influenced by Arch Enemy’s upcoming single and video for “Sunset Over The Empire”, which will both be released soon, on May 20th. The single can be pre-ordered as a very limited 7inch and pre-saved on digital platforms.
The week-long event will take fans and players on a journey with Eddie and Queen Beast, a regal warrior harnessing the fierce powers of wild animals, striking fear in the hearts of all who oppose her! As they walk through a post-war dystopian wasteland, society at large is witnessing the rise of a mutant species, a creature that is the product of the nuclear war. They are driven to destroy all of what is left of the natural world; human and animal kind. Queen Beast and her companion GreyClaw must work together with Doomsday Eddie to gather survivors and rebuild the community while fighting mutant henchmen. Future generations’ survival lies in their hands.

When asked about hearing Iron Maiden for the first time, Arch Enemy Bassist Sharlee D’Angelo said, “I first heard of Maiden through a compilation album called Metal for Muthas – then a couple of months later I saw them in concert and it blew me away because I’ve never seen a band with that kind of energy and musically it was just, like nothing I’ve ever heard before.”
Lead singer Alissa White-Gluz added, “I find that their stage performances and personas really inspire me too. I remember one of the first times I saw them (IM) perform and I saw Bruce Dickenson basically do a flying jump, over the monitors while singing and landing on his knees in front of the crowd – and I thought what an amazing frontman he is…running around on stage, no matter the song, keeping the notes – I knew that I wanted to be a front person who also puts on a super wild show like that!!”
Over the years the game has expanded to include 25 dungeons and 6 unique Worlds, from the pits of Hell, Ancient Egypt, World War II to the far future, hundreds of characters including 90 Eddies based on classic Maiden album covers. A vast array of enemies – corrupt Demons (Lucifer, Baphomet), Gods (Horus, Osiris, Odin) and Monsters, a bloody Player vs Player Battle Arena and a ruthless Gauntlet feature designed to satisfy new players and hardcore long-term players. The latest feature ‘Clans’ allows players to join forces with their blood brothers to complete team tasks and face off against monstrous Raid Bosses. All to an in-game soundtrack of over 30 Iron Maiden tracks including – “The Trooper”, “Where Eagles Dare”, “Aces High” and more.
Masters of infernal metal since their inception 25 years ago, Swedish blackened Thrash Metal pioneers WITCHERY return with their 8th studio album “Nightside”, to be released on July 22nd, 2022 worldwide via Century Media Records.
Following 2017’s much acclaimed “I Am Legion” album, “Nightside” was recorded with the WITCHERY line-up consisting of Jensen (Guit., The Haunted / ex Seance), Rickard Rimfält (Guit., Seance), Angus Norder (Vox, Nekrokraft), Victor Brandt (Bass, Dimmu Borgir / ex Entombed A.D.) – who now officially replaces longtime bassist Sharlee D’Angelo – and Chris Barkensjö (Drums, LIK / ex Kaamos). The album was once more mixed and produced with Daniel Bergstrand (Behemoth, In Flames, etc.), comes with artwork by Andreas “Diaz” Pettersson.
A first single and video for the razor-sharp track “Popecrusher” is being released today and can also be viewed in an animated video clip created by Eduardo Hidalgo & Maciej Pieloch / MPieloch.com & E2h Design Studio here:
WITCHERY mastermind Jensen commented about “Popecrusher” as follows: “Setting the benchmark for the new album, “Popecrusher” is the first foreshadowing aural assault from our new album “Nightside”. All the pieces fell into place with this album and we can’t wait for everyone to hear the album in its entirety. “Nightside” is our first attempt at writing a concept album, and “Popecrusher” is of course a part of that story. We hope you love the soul-incinerating heaviness of “Popecrusher” as much as we do. More great things are soon to come. Do the W!”
As previously mentioned, “Nightside” features brief guest appearances on vocals by Jeff Walker (Carcass, on “A Forest of Burning Coffins” as well as guest guitar leads by Hank Shermann (Mercyful Fate, on “Left Hand March”), Simon Johansson (Wolf, on “Crucifix and Candle”) and Maciek Ofstad (Kvelertak, on “Don’t Burn the Witch”).
“Nightside” will be released in the following formats: Jewelcase CD, 180g. vinyl LP (either as black vinyl or as limited transparent red vinyl of 500x copies via CM Distro/Mailorder) and as Digital Album.
Look out…WITCHERY’s “Nightside” is heavy metal witchcraft at its best. The witching hour has arrived!
