In support of its 10th anniversary, German power metal force IRON SAVIOR released a special edition of their 2011-classic albumThe Landingon November 19, 2021. Finally, the record is now also available on Vinyl through AFM Records!
The Landing became one of the most successful albums of the Hamburg-based band and was heralding a kind of resurgence for IRON SAVIOR back then. It contains several classic tracks such as “Starlight”, “Hall Of The Heroes” and – of course – the metal hymn par excellence, “Heavy Metal Never Dies” – a song which was streamed way more than 10.000.000 times until this day.
“We are absolutely thrilled about this very special release.“ Guitarist and vocalist Piet Sielck comments. “It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years already since “The Landing” came out, a true milestone in the history of Iron Savior. This tenth anniversary special edition with its subtile enhancements brings the timeless classics like “The Savior”, “Starlight” or the anthem “Heavy Metal Never Dies” with even more power and sparkle to your ears. Also check out the small changes and improvements of the reworked cover art. And now finally all this is available ON VINAL as well with “only” 5 months of delay.”
Released last year on November 19th, The Landing 10th Anniversary Edition is now also available on Vinyl. Purchase your copy at THIS LOCATION
The anniversary album not only includes 3 bonus tracks, but was also remixed and remastered by Piet himself and comes with a revised artwork by Felipe Machado Franco.

April 22, 2022 will see Bergen-based heavy rock outfit, AUDREY HORNE, release their much awaited new album, entitled Devil’s Bell. Four years after their critically acclaimed Blackout record, the band’s seventh studio album will drop on April 22, 2022 via Napalm Records!
As with every AUDREY HORNE album, there are no duds or misfires as the songs flow together seamlessly, making Devil’s Bell a delight to play from the first note straight to the end. Devil’s Bell offers nine fist-pumping songs that will shake concert venues worldwide. Frontman Toschie once again proves that he has one of the most charismatic and energetic voices in rock, and the kinetic guitar-work of Ice Dale (Enslaved) and Thomas Tofthagen (ex-Sahg) underlines an outstanding genre-warp of 70s and 80s rock via NWOBHM, keeping the music rocking and the listener locked in. The band is tight, the music is festive, and the songs stick upon first listen – that’s how a modern hard rock album should sound!
After the band just recently premiered the album title track, today we’ll get to hear a new song taken of the Devil’s Bell! “Danse Macabre” proves to be real rock anthem with big arena choruses, showcasing the Norwegian band in the top shape they are known and loved for.
Frontman Toschie says about the new song: “May we have the next dance? We are happy to present the second single “Danse Macabre”, from our upcoming album and we hope you will enjoy it while you wait for the bell to ring.”
What started back in 2002 soon took the Norwegians and their expertly executed, riff-soaked fury all the way to the top of the rock scene. Toschie adds:
“20 years into our career, we are proud to say we have made probably our strongest album so far.It was made during a time of lockdown and isolation, so it became a very focused album, and an album on our own terms, even more than previously. It is 100% homegrown as we recorded it ourselves, Arve produced it and our long time ‘secret’ member Herbrand Larsen mixed it.”
We are really happy with the way the whole album turned out and we feel that we kept the essence of the AUDREY HORNE but with a few new flavors added. Hope you’ll have as much fun listening to it as we had making it!”
Left-field metal luminaries ENSLAVED are proud to reveal their single and video for ‘Bounded by Allegiance – Live‘. The track, which originally comes from their ground-breaking album Isa (2004), sees a live recording of a new avant-garde interpretation, with nuanced accompaniment by fellow psychedelic Norwegian prog band Shaman Elephant. This extraordinary performance took place on last year’s Winter Solstice, via the stunning streaming event ‘The Otherworldly Big Band Experience‘.
Frontman Grutle Kjellson stated, “So here’s a little memory from last year’s musical endeavor. Our ‘Big Band’ collaboration with Shaman Elephant was such a trip! It felt like, and indeed it was, an avalanche of locked up energy just bursting out. The streamed concert plus a small tour in Norway was pretty much the only shows we did in 2021, so the energy level was pretty much turned to 11, on all of us. All nine of us!
‘Bounded By Allegiance’ was one of the first songs we thought would fit being dressed for a nine man outfit, with its natural percussive nature. We hope we were right, enjoy!”
‘The Otherworldly Big Band Experience‘ was an Enslaved show like none other, their biggest, boldest project to date – a colossal, kaleidoscopic stage show featuring a stellar setlist covering their career, both past and present. Including some tracks never previously performed live.
Enslaved‘snew EP Caravans To The Outer Worlds was released unto the universe last month. It is a tale of departure, about leaving behind a barren and desolate world, travelling boldly into the future. It signaled the end of an era for the psychedelic Norwegians, hinting at new pastures.
