Time To Kill Records have announced the re-release of MAYHEM’s modern masterpiece “Esoteric Warfare”, out since March 1st 2022 in MC format under exclusive license from Season Of Mist.
Originally released in 2014, with “Esoteric Warfare”, the band’s first album with Teloch on guitar since Blasphemer‘s departure from the band in 2008, the long running Norwegian black metallers have created an intense journey in which angular riffs are being alternated with subtle melodies until they intertwine into an enormous soundscape.
These new tape editions are currently available via the below links:
BRAINDAMAGE have the bad habit of publishing music with a dropper but, sooner or later, they arrive, like the Tatars of the Bastiani fortress. The next opus, “Tyranny And Revolution”, will be released next January-February again for My Kingdom Music and in these days they started the recordings.
Andrea Signorelli opens us a window on what is their seventh full-length album: “It is ultra heavy, a bit more direct, is catchy and memorable, and yet retains the quirkiness and complexity that has become a trademark. We are energised and inspired, and undeniably BRAINDAMAGE. We could be nobody else!”
Atlanta, Georgia based progressive black metal band TÓMARÚM are today premiering their new single, Where No Warmth Is Found, and its accompanying visualizer via Metal Injection. Where No Warmth Is Found is the second single to be taken from the duo’s upcoming debut album, Ash in Realms of Stone Icons, due out via Prosthetic on May 6.
Where No Warmth Is Found will be available on all streaming platforms on March 4.
Speaking on the track premiere, Kyle Walburn (guitars, vocals, programming) comments:
“Where No Warmth is Found was the third song written for the record, and was intended to serve as a true midpoint. I wanted to follow up the intensity of our first single, In This Empty Space, with something a bit calmer, but also wanted an epic, climactic midpoint for the record. I utilized a slower, melancholy chord progression and acoustic guitars in the first half and then picked up the pace with some shred solos, a clean vocal chorus, and a heavily orchestrated, triumphant ending. No Warmth… was the first song where I really started incorporating more progressive/technical influences into our black metal, something that has become our staple as we’ve grown.
“Thematically, the song deals with the same overarching concepts of the rest of the record, but from the lens of betrayal. I’ve had a few situations over the years, some traumatic and others not so much, where people I cared about very deeply broke the trust I had put in them and began to treat me poorly. My mental health took a nosedive as a result, and this song serves as a catharsis for the pain and frustration I felt during those times.”
Formed in 2017, TÓMARÚM – which translates from Icelandic to “empty space” – cover topics such as depression, anxiety, loss, and worthlessness over songs inspired equally by atmospheric black metal and technical death metal. The band’s 2020 debut EP, Wounds Ever Expanding, quickly generated an online buzz and garnered praise for its effective fusion of atmospheric black metal and technical death metal – after which Kyle Walburn and Brandon Iacovella (guitars, vocals, contrabass) set to work on Ash in Realms of Stone Icons.
The seven tracks on Ash in Realms of Stone Icons feature session bass from Arran McSporran of VIRVUM, session drums from Spencer Moore of INFERI, and a beautiful cover painted by Mariusz Lewandowski, and display TÓMARÚM at their sharpest and most vulnerable to date with Ash in Realms of Stone Icons being the ultimate declaration of intent from a band with their sights set on breaking barriers.
Ash in Realms of Stone Icons tracklist: 1. Introspection I 2. Condemned to a Life of Grief 3. In This Empty Space 4. Introspection II 5. Where No Warmth Is Found 6. As Black Forms From Grey 7. Awake Into Eternal Slumber
Swedish KNOGJÄRN (Eng.: Knuckle-duster) are that kick-ass kind of Hard Rock, right off the bat! Knogjärn drop music that makes you want to crack open a beer, turn the volume to 11 and rock ‘til you f***ing drop. Today, Knogjärn release their second single titled “Du Väljer Själv Vad Du Dricker” from their upcoming EP!
The track is filled to the brim with aggressive energy demanding the listener to take charge of their own lives, and at the same time make them rock harder than ever before!
With melodic guitars and backing vocals countering the brutal and powerful riffs and drums, Knogjärn manages to captivate and grab hold of their audience in a way that forces you to listen!
Knogjärn’s take on melodic hard rock combined with heavier elements from hardcore and metal makes them the perfect music to shake of yesterday and move into the future with.
Since the start in 2015, Knogjärn has delivered nothing but sonic raging anger with an unapologetic, IN-YOUR-FACE attitude. The foursome drops super-charged records, but they hit even harder when on stage: “We want you to like our live performance even if you don´t like our music”, the band states. Their records are the testimony that Knogjärn always give 100%! Hard’n’heavy riffs with raging vocals and explicit lyrics speak beyond their vernacular, beloved by their ever-growing crowd of fans, who has already started to cover themselves in Knogjärn-tattoos.
Knogjärn signed with Indie Recordings late 2020, released the EP “Kvarlevor” and re-released their latest album “Stora och Farliga” shortly after.
Finnish progressive rock/metal band VARJO-ORKESTERI released a second single and music video Luoto. The track is taken from their upcoming debut album Prima Volta which is released on April 1st 2022 by Inverse Records.
The Band comments: “Where to find a better place to wrestle with dark thoughts and mistakes of the past than rocky shores in the face of stormy waves? Luoto, second single from upcoming Prima vista debut album, Varjo-Orkesteri takes the listener in front of a stormy sea to measure who falls: Man or past?”

Varjo-orkesteri is a Finnish-language group flavoured by rock, metal and proge. The band is the “ready-to-go” missile of the hot Karhula scene, which is always ready to kick the nation with freshest and thickest beats. The band sort of formed by accident when the Fog Light boys (Jarmo Pikka, Pasi Hakuli, Saku Hakuli) were planning to put together a new album based on almost complete instrumental demos. Coincidentally, possible vocal contributions (Markku Pihlaja) was discussed. At first as usual, lyrics were to be written in English. But led by something unconscious, the text began to emerge in finnish. This intuition was definitely worth following.
The album’s demos were therefore largely ready when singing melodies and text began to be written in the demos. At the same time, when the songs were demoed, tracks were already recorded for the album. Recording sessions were built according to the spirit of the times “remotely” so that each party recorded their share in their own studios. By late autumn 2021, the recordings were ready. Mixing and mastering were agreed with their final form at the beginning of December. The end result surprised the whole band, the album (Prima Volta) became a really fresh-sounding revelation, not least for the native languge in the text.
The members of the varjo-orkesteri are quite familiar at least to the music people of the home area (South Kymenlaakso). The members have a background from bands such asOmnium Gatherum, Total Devastation, Manitou, Kaihoro, Return To Void, Demonic Death Judge etc.

HELL MILITIA comment: “This was the first song written in the process and it’s true-to-form, punch-in-the-face energy made this the opening track of ‘Hollow Void’ by default. This song sets the tone for the rest of the album, and lyrically it is a manic outburst of contempt for life.”
The band’s new full-length will be released via Season of Mist Underground Activists on March 18. Pre-orders are available HERE. Pre-save the album HERE.
The cover artwork was created by Manuel Tinnemans // Comaworx.
