Veteran New Haven, Connecticut metal band Dead By Wednesday, featuring current and former members of Ellefson, Cro-Mags, and Tantric has officially signed with the newly revived iconic heavy metal label Combat Records and is set to unleash their devastating new single “Flesh” worldwide on all major streaming and digital platforms on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Today, the band has unveiled the music video for the single (see below).
After building major momentum during recent live performances, “Flesh” quickly became a fan favorite leading the band to prioritize the song as the first release from their upcoming new EP, due out in early 2027 via Combat Records / Mindsnap Music. The single will also appear on the official Milwaukee Metal Fest promotional compilation album.
In addition to the release, Dead By Wednesday has been announced as part of Milwaukee Metal Fest 2026, curated by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. The band will perform Sunday, June 7 at 4:45 PM on the BLK II BLK / Copycats Media Stage at The Rave Bar alongside an explosive lineup of heavy acts.
Guitarist Dave Sharpe shares, “This is probably one of our toughest songs to date but still captures the true essence of the old school DBW sound & heavy grooves that are known to be the foundation of the band.”
Robert Dujmusic (CEO Combat Records) adds,“Known for their relentless energy, crushing sound, and dedication to the Metal Scene, DEAD BY WEDNESDAY has built a powerful reputation worldwide trough YEARS of touring and amazing releases. We at Combat Records are totally excited to begin this new partnership and help bring the bands next chapter to an even bigger audience.”
“Flesh” was engineered and recorded by Jeff Weed, then mixed and mastered in Los Angeles by Ricky Bonazza bassist of Fear Factory and Butcher Babies.
“Huge love to my brothers in Dead By Wednesday — one of the hardest working bands out there, always grinding, always pushing, and doing it for the right reasons. It was an absolute pleasure mixing this new release, and I’ve got nothing but respect for these guys. A band I’ll always hold close to my heart, and I’m beyond stoked for everyone to finally hear this one,” says Ricky Bonazza.
The accompanying music video was filmed in New York City and directed by Grammy-nominated filmmaker Tom Flynn, known for his work with numerous legendary metal artists.
July 3 sees the release of one of the most anticipated live albums of the metal year, a full all-format release for Live From The Guild Theatre, recorded almost exactly one year earlier at the onstage launch of L.A. Guns’ most acclaimed album in years, the mighty Leopard Skin.
rockpit.net described Leopard Skin as “a hook-filled, melody-drenched delight—perfectly mixed and balanced from start to finish. If you’re a diehard rocker who still worships the ’80s glory days, this one’s for you. But don’t get it twisted: this isn’t some nostalgic retread. L.A. Guns aren’t stuck in the past—they’ve evolved naturally, delivering a record that feels fresh while staying true to their roots.”
Metal Planet Music said the Guns are “still churning out bangers”; and maximumvolumemusic applauded them for still having “a way of sounding filthy.” In fact, that review continued, “The best thing about L.A. Guns is how unapologetic they are, and ‘Hit and Run’ nails it. ‘We’re just having fun,’ sneers [vocalist Phil Lewis], as only he can.”
It nails it here, too, sliding in between “Hellraisers Ball” and “Like A Drug,” but Live From The Guild Theatre is explosive from start to finish, the Gunners firing off killer versions of fan favorites tracing as far back as the band’s debut album – “Sex Action,” for example, probably hasn’t featured in the repertoire since the eighties, but it’s alive and kickin’ here.
Sophomore set Cocked and Loaded, meanwhile, spits out some of the most powerful shotgun blasts in the band’s entire arsenal – “I Wanna Be Your Man,” The Ballad of Jayne,” “Rip and Tear” and the set-ender, “Never Enough.” And Leopard Skin gets both a triumphant airing and a delirious response.
In fact, longtime vocalist Phil Lewis and the man who put the Guns in both L.A. Guns and Guns N’ Roses, Tracii Guns, have never sounded better – quite an achievement for a band that’s been tearing up the stages of the world since 1983! Ace Von Johnson (guitar), Johnny Martin (bass) and Shawn Duncan (drums) complete the line-up.
The first single from the album, “Electric Gypsy,” is another from the self-titled debut, and it sounds as fresh now as it did way back then… drop it into your streaming playlist and it won’t simply wake up the neighbors, it’ll have them hammering on your door, demanding to know what you’re listening to.
Yes, you’ll tell them it’s L.A. Guns – who else could it be? But you can also tell them that it’s not only coming out on CD and vinyl, but there’s a DVD and a cassette as well.

TodoMal are releasing the title track as the third and final advanced single from their upcoming third album Graveyards of Joy. The song finds the atmospheric doom metal duo at their most elegiac amidst a heavy meditation on depopulation, decay and the gradual reclamation of abandoned places.
Watch the music video for “Graveyards of Joy” on the Season of Mist YouTube channel:
“Graveyards of Joy” draws from the ghost towns and emptied provinces of TodoMal’s native Spain, conjuring a landscape where “no gods’ll ever settle here, ‘cos all they ever do is walk by.” As the song unfolds, the desolation gives way: new people arrive, signs of life begin to re-emerge and something resembling hope takes shape during a finale that’s as sweeping as the landscape it describes.
Graveyards of Joy is the closing chapter of a trilogy that began with Ultracrepidarian (2021) and continued with A Greater Good (2023). Written in solitude following personal tragedy, the album draws on the landscapes and ghost towns of rural eastern Spain, a terrain the band describe as raw, honest and untamed. It channels grief, anger and hard-won hope through a sound rooted in the slow-burning weight of classic doom and dramatic rock. Vast Hammond organ-driven passages give way to desolate folk; strings with Morriconian openness sit alongside heavy, anchoring riffs. TodoMal draw on a wide range of reference points, from the orchestral sweep of Vangelis and the warmth of Deep Purple to the dramatic sensibility of Tindersticks and Nick Cave, without losing the solemnity that defines TodoMal.

TodoMal was formed in 2020 by Christopher B. Wildman and Javier Fernández Milla, two veteran multi-instrumentalists of the Spanish underground scene. A Greater Good appeared on multiple year-end lists, including Mondosonoro’s Top 10 albums of 2023, and sold through its initial pressing. The band has since expanded into a five-piece live ensemble and performed at festivals including Be Prog! My Friend, Under The Doom Fest and Frantic Fest, sharing stages with Candlemass, My Dying Bride and Dødheimsgard. Extensive European touring is confirmed for 2026, including a co-headlining run with Evoken across ten dates in July and August.

TodoMal came to life in 2020, conceived by Anglo-Spanish musician and composer Christopher B. Wildman and musician, composer and producer Javier Fernández Milla: two veteran multi-instrumentalists of the Spanish underground scene whose careers span a wide range of projects and styles. A product of pure serendipity, TodoMal represents a deeply personal fusion of the solemnity of traditional doom metal and the expansiveness of space rock, interwoven with nuances of ecclesiastical music, classic hard rock and cinematic soundscapes.
Their debut album, Ultracrepidarian (2021), evokes the placid yet desolate moorlands of their base in northern Alcarria and the region of Matarraña (Teruel), two emblematic landscapes of Spain’s so-called “emptied lands.” With A Greater Good (2023), the duo crafted a collection of what they describe as “dark songs,” evolving into a complex, dense and unclassifiable album that appeared on several year-end lists and sold through its initial pressing. Fuelled by this momentum, they expanded into a five-piece live ensemble, joining forces with Javier Félez (guitar; Teitanblood, Graveyard, Balmog), Javier “Bud” Martínez (drums; Dejadeath, Jade, Ktulu) and Cecilia Tallo (keyboards/vocals; Maud the Moth).
Graveyards of Joy is the third album and the closing chapter of a trilogy. Written in solitude following personal tragedy, it channels grief, anger and hard-won hope into nine tracks of slow-burning, widescreen doom. The music breathes: vast Hammond-driven passages give way to desolate folk, Morricone-like strings open onto dusty cinematic plains, and heavy riffs anchor songs that never lose sight of melody. A DIY record of striking emotional depth and modern, alternative edge.

Today, the second single, ‘Feu d’un regard’, by the innovative black metal band Mourir is released. It serves as a harbinger of their forthcoming sophomore album, Nous, le venin, set for release on 10th July via Pelagic Records.
Their forward-thinking take on black metal and uncompromising approach to their work marks them out as ones to watch when they present this new material live at festivals across Europe including Hellfest, Rock In Bourlon and Resurrection Festival in the months to come.
To mark the single release the band is unveiling a live video filmed during the recording sessions for the album Nous, le venin last January. It’s a way for the band to document the album’s recording and showcase the first two singles, ‘Nous, le venin’ and ‘Feu d’un regard’ live.
The video stays true to the rest of the album, which was recorded live at The Apiary in Laval by Amaury Sauvé, mixed by Clément Libes at La Tanière in Copenhagen, and mastered in Paris by Adrien Pallot at Chab Mastering. Filmed and edited by Clara Griot and Emma Mari, this behind-the-scenes look at the recording of Mourir’s second full-length album gives a glimpse of what awaits fans who cross paths with the Toulouse-based band this summer.
Mourir about ‘Feu d’un regard’: “’Feu d’un regard’ evokes the awakening after depression — that moment when light returns through a connection that restores meaning and momentum to life. It marks the end of a long wandering, the emergence from a bleak state where everything felt extinguished. The track captures the inner rebirth, the fragile thrill of returning to the light. It is a piece that is both melodic, intense, and contemplative, culminating in a powerful revelation: the feeling of having been freed from depression.”
With a demo, an album and an experimental EP to their name, the four-piece retreated to the studio at the end of 2025 to write the music for Nous, le venin. Recorded in January 2026 with Amaury Sauvé (Birds in row, Igorrr, Pneu) at The Apiary Studio in Laval, France, the six tracksare the very embodiment of Mourir’s approach to black metal. Although they draw inspiration from many artists in the old-school black metal world, they opted to lean into a more modern sound – one that would allow the depth of their sonic choices to shine. Blending elements of sludge and post-metal to the rawness of their black metal sound, and combining this with a mixthat gives space to both the low frequencies and the high-octane viscerality, Mourir have created something both distinctive and captivating.
Thematically, the band turn their detached gaze towards an ever-more untethered modern society, one that is inhospitable to those seeking meaning in the cruelty and absurdity of aseemingly senseless world. Yet within these tracks exists slivers of light, of hope and ofluminosity – a belief that something better is possible is woven throughout the melodic passagesand most celestial, ecstatic elements of their sound. The evocative cover art by Thomas Davezac captures the feeling of disconnection that permeates the album.
Mourir have recorded an album that cements their place among underground greats who deftlyeschew the nostalgic trappings of black metal convention and breathe new life into the genre. Nous, le venin is imbued with raw emotion that is perfectly complemented by stylistic choices that echo the sentiment of being freed from the chains of the past.

Rising German melancholic heavy metal outfit THE NIGHT ETERNAL will release their Metal Blade debut, Cold Velvet, on August 21st.
Since their foundation in 2018, the quintet has built themselves a serious reputation with their ’70s and ’80s guitar-driven sounds in their very own sinister guise. The band’s previous two full-length, Moonlit Cross (2021) and Fatale (2023), gained applause by fans and critics alike which resulted in successful support tours (Blind Guardian, Michael Schenker Group, Angel Witch, Lucifer) and festival gigs (Wacken, Summer Breeze, Hellfest, Alcatraz) throughout Europe as well as a spot on the infamous Hell’s Heroes fest in Houston, Texas.
With Cold Velvet, the band has ultimately carved out its own subgenre, weaving darkness, dreamlike unease and deep melancholy into a dramatic yet untainted heavy metal rock ‘n’ roll attitude. Recurring trademarks such as hypnotic, ritualistic rhythms, mesmeric guitar riffs and melodies, and irresistibly catchy choruses permeate every track drawing the listener into a trance-like state and unleashing a relentless surge of dark energy and dopamine.
“With this album we set out to open a new musical chapter in the story of THE NIGHT ETERNAL,” the band remarks. “Each song stands strong on its own, yet together they form a cohesive narrative – unfolding through rising tension, shifting atmospheres, and unexpected twists and turns that guide the listener from beginning to end.”
Conceptually, the album was conceived as a bridge from Fatale: allowing the band and its music to develop naturally, explore new atmospheres, grow in maturity, and ultimately manifest a sound that is unmistakably their own. What emerges is not simply an evolution, but a clear statement of identity – this is, without question, THE NIGHT ETERNAL!
In advance of the record’s release, today the band presents the lead single, “Where This World Ends.”
The band comments, “This track gets straight to the core of what THE NIGHT ETERNAL stands for. Dramatic, dark riffing is paired with haunting vocal melodies that linger long after the final note. While the track forms a seamless bridge between the band’s previous work and the present, it also introduces new sonic elements, including subtle synth-guitar textures inspired by Iron Maiden’s Somewhere in Time, woven discreetly into the background.”
Cold Velvet was recorded between May and December 2025 at Church Of Sound Studios in the greater area of Munich, Germany. Production, recording, and mixing duties were handled by Michael Zech – guitarist of black metallers Secrets Of The Moon and a highly respected producer known for his work with Sulphur Aeon, Triptykon, and The Ruins Of Beverast, among others.

Reunion Island thrash metal trio LOMOR is heading to Europe, launching a run of France and Belgium tour dates in support of their new album “Sabouk Rouge,” with the trek kicking off at Hellfest. This band will be bringing their raw, Creole‑infused thrash to some of the region’s most respected stages (updated tour dates are listed below). The tour supports their latest album, “Sabouk Rouge,” released this past February 2026 via Rockshots Records. Produced by the band, recorded and mixed by Sébastien Camhi at Art Music Studio in France, and mastered by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio in Germany, “Sabouk Rouge” expands LOMOR’s sonic palette while staying true to their primal thrash roots. With more Creole lyrics woven in at fans’ request, the album strengthens its cultural identity as it shifts through a wide range of moods.
“The tracks are all different, each bringing its own atmosphere. It’s still trash, but with a variety of flavors,” says Eric. That diversity fuels a record that moves from the title track’s sharp satire of Réunion’s legacy of slavery to the grotesque obsession of “Meet Your Meat,” the ritualistic mysticism of “Sanctuary,” and the blistering critique of religion in “La Haine.” The tone lightens with the street‑racing humor of “La Pouss’,” then darkens again with “Panzram,” exploring the roots of a killer’s hatred. The album revisits Eric’s past with a reimagined “Kit Ta Mère” before closing on “Nevroz,” a reversed, tongue‑in‑cheek remake born from a studio joke.
LOMOR has carved its identity as one of the most distinctive metal acts emerging from the Indian Ocean. Their sound, described by guitarist/vocalist Eric Castelnau (Babouk) as “creole thrash old‑school stuff”, fuses classic 80s thrash aggression with the cultural grit and linguistic identity of Réunion Island.
LOMOR began as a deeply personal project for Eric, who formed the band in 2018 after the passing of his cousin and brother, both former bandmates in his earlier project, Black Babouk. The name Lomor, meaning “The Deads” in Réunion Creole, stands as a tribute to the people and memories that shaped his musical path. Joined by drummer Gurvan Cambrai (Typhvs) (also of grind outfit Brvtal trve d’baal) and bassist Micha (member of a local Rage Against the Machine tribute band), the trio has forged a sound rooted in old‑school thrash but sharpened by modern production and raw island energy.
