Canadian metal maverick Devin Townsend recently announced the long-awaited release of his ambitious, orchestral-metal opus ‘The Moth’, out 29th May 2026 via InsideOutMusic.
Now, he has revealed another part of The Moth narrative in the shape of the visceral and heavy double-single ‘Prepare For War / The Big Snit’. Watch the video, directed by Studio Sparks, below.
UK progressive, alternative metal band HAKEN return with their first new music in 3 years, in the shape of ‘in a fever dream’. This new track sees the band working with a producer for the very first time, bringing George Lever (Loathe, Sleep Token ) on board to help shape the next stage of the band, crafting some of the most emotionally direct material of the bands career so far. For this track, the band enlisted renowned bassist Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Dethklok, Joe Satriani) to contribute.
YES, who is Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Billy Sherwood & Jay Schellen, are proud to announce their 24 th studio album ‘Aurora’ will be released on the 12th June 2026 via InsideOutMusic/Sony Music.
Now the band are extremely pleased to launch the new single ‘Turnaround Situation’, accompanied by a visualizer created by Matt Hutchings (who also made the video for ‘Aurora’). Watch it now here:
Southern California rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck return with Wreckage, Vol. 3, a new album collecting a range of recent standalone singles released throughout the band’s relentless run of touring and recording over the past year. Arriving alongside the launch of the focus track “Arroyo,” the release captures another side of the band’s evolving sound – looser, heavier, and deeply rooted in the spontaneous chemistry that has long defined their live shows.
Built from a free-form rehearsal jam that quickly took on a life of its own, “Arroyo” began with a single phrase that sparked the song’s now-driving chorus. The track unfolds as a fast-moving Southern rock burner, full of harmonized guitar lines, swirling Hammond B3 organ, and extended improvised solos that lean fully into the band’s classic rock influences without feeling nostalgic or overly polished.
Lyrically, the song was inspired by what guitarist Henry James describes as “an image in Robert’s head of a lone traveler, out on a dry creek bed in which everyone and everything was out to get him.” Drawing from the atmosphere of Spaghetti Westerns and old Clint Eastwood films, “Arroyo” follows a shadowy figure moving through “a brief moment full of darkness, danger and deception on a dry creek bed in the old Wild West.”
Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles – specifically Studio 2, often referred to as “the Van Halen room” – the track was self-produced by the band and engineered and mixed by Chad Gordon, who previously worked with Henry James on his very first recordings years ago. “We let it be what it is,” James explains. “A semi-improvised ‘70s southern rock jam.” Much of the final version came together in the first or second take, including fully improvised solos from keyboardist Jake Abernathie on Hammond B3 and James on his Epiphone Firebird guitar.
Wreckage, Vol. 3, a collection of rarities, fan favorites, and standout tracks showcasing the band’s signature Southern rock sound arrives during one of the busiest creative stretches of the band’s career and continues the momentum generated by recent new single releases including “Run Back To Me” and “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.” Together, the tracks showcase the band’s ability to move fluidly between emotionally grounded songwriting, heavy riff-driven rock, and expansive jam-based musicianship while continuing to push beyond the framework of traditional Southern rock.
The collection also follows the release of the band’s acclaimed studio album Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, produced by Grammy-winner Dave Cobb and released via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records. The record earned widespread praise for its blend of raw storytelling, muscular grooves, and lived-in performances, with Classic Rock Magazine calling it “their most accomplished work to date.”
Since forming in 2011, Robert Jon & The Wreck – Robert Jon Burrison (vocals, guitar), Henry James (lead guitar, vocals), Andrew Espantman (drums, vocals), Warren Murrel (bass), and Jake Abernathie (keys) – have built a devoted international following through relentless touring and a live show that thrives on spontaneity, interplay, and hard-earned chemistry. Recent years have seen the band tour extensively across the U.S. and Europe, share stages with artists including Samantha Fish, Blackberry Smoke, Joe Bonamassa, and Rival Sons, and steadily establish themselves as one of modern rock’s most dependable live acts.
The band’s touring schedule continues this summer with dates across the U.K., Europe, and the United States, including appearances at Holland International Blues Festival and a run of East Coast headline dates before returning later this year for the Cali-County Cruise 2026. UK grunge rock outfit Maximum Robot have released the lyric video for “Eternia”, the latest single from their album “Away With The Fairies”, out now via Epictronic.
Built on gritty riffs and a strong melodic pull, “Eternia” hits with both energy and intent. The song looks at the chaos of human behaviour, pollution, environmental collapse, and war, and pushes back against it, imagining a different reality far from it all.
The title draws from Eternia, the iconic world from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Here, it becomes more than a reference; it’s a contrast, a symbol of escape from a planet that feels increasingly out of control.
“Eternia” gives a clear taste of what “Away With The Fairies” sounds like: direct songwriting, sharp themes, and no wasted space.
Maximum Robot is a grunge band from Andover, England, was founded by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Gazza Williams. After decades of effort, drummer Vyara Petkova joined in 2019, followed by bassist Dave Hull, forming the original lineup—but they never performed live together. Pandemic disruptions and lineup changes followed, with Williams and Hull finally playing their first gigs in Autumn 2024. In 2025, work began on their fourth album, and Jack Chapman replaced Hull on bass, bringing a heavier, rawer sound. The current duo, Chapman and Williams, upholds the band’s motto: “Music Never Dies.”
International symphonic metal legends KAMELOT—renowned for their infectious melodies, cinematic storytelling, and electrifying live performances—return with their haunting new album Dark Asylum, arriving August 28, 2026 via Napalm Records. Now 14 albums deep into a genre-defining career—including Haven (#1 Billboard Hard Rock), The Shadow Theory (#2 Billboard Hard Rock, #1 Amazon Hard Rock & Metal), and most recently The Awakening (#2 Billboard Hard Rock and Top 10 on the German charts)—the band continues to stand as a commanding force in modern metal after more than three decades.
Set within a shadowed Neo Victorian-era world, Dark Asylum invites listeners beyond the gates of RavenHill Asylum—an imposing institution once built as a grand cathedral, now repurposed into a place where science, faith, and madness uneasily coexist.
KAMELOT founder and guitarist Thomas Youngblood about the record: “Dark Asylum follows a soul trapped inside a world of masks, fractured memories, and psychological torment, wandering the endless halls of RavenHill in search of truth, identity, and redemption. What begins as a descent into darkness gradually transforms into a journey of awakening, where beneath the fear, illusion, and chaos lies the possibility of healing, hope, and ultimately a path out of the shadows into Sanctuary. The album explores the duality between despair and salvation, blurring the lines between reality and madness through theatrical storytelling, haunting atmospheres, and deeply emotional themes.”
Frontman Tommy Karevik adds: “Dark Asylum invites listeners into the hidden chambers of the human mind. A journey where every door reveals a different story, yet all remain deeply connected. At its core, the album explores the duality of human nature: the constant tension between fear and hope, chaos and stillness, destruction and healing. Dark Asylum reflects the struggle to remain sane within a cold and barren world, while ultimately discovering that salvation is not something found externally, but something that already exists within us all. Through self-exploration, awareness, and inner peace, healing becomes possible. This concept opened the door to a more cinematic and haunting sonic landscape, allowing us to experiment with darker, more eerie musical themes.”
Longtime KAMELOT producer Sascha Paeth returns to helm the album, alongside Jacob Hansen, who oversees mixing and mastering.
Karevik concludes: “The imagery was intentionally painted with delicate strokes, capturing the fine line between beauty and disorder, and the way chaos and tranquility coexist within the same space. The result is an immersive experience that feels both unsettling and deeply human. A descent into darkness that ultimately searches for light.”
Deepening the immersion of RavenHill, Dark Asylum will be released on a plethora of exciting platforms including standard gold, solid silver, and classic black vinyl editions, certified vinyl with the white label, white splatter, and blood filled variants, the latter of which are each paired with an official 24 page booklet! Multiple CD digipak available, with the 2 disc version including an instrumental version of the album, alongside cassette and digital options!
KAMELOT pushes further into cinematic and atmospheric territory on Dark Asylum, diving deeper into theatrical darkness while preserving the signature hooks that define their sound. Candlelight trembles along towering arches and cold stone corridors as you are greeted familiar spectres: Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie’s Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis’s Clémentine Delauney, Decessus frontwoman and current reigning Miss World Chile champion Ignacia Fernández, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir and Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King! Identity fractures, reality bends, and control slips into unseen hands, guiding its central figure through a descent into psychological darkness that ultimately leads toward transformation… and perhaps sanctuary. From the cinematic sweep of “Ashen World” to the introspective depth of “Sanctuary”, and the layered mystique of “Ivy, My Dear”, Dark Asylum unfolds as a fully immersive journey, blending orchestral grandeur, haunting melodies, and theatrical storytelling into one cohesive vision. Will you find sanctuary? Or will you wander its halls for eternity?
