The official video clip for ANGUISH FORCE’s “I know” from their latest album “Ten reasons to die” will be released soon via Wanikyia Record.
The song, for the first time for a Heavy Metal band, was specially shot in 9:16 and is a first for this genre. The band rented a theater to make it, but there is no shortage of filming on exteriors. The lyrics are meant to make the point that even if we do not replicate every news that is published in the media, it does not mean that we are not aware of an objectively intuitable reality.
The video clip will soon be followed by another video, this time in traditional 16:9 format. It is about the second single from the latest album, namely “Brother kills his brother.” The video, which is absolutely topical, is about the current war going on in the former Soviet Union and the contradiction it represents. Here we are not talking about politics but about the complete lack of common sense.
Rising heavy blues powerhouse Dead Groove, born from the creative crucible of 2020’s lockdown, release the EP Rubicon this week. Pressed on crystal clear 10″ vinyl, the release features a distinctive cover of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades.”
Also included are two coruscating band originals, “Fire” and “The Damned,” the latter spotlighted by Dead Groove’s latest video, an auto-destruction rampage capturing the three piece in action. Watch out, too, for a special appearance by Moris Tepper’s “The Bummer Man” painting.
Filmed by Vinny Marvaso and produced/edited by band members Fred Aching and Holly West, the video premiered this week.
Dead Groove began as a pandemic collaboration between drummer Aching and bassist/vocalist West, and swiftly evolved into one of the scene’s most promising acts. The band, completed by guitarist Cesar “Cags” Salaverry, brings together decades of professional experience, including West’s current role with Zepparella, Salaverry with the Peruvian band Mauser, and Aching’s performances with Kings of Thrash alongside David Ellefson, Powerflo and BulletBoys.
The successor to the band’s acclaimed self-titled debut album, Rubicon represents a significant evolution in Dead Groove’s musical journey. The title, referencing the historic point of no return, perfectly captures the band’s commitment to pushing their sonic boundaries – they describe it as presenting “a more polished iteration of Dead Groove’s signature sound while maintaining the raw energy fans have come to expect.”
Their interpretation of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” demonstrates Dead Groove’s artistic vision. By deliberately slowing the tempo and incorporating their characteristic groove, the band has created a fresh interpretation that both honors the original and establishes their unique musical identity.
The EP’s creative process highlights the band’s collaborative strength, with Aching and Salaverry crafting the instrumental framework while West contributes her distinctive vocals and lyrical artistry. Drawing from influences including Black Sabbath’s heavy blues foundation, Deep Purple’s progressive complexity, and the melodic innovation of King’s X, Dead Groove continues to forge their own path in modern heavy music.
To celebrate the release, Dead Groove are performing at the legendary Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood on March 23rd, opening for King’s X.
Swedish deadly thrash metal purveyors THE HAUNTED are back with a bang! Following eight long years since the release of 2017’s much acclaimed studio album, ‘Strength in Numbers,’ THE HAUNTED is now pleased to announce its 10th studio album, ‘Songs of Last Resort,’ which will be released worldwide on May 30, 2025 via longtime partners Century Media Records.
To celebrate the release, the band is now unleashing the pummeling first single, “Warhead,” along with a video, which was directed by Patric Ullaeus (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, etc.). The clip can be found at THIS LOCATION.
Vocalist Marco Aro comments on the song, “This is the first single of our new album, ‘Songs of Last Resort.’ The song is called ‘Warhead’ and it’s an aggressive statement about the absolute horrors of the world we now have to live in!”
Guitarist Jensen adds, “When writing this song, I knew that we were on to writing a good album. The main riff came to me at work, and I had to take the afternoon off that day to immediately get it recorded and worked on while the inspiration from this one riff was still creating goosebumps. Lyrics are about various people in charge being ‘warheads,’ thriving in one way or another off of waging war. The intro sound FX were created together with Örjan Örnkloo (ex-Misery Loves Company, who also performs on ‘To Bleed Out’ and the title track ‘Letters of Last Resort’). I think it’s not a stretch to say that this song stand a real chance of becoming a fixture of our live set for many years to come…”
With music recorded by Oscar Nilsson at Studio Bohus, main vocals recorded by Björn Strid at The Cellar Studio, ‘Songs of Last Resort’ was then mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Kreator, Arch Enemy, Sepultura, etc). Artwork was once again provided by longtime visual collaborator Andreas “Diaz” Pettersson. Pre-orders are now live HERE.

«Everything happens for a reason. Michele and I parted ways after three albums that defined our peak – works still celebrated by our fans and critics alike. Now, years later, fate has brought us back together at the perfect moment to bring back the same vision of creating something just as powerful, with the same artistic depth and impact. You asked for it for years. Today, it’s reality!» – Olaf Thorsen
«Careful what you wish for! Life is full of circles and I’ve always felt there was unfinished business between me and the band I started my recording career with. It feels great to be a frontman again after many years supporting my heroes… This is the right time and we’ll make sure we’ll handle the whole thing with true passion – at the end of the day, Music is what really matters and I’m so proud of what we did back then! Can’t wait to start this new chapter!» – Michele Luppi

Portland, Oregon’s meditative doom seekers BREATH have found a new home with Italy’s Argonauta Records! Their sound is a cultivated vehicle of stillness, riding the churning white water of doom metal flow. Beginning with a solid foundation of bass and drums, the duo is joined by keys and guitar, with collaborator Rob Wrong of Witch Mountain engineering the project, ushering in a new dawn of verdant growth.
Known for their immersive and transcendent take on doom metal, BREATH crafts a sound that merges meditative stillness with crushing sonic waves. They draw inspiration from bands like Earth, OM, Grails, as well as the timeless influence of Black Sabbath and Ravi Shankar.
Founded by childhood friends Steven O’Kelly and Ian Caton, BREATH evolved from years of collaboration as an inseparable rhythm section. This bond led them to explore their own unique voice. Their debut album, Primeval Transmissions, was originally released in 2021 via Desert Records, featuring the masterful engineering of Rob Wrong (Witch Mountain) and mastering by the legendary Tad Doyle. Wrong also contributed guitar work to key tracks, including Halls of Amenti, which was re-released in a remixed and remastered edition in 2023.
With an expansive musical vision that blends high-decibel doom, hypnotic Eastern influences, and dynamic rhythmic textures, BREATH has continued to evolve, incorporating Lauren Hatch on keys in 2023 and Justin Acevedo on guitar in 2024.
Now, as they embark on the next chapter of their journey with Argonauta Records, BREATH is ready to bring their unique sonic meditations to a global audience. Stay tuned for more details on their upcoming releases!
