LAURA COX Announces Highly Anticipated New Studio Album “Trouble Coming”

Anglo-French guitarist, singer, and songwriter Laura Cox will release her highly anticipated fourth studio album Trouble Coming via earMUSIC on Friday October 31, 2025. The album is available to pre-order from https://lauracox.lnk.to/Album.

The album will be released physically as CD Digipak, 180g gatefold black vinyl, limited edition marbled white and black vinyl, and limited edition marbled transparent red and black vinyl.

Laura’s single “No Need To Try Harder” is available on all streaming platforms HERE.

In 2008, Laura embarked on her journey as a guitar prodigy on YouTube, where she captivated millions of people with her fiery classic rock covers and blues-infused solos. Her talent and charisma quickly propelled her from viral sensation to a celebrated figure in the rock scene, earning widespread acclaim for her raw, retro-inspired sound.

Laura is exactly what she promises to be: a badass rock’n’roll lady who makes her guitar produce sounds that are about to shake the world in a ground-breaking fashion.

After stepping into the spotlight thanks to her own cover versions of blues and rock classics on YouTube (903K subscribers – 105 million views), Laura quickly became the guitarist and singer with the most views in the French rock music scene thanks to her amazing first two albums Hard Blues Shot (2017) and Burning Bright (2019).

Laura continued to evolve with her sound with authenticity and power. Her 2023 album Head Above Water received praise for its classic-meets-modern rock fusion. Without question, she is highly regarded as the rising female rock artist in Europe.

Now, with her new album Trouble Coming, she strips things back to reveal a more introspective, soulful side without losing the edge that made her stand out in the first place.

Recorded at ICP Studios in Brussels, the album features 11 fresh tracks, mixed and engineered by Jean-Marc Pelatan at Studio des Muses, with tracks mastered by multi-GRAMMY award-winning Ted Jensen (Eagles’ Hotel California, Green Day’s American Idiot, The Police’ Synchronicity).

Album Track List

1. No Need To Try Harder
2. A Way Home
3. Trouble Coming
4. Inside the Storm
5. What Do You Know?
6. Dancing Around the Truth
7. Out Of The Blue
8. The Broken
9. Rise Together
10. Do I Have Your Attention?
11. Strangers Someday

Pioneer of the guitar on the internet, Laura has led the way for many young guitarists and is now at the forefront of the current landscape of guitarists in France and beyond. From bedroom recordings of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and the like, Laura uploaded the tracks on YouTube as early as 2008. From there she built a loyal following of half a million subscribers. Her re-interpretations of classic rock songs (that also feature her on the banjo, lap steel or bass) have reached more than 100 million viewers across the globe.

The multi-instrumentalist is one of the few artists who managed to break out of the virtual bubble and bring her musical highlighted life with her own band: After two albums released in 2017 and 2019 (Verycords/Warner) and having played the biggest, most prominent stages for rock music in France (Hellfest, Download Festival, Guitare en Scène, etc.), Laura Cox released her third studio album Head Above Water (2023), which highlighted a more personal take and a solid grasp on all things rock.

Head Above Water saw Laura re-inventing herself while revealing new facets of her musical talent. Recorded at the renowned ICP Studios in Brussels, and mastered by Ted Jensen (Eagles, The Rolling Stones, etc.), Head Above Water rocked the boat. In her riffs and solos, Laura masters both flow and precision and her playing clearly shows that this woman knows how to take a guitar apart. Blending classic rock with bluegrass elements in an unparalleled ease, Laura Cox once again illustrates that she will remain a driving force in a new generation of rock guitarists in the years to come.

Now, with her new album Trouble Coming slated for worldwide release on October 31, 2025, the best is yet to come.  The new album features the singles “No Need To Try Harder,” title track single “Trouble Coming,” and the forthcoming single “The Broken.”

THE RED CHORD’s Full-Length “Clients” to See Release on Vinyl for the First Time Ever in Celebration of the Record’s 20th Anniversary

Clients, the now-landmark full-length from THE RED CHORD, will see release on vinyl for the first time ever on October 17th via Metal Blade Records. The release comes in celebration of the record’s 20th anniversary!

THE RED CHORD has been cited as one of the most influential crossover bands of the hardcore, grind, and metal genres. After signing with Metal Blade in 2004, the band unleashed their second full-length, Clients in 2005, to widespread critical acclaim. Standing among one of the most dynamic and poignant albums of that year, Clients landed Decibel‘s first-ever perfect score (May 2005, Issue No. 7), the review reading in part, “In this day and age of bands developing instant followings by pandering to the lowest common denominator… THE RED CHORD attained their success by throwing caution to the wind and taking their awesome songs and robust live show anywhere that would host ’em. Truth be told, it’s this quintet’s songs that have made the difference and caused their profile to explode, car bomb-style.” In a 4/5 rating, Alternative Press wrote, “Clients explodes with the chug of hardcore, the velocity of grindcore, the time changes of math-metal, and the guttural vocals and pinched guitar squeals of technical death metal; but ultimately, it’s the band’s finesse at weaving this stuff into a blur that’ll have you scraping your jaw off the floor when the album’s playing.” Pitchfork concurred lauding a, “frenzied blast of uncompromising aggression that fuses the chaos, growling vocals, and lightning-fast beats of death metal and grindcore with the technical prowess of experimental math metal and the occasional driving, mid-tempo hardcore rhythm.” Added Blabbermouth, “It’s extreme music that you can feel in your bones, that satisfies the primal urges, and that stimulates and/or scars the mind.”

THE RED CHORD‘s Clients was recorded at Planet-Z in January 2005, produced by the band and Zeuss, recorded and mixed by Zeuss, with cover art by Paul Romano. The 20th anniversary vinyl edition of Clients was mastered by Zeuss and comes in a gatefold jacket, six-panel tri-fold insert, and DL card, plus a new vinyl cover, layout, and art elements that are not in the original 2005 CD layout and THE RED CHORD 2025 band portrait by Karen Jerzyk.

Reflects vocalist Guy Kozowyk on the release, “Clients is such an important part of our history. There was a vision for every component. The songwriting, the concepts, the sonic wizardry of Planet Z, and the intense visual arts. There has been a specific artistic concept that [artist] Paul [Romano] and I have discussed for the vinyl layout looming since 2004. After two decades, the stars aligned and the concept of the ‘Clients Family Tree’ was finally realized through the combination of Paul and Mike Wohlberg. Paul’s new illustrations are stunning. We are so excited to present this anniversary reissue with a remaster by the almighty Zeuss. It’s been a slow and methodical process, but we feel the final product is worth the wait. Thank you, Metal Blade for tolerating our fastidious nature and allowing us to be artists first.”

Notes Paul Romano, “Throughout my career, THE RED CHORD’s Clients remains an all-time favorite project for me. I worked very closely with Guy and the band while they were writing the album. From meeting with the actual ‘Clients’ to hanging in the practice space while the album was being written helped me have a deep understanding that makes the artwork feel ingrained with the music. Having this comprehensive understanding lent itself to picking up where we left off 20 years ago with a dream of Clients on vinyl with new artworks that would really bring the idea to the next level. It felt like visiting an old friend and talking as if no time had passed.”

Adds Zeuss, “I dug way deep into the archives from 20 years ago and found the original mixes. Not only are they properly prepared and mastered for vinyl, they sound even better than before!“

ABERTOOTH LINCOLN to Release New Single ‘Mother Is God’ on August 29th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 19, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: ABERTOOTH LINCOLN. Leave a comment

Abertooth Lincoln return with their new single ‘Mother is God’, a haunting ballad of abandonment, delusion, and the wreckage cults leave behind. This track is set to drop August 29 and is available for pre-save now via Golden Robot Records.

‘Mother is God’ marks a bold evolution for Abertooth Lincoln. Their first true ballad, the song is a slow-burning meditation on cult leader Amy Carlson – told from the imagined perspective of the child she left behind. It wrestles with the devastating contradiction of a woman who claimed to love the world but couldn’t love her own kid.

Musically, the track stretches Abertooth’s dynamic range: down-tempo and restrained in moments but laced with dissonance and tension that builds to a gripping, cathartic conclusion. Lyrically, it’s intimate and unflinching – capturing the pain of being cast aside while exposing the seductive, hollow nature of cults and the narcissists who lead them. Like many songs on Abertooth Lincoln’s upcoming album, ‘Mother is God’ explores how self-styled prophets often cloak self-interest in spiritual rhetoric, leaving real damage in their wake.

At its heart is a powerful parallel: the child’s yearning for connection mirrors the desperation felt by those who fall under a cult’s spell – a hunger for love and meaning that is met, again and again, with manipulation and betrayal. It’s a song that lingers long after the final note – raw, fearless, and painfully human.

Metal Avenger THOR Rocks The Universe with Pirate Radio Cleopatra

An all-new special edition of Cleopatra Records’ biweekly Pirate Radio Cleopatra lands today, dedicated in its entirety to the mighty Thor.

Available on Mixcloud, YouTube and podcast platforms everywhere, the 35 minute show features Thor discussing every track on his newly released Rock The Universe covers album, a dynamite set that sees the caped crusader dig deep into his own past to recreate 11 of the favorites that populated his live show during his earliest years as a performer.

Mixcloud – https://www.mixcloud.com/CleopatraRecords/pirate-radio-cleopatra-thor-rocks-the-universe/

Touring the Canadian club circuit around the mid-1970s, Thor and his band The Imps (featuring guitarist Frank Soda) nightly interspersed their own originals with crowd-pleasing numbers by The Doors, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, Deep Purple, The Sweet, The Beatles, Montrose, Eric Burdon, Muddy Waters, local legends Doucette and even James Taylor… but only once Elvis had got his hands on him.

In conversation with Cleopatra’s Dave Thompson stepping in for regular host and Delaware DJ Lady Crow, Thor reflects on those days, while also discussing why each song – and performer – was special to him. In addition, he not only reveals how The Sweet’s “Action” could have become his very first single, but also that the songs that make up Rock The Universe might easily have become his debut album!

Excerpts from the album accompany his words, both the final released versions and, behind the conversation, never before aired instrumental takes of every track.

Launched in October 2024, Pirate Radio Cleopatra has broadcast over 20 shows – tune in for Cleopatra’s latest releases, old favorites and future classics, plus specials dedicated both to specific genres (the four part Goth Top 100 and the Reggae Top 20) and to individual artists, including Pat Travers and Melanie.

It’s probably safe to say that Thor Rocks The Universe! is the loudest, and most tumultuous edition yet!

Silver Lining Music to release No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute to Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All on November 14th. The first single is The Almighty’s blistering, full-throttle cover of Metallica’s legendary “The Four Horsemen”, the band’s first recorded work with their founding lineup since 1991, chosen by the band as both a nod to their roots and a declaration of intent.

Pre-orders available here

“The Four Horsemen – by Metallica – got us back into the studio with the original lineup for the first time since 1991… Unbelievable!” lead singer and guitarist Ricky Warwick exclaims. “When the opportunity presented itself, it was really a no brainer, Metallica have been a huge influence for us… It was a bit nerve-wracking because we had not been in the studio for such a long time. We did the whole thing in a day and a half with as much power and passion as you would expect from The Almighty, it is such a powerful track. I think it turned out great, make sure you turn it up really, really loud!”

Watch/Listen to the first single, “The Four Horsemen” here video edited by Freakshot Film.

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute to Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All is a colossal celebration of the most propulsive debut album in heavy metal history, re-imagined by the legends who inspired it and the generations that came in its wake!

The veteran likes of Saxon, Diamond Head, and Motörhead, (three of Metallica’s favourite bands) are joined by rising stars such as Tailgunner and Swedish prog metallers Soen to create a who’s-who of heavy music, with each performer lending their unique sound to one classic track. Contributions from thrash giants Testament, ex-Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, and New Wave of British Heavy Metal linchpins Tygers of Pan Tang show the label looking beyond their own artists to amass the greatest lineup possible. Joining the super star line-up are the legendary Raven (closing with the thundering anthemic “Metal Militia”) who were part of Metallica’s first-ever tour, 1983’s famous Kill ‘Em All For One venture.

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute to Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All is an ambitious achievement worthy of Metallica’s game-changing legacy. By the fans and for the fans, it reaffirms the Four Horsemen’s ironclad status – and its stacked roster continues the band’s mission to shove metal up your ass.

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute to Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All track-listing:

  1. Hit The Lights (Tailgunner)
  2. The Four Horsemen (The Almighty)
  3. Motorbreath (Soen)
  4. Jump In The Fire (Tygers Of Pan Tang)
  5. (Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth (David Ellefson)
  6. Whiplash (Motörhead)
  7. Phantom Lord (Saxon)
  8. No Remorse (Diamond Head)

BRUCE DICKINSON: New Solo Album Planned for 2027

Image: Bruce Dickinson – The Mandrake Project

In an interview with Charlie Kendall’s Metalshop, Bruce Dickinson revealed his plans for a new solo album. After the highly successful 2024 release The Mandrake Project, things can now continue with fresh energy – but despite the drive and numerous demos, the road to a finished album is still long.

A rough target date of 2027 has been mentioned for the release and an accompanying tour, but the recording schedule is already more concrete. From January to April 2026, there’s a window in which Bruce Dickinson apparently has time alongside his activities as Iron Maiden frontman.

In the conversation, he explains:

“We’re going in the studio in January next year to record the album with Brendan Duffey, who remixed ‘Balls To Picasso’ and did an amazing job. So we go in the studio with him in January, and we are looking to release the album in ’27… The amazing band that is gonna record the new record with me is gonna be the same band that toured in Europe with me, and it’s gonna be the same band that’s gonna tour with me in 2027 when we release the new record. Or at least that’s the idea anyway, to release a new record.”

The singer also goes into how many creative ideas have already flowed into the album; there will definitely be no shortage of material.

Accordingly, we’ll still need a bit of patience before the first results from the studio can be heard. In the meantime, you can watch the complete interview here:
