MASTER’S ASHES (Ex‑Voivod, Crisis, Mindrot Veterans) Share ‘Defiance Disorder’ Single from Upcoming Debut LP “How The Mighty Have Fallen”

MASTER’S ASHES unveil their first single, “Defiance Disorder”, a visceral and uncompromising introduction to the sonic and thematic core of their upcoming debut album, “How The Mighty Have Fallen”, set for release on April 17 via Time To Kill Records.

Channeling the band’s fusion of dystopian heaviness, atmospheric tension and confrontational intensity, the track embodies the collective’s manifesto of resistance and collapse. Built on serrated riffwork, crushing rhythmic momentum, and a suffocating sense of urgency, “Defiance Disorder” encapsulates the ideological and musical pillars that define MASTER’S ASHES: a stark rejection of submission, a reflection on societal decay, and a powerful declaration of defiance forged through decades of extreme music experience.

The official premiere of the single is now live via Decibel Magazine. Stream it HERE.

Line-up:

Eric Forrest – Vocals
Afzaal Deen – Guitars, Additional Keyboards
Dan Kaufman – Guitars
Fred Waring III – Drums
Jeff Golden – Bass Guitars
Katie Golden – Keyboards

MASTER’S ASHES is far more than a band – it’s a reckoning. Forged from the ranks of a few untouchable acts, this collective of battle-hardened musicians brings decades of innovation, chaos, and raw expression into a single, volatile entity. There is that known expression, when something is “more than the sum of its parts”. Well, we’re sure that even if this band was “just” the sum of their parts, Eric Forrest (Voivod), Afzaal Deen and Fred Waring (Crisis), Dan Kaufman (Destroy Judas, Dystopia, Mindrot), Jeff Golden (Six Feet Under, Crowbar), and Katy Crimson (The Convalescence), would already be pretty awesome. Individually, they are legendary. But together, they are unstoppable. A force that refuses to bow, bend, or behave.

Drawing from the atmospheric dread of early-90s alternative heavy music and the radical energy of classic crust, proto-industrial, and apocalyptic metal, MASTER’S ASHES channels the spirit of Amebix, Crisis, Voivod, and Neurosis while igniting something fiercely new. Their sound is a serrated blend of dystopian riffwork, textured samples, and uncompromising intensity. Music built for a world on fire.

True to their name, MASTER’S ASHES stands firmly in defiance: no gods, no masters, only resistance. Their debut full-length, “How The Mighty Have Fallen”, is nothing short of a rallying cry, a scorched-earth commentary on the current political climate and a ruthless slap in the face to anyone expecting business as usual. It’s a dark, atmospheric, and aggressive opening statement from a band unafraid to speak truth to power and tear down the false idols of a collapsing age.

MASTER’S ASHES stands as a testament to what happens when experience, conviction, and rebellion collide. This is not a nostalgia act. This is not a supergroup gimmick. This is the next wave of resistance: loud, unfiltered, and inevitable.

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO Premiere Intoxicating New Album “De Venom Natura”

Fresh off of leaving a mark on their fiery debut, Ponte Del Diavolo are fanning the flames with their hotly-anticipated sophomore album. Drawing from the dark and dancing depths of the band’s dueling bassists and the raw spirit of their fiery live ritual, De Venom Natura delivers an all the more potent twist of blackened post-punk.

“Stylish, sinister and addictive, this is darkly romantic nightmare made manifest”, Blabbermouth writes in an 8/10 review.

“Ponte Del Diavolo is easily the best blackened post-punk band around”, writes New Noise, “though it’s the ways the leverage and emphasize their strengths that renders their sophomore record among the most engaging heavy records of 2026”.

De Venom Natura was released on Friday, February 13 on Season of Mist, and you can hear all seven intoxicating songs by listening to the full album stream on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

Order the album here: https://orcd.co/pontedeldiavolovenomnatura

At the heart of De Venom Natura lies a central concept: Nature as both seduction and toxin, creation and annihilation. The record contemplates poison not as mere destruction, but as a transformative agent within an eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth. Across seven tracks, including “Lunga vita alla necrosi,” and “Il veleno della Natura,” the band articulate this duality through ritualistic repetition, lyrical invocations and a tension-driven sonic architecture.

Emerging from Turin’s underground in 2020, Ponte Del Diavolo have forged a distinct identity rooted in doom, black metal, post-punk and wave. Their uncommon dual-bass configuration remains central to the project’s character, grounding rhythmic guitars beneath wave-tinged female vocals and a raw, dynamic drum pulse. On De Venom Natura, that foundation is pushed further. The core instrumentation was recorded live at The Deepest Sea studio in Turin to preserve the immediacy and tension of their performances.

With De Venom Natura, Ponte del Diavolo extend their boundaries without abandoning their core identity. It is a record that channels stage-born intensity into a controlled studio ritual, where poison becomes revelation and decay becomes a form of consciousness.

Tracklist:

  1. Every Tongue Has Its Thorns (6:25)
  2. Lunga vita alla necrosi (4:01)
  3. Spirit, Blood, Poison, Ferment! (4:36)

  5. Delta-9 (161) (8:52)
  6. Silence Walk With Me (6:17)
  7. In the Flat Field (4:54)
    Full runtime: 40:02

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO craft a focused blend of doom, black metal, post‐punk, and wave—an aesthetic they call “blackened post‐punk.” Wave‐tinged female vocals anchor the project’s flaming core, supported by an uncommon dual‐bass setup that grounds the rhythmic guitars and a raw, dynamic drum pulse.

The result is an immersive, tension‐driven sound. Following the initial release of three EPs, the band signed to Season of Mist and unveiled their first full-length album, Fire Blades from the Tomb.

After two years on the road – appearing at leading European festivals such as Roadburn and Inferno in support of their debut – Ponte del Diavolo return with “De Venom Natura,” a record that extends and refines their musical boundaries.

THE GROGGY DOGS to Storm the Horizon with New Album “No Grog, No Glory” on April 23rd, New Video ‘One Last Toast’ Out Now

Spain’s rowdy pirate crew, THE GROGGY DOGS, are set to release their fiercest album to date, “No Grog, No Glory,” on 23 April.

To mark their latest return to port, the band has premiered the music video for their single “One Last Toast,” a raucous, chant-heavy track that serves as the perfect call-to-arms for the album’s campaign. After plundering European taverns and leaving a trail of scorched stages in their wake, the band returns with a battle cry of punk, ska, and metal-fuelled sea shanties that is their most defiant statement yet.

The Groggy Dogs are a Spanish crew who haven’t just plundered traditional sea shanties treasure chests—they’ve spiked them with classic rock, punk, ska, and metal, then dragged the whole thing to a sweaty mosh pit, demanding everyone raise a tankard of ale and join the mutiny. Set for release in April, their new album “No Grog, No Glory” is a furious, high-energy battle cry for outsiders and misfits, built on a foundation of fiddles, accordion, distorted guitars, and choruses soaked in grog.

Formed in 2020, the band quickly established a reputation for their “hooligan edge” to maritime folk. Following their first two albums (Grog o’Clock and Still Groggin’), The Groggy Dogs spent the following years cementing an explosive, crowd-driven live reputation, storming stages across Europe and appearing at major festivals including Castlefest, Kingdom of Elfia, and Triskell Festival. Their current era, set up by new single “One Last Toast”, sees the crew sharpening their songwriting while leaning harder into the party-ska side of their sound—fast rhythms, big choruses, and grooves made for spilled drinks.

“No Grog, No Glory” captures that spirit, twisting generational sea shanties into something loud and relevant for the modern age, all recorded raw and self-produced in their own studio. Lyrically, the album revolves around the collective: the pirate crew as a metaphor for an ideal, unified society that leaves no one behind. At its core, this record is a celebration of loyalty, social unity, and resistance to authority (seen through an 18th-century pirate lens), proving that the stories of old taverns and mutinous crews still work perfectly when you turn the volume up and rally the crew.

‘No Grog, No Glory’ is out 23rd April.

Album Tracklist:

1. Storms Ahead!
2. All Hands on Deck
3. One Last Toast
4. Fifteen Men on a Deadman’s Chest
5. Roll The Grog Around
6. The Ballad of Woodenhand Sam
7. Seven Seas of Grog
8. The Sea for The Free
9. Go To Sea No More
10. Roll The Woodpile Down
11. The Keelhauling Set

Cap’n Mauro: Vocals and Guitar
