Back after a six year break with the black magic fully recharged, Castle have delivered a juggernaut of riffery in a hook-laden mix of doom and psychedelictinged classic metal. Adding to the atmosphere of majestic doom, Elizabeth Blackwell’s haunted, full-blooded vocals are electric witch hymns of death and madness; ‘Hear my warning, heed my call’ indeed.

Recorded at Raincity Recorders in Vancouver B.C. by producer Jesse Gander (Anciients, 3 Inches Of Blood, Brutus) Evil Remains sonically balances the warm and fuzzy with the bombastic power of an alternate universe stadium rock band. Bassist/vocalist Elizabeth Blackwell and guitarist/vocalist Mat Davis bring their unique female and male vocal attack and scorching, serpentine riffs to dizzying new heights. Rounded out by drummer Mike Cotton’s thunderous precision, Evil Remains delivers a metallic knock out punch from the first to the last note of its eight pummeling tracks.

Written over a five year period – beginning in Castle’s then home town of Joshua Tree, California after a year-long tour for their previous album, Deal  Thy Fate – the songwriting culminated this past year with pre-production sessions taking place in the band’s new twin home bases of San Francisco and Vancouver. Since storming out of San Francisco with their 2011 debut, In Witch Order, Castle have toured relentlessly, playing close to 700 shows on three continents. The live ritual resumes this year across North American and European dates.

Line up:
Liz Blackwell – Bass, vocals
Mat Davis – Guitar, vocals
Mike Cotton – Drums

INCINERATION IN THE INFINITE Signs with Wormholedeath for Release of “Serpent’s Tongue” EP

Wormholedeath is excited to announce that Ömer Doğramacı has signed with Wormholedeath to release Serpent’s Tongue, the highly anticipated EP from his second project, INCINERATION IN THE INFINITE, set to drop on 14 March 2025.

Incineration in the Infinite is a Blackened Doom Metal project initiated by Ömer Doğramacı. Serving as a sister band to his other project, Fragmentary Solid Abyss, both projects explore similar musical and conceptual territories. However, Incineration in the Infinite has distinctive tempo shifts and streamlined song structures.

The project embraces simplicity in its songwriting, drawing inspiration from the rebellious essence of Punk Rock while layering in the crushing weight of Stoner Metal and the dark, brooding atmospheres of Doom.

“I’m happy and honored once again to work with WormHoleDeath Records,” stated Omer. “This time the goal of the music was simplicity. The album reflects the spirit of the Punk Rock movement in its approach but incorporates the heaviness of Stoner Metal and Doom themes. The performance is loose and free, with the priority on feel and atmosphere.”

Tracklist:

  1. Satanic Ritual in the Fog of Night
  2. Dancing Among the Stars
  3. The Gates of Daemons

With their first ever American tour drawing closer, The long running French indietronic duo KAP BAMBINO continue drip-feeding their upcoming new album, No Domination, with the release of its title track as their next single.

“No Domination” followed the critically revered “Parasite” in to circulation, again accompanied by an eye-and-ear catching video, this time a thrilling monochrome live performance that exquisitely captures the hard-hitting energies of the single.

Since forming in 2001, Kap Bambino have established themselves among the top electro bands in Europe, with five albums and a host of singles honing the aggro beats of Orion Bouvier and the vocal shrieks of Caroline Martial into a powerful musical combination that cannot – and will not – be ignored.

Set for March release on CD and purple vinyl, No Domination is Kap Bambino’s first full length album since 2019, and it will be accompanied by their maiden North American tour, featuring shows in New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto and three performances at SXSW!

The relentless drive of “No Domination” is certain to raise the already sky high anticipation even higher.

STINKY Release Fifth Single/Music Video ‘Mourning Flowers’ from Forthcoming New Album

As we head to the eventual and anticipated release date of the fourth album from France’s STINKY, the group reveals yet more content from the group’s new effort. “Solace” will be in stores Feb. 21st but you can now check out another track with today’s release of their “Mourning Flowers” single and its accompanying music video.

Heady refrains, sharp melodies, incisive breaks… after the dark and intense “Under Care” (featuring guest vocals from Comeback Kid singer Andrew Neufeld), French band STINKY are back with a new, brighter single. “Mourning Flowers” or when hold and dependence gives way to solace and reconstruction. With this fifth single from the forthcoming album, the band confirms a new, fully-assumed artistic direction.

“Solace” was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Fabien Guilloteau (Hacride, Klone, The Necromancers) and is available to preorder now on limited-edition colored vinyl (white & green marble / EU) or green splatter on clear (US), Digipak CD or digital https://lnk.to/stinky

“STINKY demonstrate their desire to explore new horizons, and promise a varied and ever more melodic album,” explains drummer Paul Saltet.

“Solace” comes 5 years since the band’s previous full-length, ‘Of Lost Things,’ was released, and while the group’s sound is intact several new members have joined the band leaving just the core of drummer Paul and vocalist Clair. The 3 new members — Max on bass and Enzo and Clément on guitars — remain true to the group’s original mission and sound while expanding the palette created. The group has been active playing shows all over France, including key festivals like Hellfest, Omega Sound Fest, Brut’fier, SidFest, WeMetal Fest, and Nantes Metal Fest, as well as getting over to the UK for Manchester Punk Festival.

Since their formation a decade ago, STINKY has played more than 350 concerts across 15 different countries in support of their first three albums, 2015’s ‘Against Wind and Tide,’ 2017’s ‘From Dead-End Street,’ and 2020’s ‘Of Lost Things.’ While the band’s name might seem curious to some, their music is a combustible mix of energy and aggression with enough melody to keep it catchy and infectious.

REEKMIND Release ‘Slithering Spell’ Single from Upcoming Debut Album

Australian death-doom metallers REEKMIND have released the second single from their upcoming debut album, “Mired in the Reek of Grief”, set to unleash its haunting presence on MC and LP format via Night Terrors Records on March 7th, 2025.

The new song is called “Slithering Spell” and it’s now premiering via Mystification Zine at THIS LOCATION.

With their peculiar blend of crushing riffs and emotionally charged atmospheres, REEKMIND takes listeners on a harrowing journey through the depths of human despair. As the band describes, “The Reekmind is a manifestation of insurmountable grief that is represented in a physical form which slowly overtakes one’s mind and causes all affected to spiral into an inescapable well of misery and mental agony.” This ethos is deeply embedded in their music, delivering an experience that is both devastatingly heavy and cathartically profound.

REEKMIND‘s debut album bridges the gap between classic death-doom foundations and atmospheric, almost transcendental elements that flirt with the introspective tones of post-metal and the visceral weight of sludge. The result is a soundscape that is both raw and expansive, embodying the essence of pure sonic catharsis.

The album’s organic production enhances its live-like authenticity, enveloping listeners in a sound that feels immediate, honest, and deeply personal. REEKMIND eschews flashy gimmicks, focusing instead on the power of the riff and constructing cohesive, expansive structures that resonate long after the final note fades.

For fans of: Inverloch, Krypts, Thou

III. Wading in a Body of Death
