Italian progressive death metal legends SADIST announce their tenth studio album “Something To Pierce”, set for release on March 7th via Agonia Records. The song “No Feast For Flies” is the first single to be released off the album. It’s being premiered in the form of a lyric video:

Following the well-acclaimed “Firescorched”, released in 2022, the new album “Something To Pierce” promises to be even more aggressive, both musically and lyrically. The band’s tenth installment is a bold amalgamation of technique, aggression and experimentation; in short, “a further step towards the definition of a unique music style, which you can’t help but love…or hate,” comments founding member & mastermind, Tommy Talamanca. “Like it or not, nobody sounds like Sadist!”

“Something To Pierce” was record, mixed and mastered by Tommy Talamanca at Nadir Music Studios in Genoa, Italy. The cover artwork was created by Andreas Christanetoff of Armaada Art (Aborted).

SADIST started out in the early nineties, having emerged from Genoa in Italy. The band went ahead of its time, with an adventurous take on the then-developing progressive death metal subgenre. Its presence was firmly established through an unmistakable style, detectable since the debut installment “Above The Light” (1993). After a five year hiatus (2000-2005), SADIST returned to its proven sonic formula of jazz-infected epic prog-death, fraught with Middle-Eastern influences.

Along its path, SADIST kicked off concerts for Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Slayer and Motorhead, and gained exposure at high-profile fests (Wacken Open Air, Gods Of Metal, Hellfest). In 2023 alone, the band shared the stage with Samael, Pantera, Dark Tranquility and Sepultura, and continued to play festivals and one-off dates throughtout 2024, amidst putting final touches on new album, “Something To Pierce”. Among the group’s last live appeacnces are Prog Power Europe and Corpsorate Death Fest.

Exclusive Premiere for Finland: TROLD ‘Mod Den Endeløse Skov’ Official Video

Here comes the story of the mournful but inevitable journey we all undeniably have to take sooner or later. In this new single from TROLD’s upcoming sophomore album, the Troll takes his journey with a raised forehead while he reflects proudly in quiet mind, on his life in the forest. A final farewell to his trolls before the reaper follows him on his way to the endless forest. A magnificent melodic ballad that shows Trold from a new side.

Join the premiering here:

Trold has its roots well planted in the Nordic soil where inspiration is found in a wealth of fairy tales and mythologies. Giants, Gods, the animals of the forest, and the marvelous world of the sea are just some of the places Trold takes the listeners to. They play folk metal with a mischievous smile, which is guaranteed to kick off the party from inside the large, dark Danish forests. The storytelling and melodies are in focus when playing with different instruments and heavy guitar rhythms to create the perfect atmosphere. The stories grow, hiss, and are sung, while the listeners/audience are taken on a host of adventures.

After their debut album “Der Var Engang…”, released in the Spring of 2023, the Trolls have been brewing in the caves for the next adventure, which is now about to begin. “I Skovens Rige” will be released on gatefold LP (green vinyl limited to 500), digipack CD (including 28-page booklet) and digital on March 14th, 2025 via Emanzipation Productions.

MARKO HIETALA Unveils Video for New Single ‘Rebel Of The North’

Marko Hietala, the iconic vocalist and bassist, makes a triumphant return with his powerful new single ‘Rebel of the North’. This high-energy classic rock anthem is a perfect showcase of Marko’s talent for crafting timeless, hard-hitting music. The single serves as another taste of his highly anticipated upcoming album, Roses from the Deep, which is set to release on February 7, 2025, and is eagerly awaited by fans worldwide.

Accompanying the release is a unique and visually striking music video. Filmed against the breathtaking backdrop of a picturesque Spanish village, the video captures the band’s electrifying performance, seamlessly blended with the song’s bold and inspiring lyrics. The stunning contrast between the rugged rock sound and the tranquil Mediterranean setting makes this release a feast for the senses.

Marko Hietala comments:“This one is a rocker. The main riff will put you into the Nordics with a slam. And the story is about reimagining, reinventing, and then gathering yourself into a better new being. We should never take ourselves for granted. It leads to becoming jaded and boring. Your inner kid wants to learn and apply anything and everything. Just don’t get in the way of yourself.”
