Following their much-acclaimed 2022-debut album, An End, Once and for All, modern metalcore act HumanKind has surprised fans with a brand new song! While the band is currently gearing up for their sophomore studio album – to be produced, mixed and mastered once again by Christoph Wieczorek (Annisokay, Sawdust Recordings) – a music video for the high-voltage, new banger “Fed Up” is now premiering below.

“Fed Up screams right in your face: “It’s enough!”. This song has been written from a deep state of not wanting to endure the same torture and helplessness again and again,“ the band comments, and adds: “It’s crucial to break the cycle at the exact point when we’ve decided to pursue new ways and write the next chapter to become the person we ought to be. Fed Up is the musical rethinking of HumanKind in the wake of partly shifting the focus to the more dangerous and wrathful aspects of having to deal with mental issues in our everyday lives.”

Prepare for a sonic singularity as the electrifying, female-fronted metal outfit THE WAVE AND THE PARTICLE announces their official signing with WormHoleDeath Records. This partnership paves the way for the release of their album, “Electric Sheep”, set to drop on January 31st, 2025.

Album preview:

The Wave and the Particle, based in Fremont, CA, fuses post-industrial rock, symphonic metal, and progressive rock into a powerful, unique sound. Formed in 2015 by Vasiliy and Katie, the band started as an experiment to blend dark industrial beats with soaring symphonic vocals. In 2016, guitarist Chandra joined, adding intricate solos that enriched their sound, culminating in their debut album, “Event Horizon,” released in 2019.

Despite challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, the lineup solidified in 2021 with the addition of drummer Abhiram and bassist Alessandro. Over the next two years, they refined their sound and experimented with new song structures.

As 2023 approached, the band began work on their second album, “Electric Sheep,” inspired by cyberpunk themes that explore technologies, transhumanism, globalization, and digital identity. Committed to pushing musical boundaries, The Wave and the Particle crafts music that resonates on multiple levels.

CLOSE ENEMIES with Tom Hamilton of AEROSMITH Sign to TLG|ROCK

Close Enemies, a powerhouse band featuring legendary musicians Tom Hamilton, multiple Grammy winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, and bassist of the biggest-selling American rock band of all time, Aerosmith, is joined by legendary drummer Tony Brock (The Babys and Rod Stewart), touring veterans Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow and Don Henley) and Trace Foster on guitar, and singer Chasen Hampton, who has been singing professionally since the age of 11, as a member and co-host of the famed 90s Mickey Mouse Club and pop group The Party, proudly announce their signing with TLG|ROCK for management and label services. The record will be distributed through Virgin Music Group. Unlike the name suggests, these five guys are close friends, each with an illustrious musical career.

The band will release their debut single “Sound Of A Train” on January 17th and will be playing shows in support (dates below).

Following the recent release of their furious title track “Lost In Flames”, today, SABER have unleashed a music video for their latest single “Madam Dangerous”! The band reveals:

“Madam Dangerous is a song based off of an encounter one of the members of the band had with a woman after a show. The song is about a woman who is seeking her prey for the evening. What seems to be an exciting night at first, ends in the demise of her target.”

SABER is known for their uniquely sleazy take on the NWOTHM sound. The band emerged in 2018 after lead guitarist Joel Dominguez, who was already working on some similar material with rhythm guitarist Jesus Delgado and bassist David Sanchez, received a message from singer Steven Villa about starting a new 80s-inspired band.

A series of thundering tracks followed soon after, which were refined into their 2021 debut album “Without Warning”. Produced and released with the help of Trevor William Church (HAUNT), who also filled in as the drummer, the album received overwhelmingly positive reactions. Being named as one of Bandcamp’s best albums of the year and outranking EXODUS and IRON MAIDEN on “BraveWords” annual Top 30 list cemented their place on the scene.

Sonically and aesthetically, SABER’s artistic identity is firmly rooted in the 80s. With Jesus now as their drummer and the addition of guitarist Antonio ‘Yogi’ Pettinato, the fearsome fivesome draws from notable influences such as JUDAS PRIEST, QUEENSRYCHE, RIOT, CRIMSON GLORY and IRON MAIDEN. Through their own unique lens, they’ve created a distinctly energetic audiovisual experience that resonates with their diverse and growing fanbase. “We are heavily inspired by all 80s music, including the glam era. Though our looks are unmistakably glam, don’t let that fool you… our songs are heavy and loud!”, says Joel Dominguez. Joel reflects on how they got started, “The first new track I wrote for “Lost In Flames” was “On the Hunt”, which was the spark we needed. We were at rehearsal one day and I played the opening riff. Everyone was shocked, ‘Is that your riff?! Keep playing!’ By the end of that rehearsal that song was completed, and the heat flowed from then on. There were some tough times in the process and things kept happening that would derail our attempt to write songs. We persevered through it.” The new tracks also mark a new chapter and unleashes a logical follow-up by a band that grew together and got more experienced.

Once again SABER went back to their friend and supporter Trevor at Church Recordings, where they recorded “Lost In Flames”, that was mixed and mastered by Darren Trentacoste. JÄRNBÖRD Share ‘Vi ska ätas, vi ska dömas’ Single from Upcoming Album

Sweden’s JÄRNBÖRD will release their second album “Filmer för blinda” (Movies for the blind) on January 10th 2025.

Today, the band is premiering the album’s second single, “Vi ska ätas, vi ska dömas”, at IDIOTEQ. Watch the video HERE.

The album took almost four years to complete. The fact that it took so long has a lot to do with the band releasing a handful of split records and singles in the meantime, but also because of an ambition to really invest this time. “What happens if we broaden the view of what our grindcore really is? Can we attack the songs from another direction – plank a Pixies stick, interpret Björn Afzelius?”

On Björn Afzelius’s song “Flickan i snøn”, the band is guested by Anna Wagner from, among others, Dead Sleep. She is joined by more guest artists. In “Rockar med mammon” Mikey Lennartsson from Gamla Pengar and The Dahmers rasps out lines about having time to listen to Slayer and in “Vi ska ätas, vi ska dömas”, the techno artist Johanna Knutsson sings about how sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut.

“Filmer för blinda” revolves around the phenomenon of being human – during one and the same day, we can be exposed to feelings of helplessness, joy, sadness, anger, fatigue, love, friendship and hatred. How do we handle it? How do we stay afloat? Some close their eyes, others confront it. Some booze their day away, others go to work. Some becomes right-wing, others renovate their balcony. But in the end, nothing really matters. It’s movies for the blind.

“It has been important for us not to get stuck in the generic. Although we have taken every opportunity to place ourselves in the grindcore genre, we have always identified ourselves as a regular rock band. We quite often play a very fast form of rock music, but in the end it’s completely normal rock we deal with. It also gives greater freedom in terms of lyrics. I want to be able to write about raw capitalism, but I also want to sing about fast cars and Torgny Lindgren”, says Anders Schärberg, who plays guitar and sings in JÄRNBÖRD.

“Filmer för blinda” is mostly recorded in Studio Covid by Niklas Ehrlin, with the exception of the drums, which were recorded in Studio Tonhuvud by Hannes Heed. Mixed and mastered by Ulf Blomberg, HoboRec Recording Studio.

Vinyl-LP is released by De:nihil Records (SWE) and 7Degrees Records (GER). CD is released by Hecatombe Records (SP) and Esagoya Records (JPN).

SEVEN KINGDOMS Cap Milestone Year with Cover of MR. MISTER’s ‘Kyrie’

2024 was a milestone year for Florida power metallers SEVEN KINGDOMS. Not only did they sign with a new label, Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), but they also headlined an extensive North American tour and released their new EP, “The Square.” In addition, the band have garnered widespread critical acclaim, with the title track of “The Square” being named a top track by Metal Hammer UK and an exclusive EP premiere at Decibel Magazine.

To celebrate, they’ve released a video for their fan-favourite cover of MR. MISTER‘s ‘Kyrie.’ The cover stays true to the original 80s while adding SEVEN KINGDOMS‘ unique twist. The video features the band enjoying their travels on tour and having fun at every band’s favourite location, Buc-ees!

The band comment: “‘Kyrie’ is a cover song chosen by one of our faithful kickstarter backers. We started doing them a few years ago as an option on our kickstarters for fun and to show the musical flexibility of the band. I (Sabrina) have always enjoyed going out to sing karaoke or covering my favourite songs (I used to post myself singing them before copyright infringement issues took the fun out of it). This was a fun song to sing and I feel the lyric content is very on point for bands that go on tour. Kyrie translates to ‘Lord have mercy’ which when driving all around the world at all hours of the day and night, amongst responsible and non responsible people, we put our lives on the line every second we are on the road. I often refer to highways as ‘The river of idiots’ which can be anyone at any given moment.”
