GHOSTWOUND Unleash Music Video for ‘Funky Robot’, New Album Out December 6th

Psychedelic rockers GHOSTWOUND are gearing up to drop their new and self-titled album on December 6 via Go Down Records. Hailing from Milan, this four-piece band boasts a deep-rooted connection to the Italian underground psychedelic rock scene. Their truly unique style features dreamlike vocals, broken funk grooves, cosmic modular synths, and, above all, complex layers of fuzz and reverberate guitars with hallucinatory acid blues solos. In ten songs, the richness and variety of the atmospheres that follow one another are made homogeneous by a colourful and genuine sound. Each single track conceals a long series of inspired intuitions and precious details, that reveal themselves little by little with every listening, elevating the album to the purest peaks of creativity.

For those who love the evolution of the Hard Psych sounds from the late 60s, the Kraut Rock weirdness of the mid-70s, the super funk breakbeats of James Brown, and also the vocal harmonies of the 90s UK Shoegaze, you’ll be able to find something surprisingly flavourful in the band’s new record!

MASTER BOOT RECORD will be touring in support of their HARDWAREZ full-length, released last month via Metal Blade Records.

HARDWAREZ explores the duality of technology. The LP, which follows 2022’s Personal Computer and 2020’s Floppy Disk Overdrive, comes from the expansive mind of multi-instrumentalist and MBR mastermind Vittorio D’Amore (aka Victor Love), an Italian producer who emerged from the underground as an anonymous project in 2016 to create the soundtrack for the cyberpunk point-and-click adventure game VirtuaVerse. The project seamlessly evolved into a standalone entity, releasing over fourteen albums in just a few years.

To create HARDWAREZ, the technologist worked by live streaming his desktop on YouTube while composing new music. Everything is programmed via MIDI. Intensive touring augmented with live musicians helped Love make the decision to include real guitars to achieve a massive sound and boost the enhanced frequency spectrum of the instrument. Additionally, the tracks feature sections without overdubs and with updated drum samples and a new mixing approach, creating a more vibrant and punchy drum sound.

HARDWAREZ, earned the #3 spot on Billboard’s Current Electronic Albums chart upon its first week of release. Elsewhere, the record took the #11 position on the Current Hard Music Albums chart, #17 on the Top New Artists Albums chart, and more! See additional chart positions below.

WOLVESPIRIT Reveal Title Track + Video of Upcoming Album “Bullshit”

Uh, excuse me? That sounds very suspiciously like an absolute bullshit report! That’s right: It would be nice – but it’s total bullshit. And why? Because Bullshit is not only the name, but also the concept of the new WolveSpirit album, which will be released on January 24, 2025 as the successor to Change The World, which reached number 30 in the German album charts in 2022.

If you want to know the whole bullshit story of the Classic/Hard Rockers about the new single in full bloom, you can find it HERE. But now to the real facts:

Bullshit, the single that gives the upcoming album its title, occupies a central position in the program of the new WolveSpirit project. The song is not only meant as a stop sign against crude false reports, it also points out that we have created a world full of illusions. Millions of people take refuge in parallel digital realities every day and pretend to be someone other than they really are. We are not only lying to others, but often also to ourselves, because the truth is often more painful for us than living in a self-made illusory world. The question therefore arises more and more often: What is ‘the truth’? And how much of it do we even want? The ‘bullshit’ spread by WolveSpirit themselves is intended to be so obvious that we can sharpen our focus for less obvious bullshit and keep our bullshit detectors switched to reception mode. You could also say that WolveSpirit bullshit is genuine organic bullshit produced exclusively by happy bulls.

Bullshit is the most ambitious project in the band’s history to date, which can already look back on joint tours with Uriah Heep and Spiritual Beggars, among others. The eleven-song new album will be available digitally (with the digital version also including the bonus track Joker) as well as on CD and vinyl and can be pre-ordered now.

The band from Würzburg (Germany) describes their thoughts on the origins of the Bullshit project like this: “We wrote the song Bullshit during the Covid period, which was not easy for us and many other musicians. We were particularly offended by all the disinformation and, above all, the obvious attempts at manipulation that almost all of us were exposed to. When you experience such ambiguous and interest-driven communication, it’s easy to lose faith, even in institutions. As humanity, we have always lied to ourselves or tried to concentrate power and control others. The difference today is that we have technologies that enable total control. On the other hand, however, there is a ray of hope, because we can also uncover lies much more quickly these days and escape the control of the ever-tightening networks of power-seeking authorities and interest groups. We can stand up and say: No to bullshit! Let’s uncover the bullshit of this world together and put it where it belongs – on the dung heap!”

HAIL OF BULLETS Stream Self-titled EP, Out Today

Celebrated Dutch death metal brigade HAIL OF BULLETS is streaming its self-titled debut EP, released on Agonia Records today, on November 22nd. The EP is available in CD, LP, tape and digital formats.

Guitarist & founder Stephan Gebédi had this to say on the reissue: “The EP that started it all in 2007 for us and turned Hail of Bullets in a Death Metal force to be reckoned with overnight! After hearing this EP for the first time, Silenoz (Dimmu Borgir) said that: «When you think there’s no more hope for brutal music, where every bands sounds the same, Hail of Bullets come along and just level everything with the ground! Pretenders – move over!» And after producing our full-length album, Dan Swanö stated: «One of the best, if not the best albums I worked on for a very, very, very long time!» Not much we can add to this, I guess!”

The EP, originally self-released, was distributed by the band themselves in CD-R format for a number of years. Having been unavailable since, Agonia Records will restore it back to live with revamped artwork and in several different formats, including three vinyl iterations.

Often lauded as a death metal supergroup, HAIL OF BULLETS started out in 2006 and released three studio albums to their name, all with the same line-up comprising Stephan Gebédi (Thanatos) on guitars, Martin van Drunen (Asphyx) on vocals, Paul Baayens (Asphyx, Thanatos) on guitars, Theo van Eekelen (Houwister, Grand Supreme Blood Court) on bass and Ed Warby (Ayreon, ex-Gorefest) on drums.

She grew up singing to Alanis Morissette, Jewel, and Madonna.
