RESCÜE CAT Reveal New Single ‘Flesh & Weapon’

Italian hardcore stalwarts RESCÜE CAT have released a brand new single, entitled “Flesh & Weapon”. The song is the title-track of the band’s upcoming debut EP, due out February 14th, 2025 via Time To Kill Records.

Watch the video of “Flesh & Weapon” at THIS LOCATION.

“Flesh & Weapon” is an intense and evocative exploration of resilience, pain, and the raw emotions that define human connections. The song reflects on unfulfilled potential, the weight of past experiences, and the struggle to reconcile with lost time and unspoken truths. Through visceral imagery and gripping metaphors, it delves into the duality of flesh as both a source of vulnerability and strength, and weaponry as a metaphor for survival. With haunting lyrics like “Burn at the stake, may your worst nightmare be your final resting place” the track delivers a powerful anthem of defiance and self-awareness, embodying the spirit of metallic hardcore.

Tracklist:

1. Enter the sewer trap
2. Who’s the killer?
3. Soft/quiet/cruel (ft. Jorelia)
4. End me, coward
5. Malice practice (ft. Norman Bates)
6. My own demise
7. Mother to no one (ft. Mayoulivetoburyme)
8. Flesh & weapon

Founded in Lombardy in early 2023 and now hailing from different parts of Italy, RESCÜE CAT is an energetic hardcore band bursting with attitude and… love! Starting off as friends in the local scene, they’re now ready to make their mark as one of the fresh faces of Italian hardcore. With performances at major events like Venezia Hardcore and Built to Blast already under their belts, they’ve developed a distinct style that mixes intense, emotional lyrics, tight compositions, and dreamy imagery.

In eight visceral tracks, the band pours out their passion for fast riffs and emotion-packed lyrics. “Flesh & Weapon” is a concept that dives into themes like shame and love, religious guilt, motherhood and girlhood, body horror, and trauma, all driven by furious blast beats and impassioned deliveries. Each track weaves a haunting narrative, blending dreamy imagery with raw, unfiltered anger. RESCÜE CAT aims to carve out a unique spot in the hardcore scene, offering anyone feeling isolated an unflinching look and a crutch to hang on.

SOLACE Sign Multi-Album Deal with Magnetic Eye Records

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 17, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SOLACE. Leave a comment

American metal stalwarts SOLACE have signed a multi-album contract with Magnetic Eye Records. The five-piece originally from Asbury Park, New Jersey will issue an expanded edition of their debut album “Further” in celebration of its 25th anniversary this summer, along with their upcoming fifth full-length also via the label in the last quarter of 2025.

SOLACE have already announced US live dates for early 2025. The roadtrip through the South and Southwest kicks off on January 23 at Bandito’s in Richmond, VA. Please see below for all currently confirmed shows.

SOLACE comment: “Solace are happy to announce our signing to Magnetic Eye Records, a label we respect and more importantly who respects us”, guitarist Justin Daniels writes on behalf of the band. “We’re looking forward to an awesome partnership that lets us get more of our dirt metal out to the world.”

Daniels continues: “This announcement is bittersweet in coming just a week after the passing of our original singer Jason. If nothing else, Solace perseveres as long as we can lift guitars and switch on amps. We move through sadness and look forward to honoring Jason’s legacy and our own with this newest chapter of the band.“

Jadd Shickler adds: “I had the privilege to sign Solace in 1999″, the Magnetic Eye director adds. “They were the best band my first label ever signed, and they still are. Through different incarnations and numerous line-ups, I’ve dedicated countless years to making sure as many people as possible saw and heard their greatness, and I’m more than ready for Magnetic Eye Records to ram Solace’s music down throats for countless more years to come.“

SOLACE are celebrated veterans of the American metal scene. Hailing from Asbury Park, New Jersey at the windswept shore of the Western Atlantic, the band was founded in 1996. Built on a solid foundation of classic metal, early doom and punk ethic, the original four-piece infused a healthy dose of hardcore fury into grooving, grinding sludge.

Debut full-length “Further” garnered immediate attention for SOLACE on both sides of the Atlantic at the turn of the millennia. Three years later, the sophomore album “13” (2003) witnessed the Americans expanding and solidifying their style by highlighting the epic side of their songwriting. In the wake of this album, the band was invited twice to perform at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in 2006 and 2009, which further endeared them to an international audience.

Following a string of singles and EPs, the shoremen returned with acclaimed third album “A.D.” in 2010. Although the release was again well received, a hiatus followed during which SOLACE implemented some changes in their line-up. This maneuver got the heavy ship afloat again, and the remarkable full-length number four, “The Brink” made landfall in 2019. This album has been described as a glorious trek through churning riffage, weighty doom power and drunken sea shanties, while the massive use of NWOBHM dual-guitar attack was also gladly noted.

SOLACE call their amalgamation of doom and heavy metal with hardcore elements dirt metal, while elsewhere it has been somewhat tongue-in-cheekly dubbed shorecore. Others file the New Jersey five-piece under stoner metal – and in truth, all these descriptions fit to an extent.

SOLACE aim to release their upcoming fifth full-length via Magnetic Eye Records by the end of 2025.

P.S.: In January 2025, original SOLACE singer Jason L. sadly passed away, just as the band prepare to honour their classic debut album (and the first to feature Jason’s vocals) as an expanded new edition this summer. Raise a glass to his legacy and everything he brought to the band during his formative years as their tortured and brilliant frontman.

Exclusive Premiere for Finland: CAPTAIN BLACK BEARD ‘When It’s Over’ Official Video

The time is now. CAPTAIN BLACK BEARD is back, fully ready for a new album release, with a renewed lineup and a newfound energy in their disco-AOR. The digital single (and video) that tease the upcoming record is titled “When It’s Over” – and is the perfect way to show people that the Captain is back!

“We chose this one as the first single because it has everything”, the band comments about the song. “A memorable chorus, 80s saxophone vibe, a cool breakdown, great guitar solo, and lots of keyboards. Oh, and if the vocals aren’t impressive enough, Fredrik is also playing the saxophone on this one”, they say.

Join the premiering here:

Like their Swedish countrymen The Night Flight Orchestra, Captain Black Beard grew up with the classic sound of bands such as Journey and Foreigner but found a way to take a renewed approach to it and own the AOR sound in such a bossy way that it draws the attention of a whole new generation of fans.

The development of the band sound over the last years and several albums and singles made the tag “disco AOR” stick to them, as a way to describe the incredible catchy and all-round composition and sound they achieved.

The ultimate expression of this “disco AOR” sound was, until now, the last Captain Black Beard album, “Neon Sunrise”, released in the Fall of 2022 via Mighty Music. Groovy drums, melodic guitars, lots of keyboards and melodic vocals to top it off and make your love for AOR – old or new – boil once again in your blood.

But now, with a revamped lineup, with includes new vocalist Fredrik Vahldren, the four-piece are ready to go even further… Are you ready for a joyride of melodic rock with a special Swedish touch?

Lineup:
Robert Majd – bass
Fredrik Vahlgren – vocals
Daniel Krakowski – guitar
Vinnie Strömberg – drums

TEMPERANCE Deliver Symphonic Passion on New Live Album “From Hermitage To Europe”, Out March 14th

Italian masters of modern melodic metal TEMPERANCE have spellbound their symphonic magic into a thrilling live album, From Hermitage To Europe, out March 14, 2025 via Napalm Records! Captured during the band’s latest extended tour supporting their album Hermitage – Daruma’s Eyes Pt. 2 (2023), the new live recording brings the magical village of Hermitage and fan favorites to life!

Now featured for the first time in live recording form, this story was first explored on the aforementioned full-length studio album, which has since also been released in its orchestral version, featuring many renowned guests such as Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie) and Laura Fella (Faun).

Known for their vocal harmonies, the first single, “Daruma”, is a gift to symphonic lovers, where melodic guitar passages collide with a galloping drum beat. TEMPERANCE’s Michele Guaitoli takes us into their magical world, while his vocal comrade-in-arms Kristin Starkey heats up the tension with her dark timbre. This live recording serves as the perfect prelude to their highly anticipated 2025 European tour, with melodic death metal giants Ignea and symphonic powerhouse Induction.

Marco Pastorino on “Daruma”:
“It’s been years since our only live release, and the time has come to publish material with our current lineup. For the first time, you’ll be able to listen to some of our most renowned tracks in their live versions – such as “Of Jupiter And Moons,” “Diamanti,” and “The Last Hope In A World Of Hopes,” while also including some of the most beloved songs from our latest album, Hermitage, after spending a year on the road supporting it.

For this reason, we have chosen to release ‘Daruma’ as the first single, marking the first track released with our Kristin Starkey.

We will celebrate the release of From Hermitage To Europe alongside our European headlining tour!”

Rousing guitar riffs, epic orchestrations and powerful vocal duets are a welcome gift for symphonic metal lovers, now captured for the afterworld. While “The Last Hope in a World of Hopes” combines gripping melodies and choral vocals, their stunning live performance can also be witnessed in “Darkness Is Just a Drawing” – fans will experience one of the band’s most magical compositions, shining with masterful vocal harmonies. The palpable energy on fan-favorites like “Diamanti” and “Of Jupiter And Moons“ showcase the band’s extraordinary musical atmosphere.

Michele Guaitoli about the album:
“The last years have been a rollercoaster of emotions. TEMPERANCE have grown on every level and have been traveling the world, having the honor of performing in Europe, the UK, the US and South America.

Those who follow us are well aware that from “Of Jupiter and Moons” to “Hermitage”, we’ve faced a relevant line-up change. We felt it was fundamental to let our listeners understand who TEMPERANCE is nowadays, as the arrival of Kristin during the EU tour as special guests for Tarja had a strong impact on the sound of the band, thanks to her unique (and outstanding) voice.

From Hermitage To Europe gives justice to what you are going to witness live in March during our headline run, and most importantly, sets in stone the essence of this new cycle of TEMPERANCE, which we want to be a cycle of rebirth.”

MAESTRICK Release New Video ‘Lunar Vortex’ Feat. Roy Khan

Brazilian progressive metallers Maestrick are thrilled to share their new single and accompanying video “Lunar Vortex”, featuring Roy Khan, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Listen to “Lunar Vortex” HERE

After the symphonic synthwave of “Ethereal” and the prog-meets-Tim Burton vibes of “Upside Down”, Maestrick is embracing modern metal in their new single “Lunar Vortex”. Influenced by artists like Architects, Caligula’s Horse and Skrillex, the track features downtuned riffs contrasting with electronic tones, clean and screamed vocals (a first for Maestrick), and brings a very special guest in Roy Khan (Conception, ex-Kamelot) in a beautiful duet with Fabio Caldeira. This is the first time Roy appears in a video that’s not of his own band.

Vocalist Fábio Caldeira comments: “Roy was a big influence on how I wrote the melodies for this song, so when the opportunity to have him in the album became a reality, we knew it would work very well. He delivered an emotional and energetic performance, both vocally and in the video. We couldn’t be happier with the result.”

“While I was in Brazil, last year, I hooked up with my friends from Maestrick to record “Lunar Vortex” with them. Wonderful people and awesome song. I hope everyone enjoys it!”, adds Roy Khan.

Founded in São José do Rio Preto/SP by three friends, Maestrick have been active since 2006 and bring in their sound elements of rock and progressive heavy metal, Brazilian regional music, world music and classical music.

The band have released two albums in Brazil, Europe, United States and Japan, and are recognized for drinking from different artistic aspects – cinema, plastic arts, visual arts and literature – for their compositions, which results in a unique and, according to specialized critics, innovative style.

Not surprisingly, Maestrick captivates movie fans, notably those of Tim Burton, George Méliès, Guillermo del Toro, and Christopher Nolan. In music, it attracts listeners of both modern rock/metal, such as Muse, and also of more niche styles within metal, such as Dream Theater, Haken, Jinjer, Spirit Box, and classics like Queen, Yes, and Gentle Giant.

Their songs address everyday complex themes of human nature. The album “Espresso Della Vita: Solare”, from 2018, was rated by BURRN!, one of the most respected music publications in the world, with a score of 86/100 – quite high for the publication’s standard. Solare’s success led to a tour of Europe with nine shows in Switzerland, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Line Up:
Fábio Caldeira – Lead Vocal/Piano, Synths and Orchestrations
Guilherme Carvalho – Guitars/Vocal
Renato “Montanha” Somera – Bass/Vocal
Heitor Matos – Drums and Percussion/Vocal
