Australia’s new force VALHALORE conquer the world with a unique blend of Melodic Death, Power, and Symphonic Metal, infused with epic folk influences! Today, the band announces their signing with ROAR (Grave Digger, Mystic Prophecy, Crematory a.o.) as well as the release of their upcoming new album, called „Beyond The Stars“, which will be out on April 11th, along with the reissue of their self-released debut album „Voyage To Eternity“.

January 15th will also see the release of their first new single „Horizon“.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be joining the ROAR family. We’re just six mates from Australia who love playing music together, and when we started this band we had no idea how far this music could take us. To be able to release our new album on an international label, and with this incredible team’s support, is a childhood dream come true. We’re deeply honoured to be representing the Australian heavy music community on an international level, and we can’t for this next epic chapter to unfold with ROAR!”

Starting January 17th, the band will support the Swedish heavy metal templars of HAMMERALL as a special guest on tour:

January 17th: MELBOURNE (AUS) – Northcote Theatre
January 18th: SYDNEY (AUS) – Manning Bar
January 19th: BRISBANE (AUS) – The Triffid

Established in 2013 by guitarist Anthony Willis and vocalist Lachlan Neate, VALHALORE swiftly became an unstoppable force in the Australian metal scene. Since their inaugural live performance in late 2015, the band’s unique blend of Melodic Death, Power, and Symphonic Metal, infused with folk influences, has resonated with audiences both domestically and abroad.

The year 2017 marked a pivotal moment for VALHALORE with the release of their debut album “Voyage Into Eternity”. The band celebrated this opus with a sold-out launch show in Brisbane and two successful national tours, “Voyage Across Australia” and “Viktoberfest”. Breaking international ground in 2018, VALHALORE toured Japan alongside world-renowned acts Ensiferum, Trollfest, and Wind Rose. Upon their return, the band showcased their versatility with the release of the acoustic EP “Solace & Solitude”, and their 2019 single “Legacy”. Between releases, VALHALORE continued to conquer Australian stages, touring with Kamelot and Trollfest in 2018, and Kalmah in 2019. Two European tours, including an eagerly-anticipated appearance at “Wacken Open Air” 2020, were regrettably cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, undeterred by the global turmoil and prevailing uncertainties, VALHALORE spent the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021 recording their second studio album. In November 2022 VALHALORE took their live show to new heights, performing sold-out shows across Australia with UK’s Alestorm and with Arch Enemy later in February 2023. In February 2024, the band hit the road with Germany’s Blind Guardian and will support HammerFall in early 2025 in Australia, while making final preparations for their long-awaited sophomore album “Beyond The Stars” to be released in April 2025, by their new label partner ROAR.

With each performance and release, VALHALORE continues to carve a unique path through the metal landscape, leaving an indelible mark on fans worldwide. The saga unfolds, and VALHALORE’s journey is poised to reach even greater heights in the years to come…

ADMIRE THE GRIM Release Third Single ‘No Limits’ from Upcoming Debut Album

Finnish melodic death metallers Admire the Grim will release their debut album ‘Resist’ via Inverse Records on January 31st 2025. The third single ‘No Limits’ is released today and it’s available on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/atg-nolimits

Band comments:

“While writing ‘No Limits’, it was clear that this is going to probably be the most difficult song of the album and also the most difficult song that we’ve ever written. Jani wrote some amazing riffs for this one and it turned out to be a crushing song. The over-the-limit feeling and aggressive playing clicked nicely with the lyrics. A 1000 km/h over the speed limit, the song turned out fucking crazy and full of all kinds of happenings with every single instrument. Makes us laugh that we rigged ourselves with a song that’s absolutely devastating to play live.”

Guitarist Jani Loikkanen comments:

“‘No Limits’ kind of accidentally ended up sounding a bit like a metalcore song. For a long time I told everyone in the band that this song doesn’t work and I actually wanted to leave it out from the album. Petri, our bassist, told me that this should actually be a single and we’re not going to drop a song this good. After we had recorded this song and I heard the first mixed version, I started to really like it and it turned out great! ‘No Limits’ is a crazy song full of energy. Absolutely relentless, no rest for nobody.”

HÅLLBAR is a band from Warsaw (Poland), founded in 2023, performing music that is a cross between black metal & melodic death metal with female scream with deathcore vibe.

In the fall of 2023, the band made its presence known on the Polish scene by releasing a premiere song with lyric video entitled “Nemesis“, which was met with an excellent feedback by metal music fans in Poland. Following up on the blow, in December they presented another single, “Face to the Ground“.

In the summer of 2024, the Warsowian group recorded tracks and vocals for their debut album at the Okrutnik Studio. Filip “Heinrich” Hałucha from Heinrich House Studio is responsible for the mix and mastering of the release, whose portfolio includes cooperation with bands such as Above Aurora, Azarath, Behemoth, Corruption, Deus Mortem and Three Eyes of the Void. The album’s graphic design was created by the duo Dariusz Barabaś from seeg design (The Materia, Metalowe Zwierzaki, UKĆ) and Bartosz Rybitwa (Metal Mine Festival).

Peruvian CHASKA Release Stunning Music Video ‘Winter Night Heights’, Edited by Tom Flynn

Peruvian metal band Chaska released a new music video ‘Winter Night Heights’ edited by Tom Flynn (Lamb Of God, Suffocation, I Prevail, Nile). The track is taken from ‘Rites of June’ EP which was released via Inverse Records.

The band comments:
“The music video for the song Winter Night Heights, besides the images of the band performing, features some images from the film La Luz en el Cerro (The Light on the Hill) provided by its director Ricardo Velarde and Caudal Films. This video was edited by Tom Flynn, who has worked with bands such as Lamb Of God, Suffocation, I Prevail, Buckcherry, Nile, As I Lay Dying, etc. Visually, we wanted to present a video with some dynamics and darkness, in addition to some elements such as mystery, cold and night, which surround the characters and landscapes.

Initially, Rites of June was only going to feature three songs, which are: Winter Night Heights, Sweet Lover and Imperio Caído. The first song was composed especially for the film La Luz en el Cerro (The Light on the Hill) (2016), and the other two songs appeared on the EP Chaska (2003). These three songs were totally re-recorded to be included on this new EP. Then, along the way, the idea of recording the song Possession (Bad English cover) arose, perhaps as a bonus track, since EPs usually include this type of material as surprises or gifts. Finally, to make the EP more solid, we decided to include the live session versions of the songs Nymph of the Lake and Bicolour Cannibalism, previously featured on the album Pururauca (2009). So, Rites of June represents, in some way, the different phases or stages of the band over time. We think this EP is a good introduction for people who don’t know us or have never heard us before.”

ECHOES OF THE EXTINCT Release First Single ‘Last Page’ from Upcoming Debut Album

Photographer: Mark Honkanen

Echoes of the Extinct from Jyväskylä, Finland kicks off with an aggressive death metal track that also has groovy riffs and a powerful chorus. Progressive elements shape the song further, leading into an extended mid section with dark, spoken parts that grow into an instrumental passage. A varied outro underlines the ultimate message: humanity’s selfish and ignorant choices have sown the seeds of ecological catastrophe and total annihilation. The extinction is of our own making.

“Last Page” is the first single from the Echoes of the Extinct’s debut album to be released later this year.
