Prepare for an unparalleled sonic experience as Finnish melodic death metal project MAGNADUR releases their highly anticipated new single, “Hunt for Desire”. This explosive track showcases Magnadur’s signature blend of heavy, intricate riffs and gripping, story-driven lyrics, further solidifying their place in the world of melodic death metal.
“Hunt for Desire” highlights the exceptional vocal prowess of frontman Tomis, whose distinct and powerful voice cuts through the chaos with precision and emotion. His vocal performance, raw yet controlled, delivers the song’s narrative with an intensity that resonates deeply with listeners. Accompanying Tomis’s vocals is a breathtaking guitar performance by Magnadur’s mystical guitarist, who brings the band’s sound to new heights with his technical mastery and atmospheric melodies.
Magnadur continues to evolve their artistic identity by fusing intense melodic death metal with lyrical storytelling, and “Hunt for Desire” is a perfect example of their growth and innovation. This song is set to captivate fans of the genre, offering a compelling combination of aggression and melody that lingers long after the final note.
Cast from deep within the mist of Bordeaux, France, The Great Old Ones weave the chilling tales of H.P. Lovecraft into otherworldly black metal. With four albums under their cloaks, the band are masters of the unknown, the unseen and the unconquerable.
“Unlike so many of their contemporaries in the current black metal scene, they morph the stale post-black aesthetic into something monumental and individualistic, a sound that re-imagines post-black metal through an uncommonly aggressive lens”, Angry Metal Guy wrote about their last collection of cosmic tales.
Now, five years after Cosmicism, The Great Old Ones are back with a new dark and mountainous album that blurs the line between fantastical wonder and horrifying dread. Kadath opens with its lead single and opening song “Me, The Dreamer”, a two-part epic that tosses and turns like an accursed bout of insomnia.

A name is whispered which chills the spine and quickens the pulse – THE GREAT OLD ONES. Like phantoms emerging from the fog, they have haunted the world of Lovecraftian Black Metal with their sonorous, foreboding melodies and eldritch tales. Descending once more into the abyss of H.P. Lovecraft’s enigmatic universe, they have unearthed their latest opus, Kadath – an album that promises to be a journey of both magnificent dreams and unspeakable horrors.
THE GREAT OLD ONES emerged in 2009 from the old parts of the ancient Aquitanian harbour city of Bordeaux, France, a city famed for its secrets and deep red wine. After releasing their first album, Al Azif, the reactions of critics and fans were unanimously positive.
The band followed up with their second full-length, Tekeli-li, which garnered even higher praise. As a result, THE GREAT OLD ONES played a show at the acclaimed Roadburn festival, opened for BEHEMOTH in their homeland, played at Hellfest, and supported label mates SHINING and DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT.
The third full length, EOD – A Tale of Dark Legacy, (2017) marked another big step in the band’s fast rising career. The five-piece took the road with the legendary GAAHLS WYRD and embarked on a successful European co-headline tour with AUÐN from Iceland. THE GREAT OLD ONES also appeared on the billing of respected festivals, such as Brutal Assault and Eindhoven Metal Meeting, in front of a gigantic crowd of cultists.
THE GREAT OLD ONES have been crafting sonic landscapes that echo with the cries of ancient, cosmic deities and the whispers of forgotten realms. Their discography masterfully showcasing the sheer power of atmosphere and narrative, and has guided listeners through the darkest corners of Lovecraft’s mythos, earning them a devoted following among both metal aficionados and acolytes of the macabre. With their unique blend of harrowing intensity and sombre beauty, they have captured the essence of the otherworldly, marrying it with the raw, blackened heart of metal.
Kadath marks a bold departure from the oceanic depths of the Cthulhu mythos, venturing instead into the Dreamlands. It is here that we follow the protagonist, Randolph Carter, as he seeks the fabled city that haunts his visions. The album resonates with his longing and determination, embodying the treacherous path he treads amidst the capricious gods and monstrous entities that dwell within this twilight realm. Through seven tracks, THE GREAT OLD ONES tortuously narrate Carter’s odyssey, transcending the boundaries of music to evoke a world where fantasy intertwines with terror.
Recorded under the vigilant eye of Francis Caste at Studio Sainte-Marthe, Paris, Kadath‘s production is nothing short of sorcerous. Each note and whispers are imbued with the power to transport the listener, offering an escape into an epic, immersive universe. Benjamin Guerry’s haunting vocals and guitars, alongside the mesmerizing contributions of Aurélien Edouard and Alexandre Rouleau on guitars, the deep resonance of Gregory Vouillat’s bass, and the relentless assault of Julian Deana’s drums, forge an album of unmatched emotional depth and technical prowess.
Thus, behold the latest chapter in their eldritch saga, Kadath – their unyielding quest to explore the outer margins of reality and imagination. An invitation to journey beyond the familiar, into a world of cosmic dread and awe-inspiring beauty, where the ancient gods still roam and dreams bleed into reality.
UK death metal trio INGESTED today drops their new video for “A Path Once Lost.” The haunting track appears on the band’s critically lauded The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams full-length, released in April on Metal Blade Records.
Comments guitarist Sean Hynes, “This track delves into some deeply personal and uncomfortable topics, pushing the band beyond our usual boundaries both musically and emotionally. We ventured into territory we never expected to explore. Be sure to watch the video for ‘A Path Once Lost,’ where INGESTED reveals a more vulnerable side than ever before.”

Since their fifth album, 2020’s Where Only God May Tread, INGESTED has been on a creative tear that has produced almost a full record every year, each displaying the kind of musical growth that only comes from constantly practicing, playing, and writing. The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams is not only as innovative and brutal as their last disc – the bleak, firestorm Ashes Lie Still – it showcases a band willing to expand its creativity without sacrificing the ferocity that made it one of the most impressively destructive, technical death metal bands on the scene. Whether pummeling listeners with double-bass rolls, blast-beats, and grinding rhythm; breaking it all down with jagged, staggered riffs, and piercing harmonics; or flooding the mix with rapid-fire bursts of minor key melodies, INGESTED has injected all of their experience, skill, and artistry into ten trenchant new tracks.
Commended Rock Hard Germany, “The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams exhibits a considerable degree of musicality, which is expressed in sophisticated arrangements, sophisticated riffs, and strong clean vocals sprinkled in here and there…“ Blabbermouth concurred, “Simultaneously riotous and controlled, this is modern death metal at its smartest.” Added MetalSucks, “INGESTED proves over and over again that they can still surprise us. When they started out in 2006, they surprised everyone with their ability to hang with more established US deathcore bands and even outdo them. Now they prove that they can take that sound and be more than heavy, loud, and shocking as they dig deep and get artistic.”
The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams was produced by the band with the guidance of recording engineer Nico Beninato. The record includes a guest appearance by Chimaira‘s Mark Hunter who provides vocals for the track “In Nothingness“ and Sylosis singer Josh Middleton who contributes to “Expect To Fail,” as well as the striking cover art of David Seidman.

An exciting collaboration is on the horizon: Floor Jansen, the acclaimed lead singer of Nightwish, will be appearing as a guest vocalist on Testament’s soon-to-be-released album. Testament‘s vocalist Chuck Billy revealed this in an interview with Paul Saifen from AMFM Magazine.
“On this record, I don’t wanna say the word ‘ballad’, but we wrote a slower song like we had back in the ’80s and ’90s that we wrote on this record. And it’s really awesome, really good. We’re gonna bring in a guest vocalist, Floor Jansen from Nightwish. She’s gonna sing on it with me. And we’re gonna put in some string section into the song.” said Billy.
He added:“We’re not afraid to take those chances where a lot of bands criticize you, like, ‘Oh, we don’t write ballads. ‘What are you doing that [for]?’ But you know what? At this point in our lives and career, we’re writing to make us happy first and foremost and what feels good, what feels right, and this song just felt right right now to kind of do this again.”
Recording Process In Full Swing
As for the recording process, the band is almost finished. Testament will return to the studio in November to complete the final touches.
“We’re almost done recording right now. We finished, I’d say, three quarters of the recording before we left for Europe. And we have a three-week break now. And Steve’s in the studio finishing bass and Eric’s finishing up some of the rhythm guitars, but out of the 11 songs, I already tracked eight of ’em. So I just have a couple more songs to sing.” Billy explained.
He emphasized: “We have another break after this U.S. tour in November. We’ll finish up all the backing vocals and anything that needs to be — after getting to live with it, which is something nice. We never really get to live with the music after recording. It’s recorded. Here it is. Let’s go. It’s done, written in stone. Which is nice, is now we really get to live with it out on the road and talk about it together and say, ‘Hey, what if we did this or what if we tried that?’ And we’ve already came up with so much alternative stuff to try now. Like this week, Friday, I go in and I’m gonna try some new things on some vocal verses. We’re talking about tones of guitars and bringing in some string sections.”

German Teutonic thrash metal trio WARFIELD are ready to start a new chapter and walk right into battle with Napalm Records in alliance. With their decade-long dedication to their idols, Tom Angelripper, Jeff Hanneman and Dave Lombardo, the three know how to play tight with brutal shredding riffs and rapid speed beats. Today, WARFIELD is pleased to announce that they’ve signed a worldwide contract with the premier rock and metal label!
In early 2012, the band introduced their own thrash tornado to the scene. The speed and anger from German genre-heroes like Sodom and Kreator mesmerized the band from day one – and now it’s time to pay tribute. In 2016 and 2017, WARFIELD played many shows alongside both recognized and rising bands at Taunus Metal Meeting, such as Iron Kobra, Warrant and Evil Invaders, as well as Metallergrillen with Tankard and Bay Area thrash legends Exodus. In 2018, the trio released their debut album, Wrecking Command, with ten skull-crushing songs.
Call your chiropractor – WARFIELD has arrived with breakneck force!
WARFIELD state about signing with Napalm Records: “This is happening! We are more than proud to announce that Warfield has officially signed with Napalm Records. After over a decade of pouring our souls into this band, this is very special to us. We also want to take this opportunity to genuinely thank all the people who supported us along the way. We can’t wait to let you all know what we have in store for you. Are you ready for this?”
Senior A&R Sebastian Münch says about WARFIELD: “Warfield creates the same feelings you get when you listen to Kreator, Sodom or Destruction for the very first time! Warfield are lethal, authentic and surprisingly fresh! We are incredibly proud to join forces with Warfield from the metal stronghold Kaiserslautern!”
