Iconic hard rock act D-A-D celebrates the release of their critically-acclaimed, thirteenth studio album, entitled ’Speed Of Darkness’, via AFM Records. To order your copy of this must-have gem, one that belongs into every well-sorted hard rock record collection, visit: https://dad.bfan.link/speed-of-darkness

“Just in time for their 40th anniversary, the 13th studio album, “Speed Of Darkness”, is being released, and it doesn’t really need many spins to convince across the board. Hardly anyone knows as much as the Danes, how to whip up catchy melodies seemingly effortlessly and actually write an album without any filler, but full of hits!” – ROCK HARD (GER)

“D-A-D has delivered again – as they always do!” – NORWAY ROCK MAGAZINE

“Album number 13 is a 14-track masterclass without a weak moment in sight. Danish legends D-A-D have recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and as new album “Speed of Darkness” proves, they sound as fresh as ever- in fact, all new bands should be handed a copy of this album and told this is what 40 sounds like!” – GET READY TO ROCK (UK)

Earlier this year, D-A-D turned 40 years and even got their own museum exhibition. But this is by no means the end of everything. The quartet is brimming with energy, and they have written 40 songs since their last album, “A Prayer for the Loud”, that was released in 2019. Out of these songs, the band has selected 14 of the best ones for their new double album ’Speed Of Darkness’. Many bands never get to stick together and celebrate their 40-year anniversary without any breaks, but the fact this is currently happening to one of Denmark’s best and most popular rock band, with an even greater audience beyond the country’s borders, is remarkable. It’s in fact more than that, according to bassist Stig Pedersen: ”Turning 40 as a band is in and of itself totally crazy. We are a social experiment!”, he states.

While this year started with a trip back in time for D-A-D, now, they look into the future with their brand new studio offering, without a doubt a remarkably strong collection of songs. Some would call this a clear understatement; the four band members have not been in so much agreement about the quality of new songs for an album in many years as they are today. As Jesper Binzer says: ”I am totally stoked about this new collection of songs – I can’t wait for the fans to hear this album. It is so much D-A-D – and so much better!”

Drummer Laust Sonne agrees: “I think that we have taken a collective step up, on many parameters, with “Speed of Darkness”: We have never played better than we do on this album. Our songwriting is on top notch, and this collection of songs is our strongest in many years. Sound- and production-wise, we have cared deeply for every little detail. It has both power and finesse. All of this makes us sleep soundly at night and just look forward to presenting “Speed Of Darkness” in its entirety to all of our fans.”

Speed Of Darkness’ was produced with Nick Foss and was mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Powerwolf). Jacob Binzer adds: ”Although you can’t really judge albums before one to two years after their release, I think that this is a strong pool. Some of these songs have surprised me positively while we recorded them, and that is very promising.”

Jesper Binzer agrees with his brother: ”For the first time in three to four albums, I am totally excited about our material, and I was looking forward to go into the studio every single day. We have an excess of both songs and ideas, and this is a place that I have wanted to reach with the last three to four D-A-D albums. It’s crazy how things are circular that way. I thought that everything was done, and I thought that we were just old guys who were doing whatever we could, but a new necessity has arisen.”

After a major festival summer run with 24 concerts, D-A-D will soon embark on a tour with numerous shows in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Switzerland, as well as a completely sold-out show in Royal Arena in Denmark on November 1. Find all upcoming D-A-D concerts listed below! And if you want even more D-A-D, the National Museum, Copenhagen exhibit will run all the way to late October.

With “Togetherness,” Harris creates a rich musical experience where catchy melodies meet powerful rock energy. His guitar playing is captivating, as his skillful fingers move smoothly across the strings, delivering tunes that resonate and linger long after the track ends. This second single gives listeners a taste of the emotion and depth they can expect from his upcoming debut album.

This Edmonton-based artist poured his heart and soul into “Parallel Heart,” crafting every note from his home studio. The album’s instrumental focus stems from Jon’s wife’s unwavering support and inspiration, a testament to their incredible bond. Jon’s mastery extends beyond songwriting and recording; he combined the entire album to solidify his position as a complete musical force. The sole exception? Jon’s son, Gabriel, lends his drumming talents to the track “Mehnoynoy” and even collaborates on new tunes for the next album.

While instrumental, “Parallel Heart” pulsates with meaning. The song titles and melodies weave a narrative about navigating relationships and juggling the demands of a busy life. Each track takes you on a captivating journey, from the 80s synth-pop vibes of “97BPM” to the hard-hitting intensity of “Togetherness,” “Wasted Entertainment,” and the album’s title track.

The single is available on all streaming platforms HERE. Watch the art track video HERE.

“I’ve always loved how intense and theatrical this song is,” Fish shares. “It gave me the perfect opportunity to dig into the darker, more haunting side of my sound.”

Following this release, Fish embarks on a European tour across the UK, Germany, and Holland, further showcasing her mastery of live performances. Fish has just wrapped up the Experience Hendrix Tour, where she shared the stage with blues legends like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. In November, she will headline the Ruf Records 30th Anniversary Tour, celebrating the label’s pivotal role in shaping modern blues.

“I Put A Spell on You” comes hot on the heels of Fish’s recent three-song EP, which featured reimagined versions of fan favourites “Faster,” “Crowd Control,” and “Better Be Lonely.” While studio work allows her to reinvent herself, Fish insists, “the stage is where the real magic happens. I connect with the audience in a way that transforms the music into something alive.”

European Tour Begins October 4th
Fish’s much-anticipated European tour kicks off in Birmingham, UK, on October 4th, making stops in iconic venues across the UK, Germany, and Holland. This follows a packed year of performances, including her participation in the Experience Hendrix tour, where she paid homage to the legendary Jimi Hendrix alongside some of the most celebrated guitarists in the industry.

Ruf Records 30th Anniversary Tour
In November, Fish will take center stage for the Ruf Records 30th Anniversary Tour, beginning November 7th in Pittsburgh. Joining her on the tour will be blues icons Canned Heat, Mitch Ryder, Bernard Allison, and Ghalia Volt, among others. The tour is a celebration of the label’s rich legacy and its future, with Fish at the forefront of modern blues music. “It’s an honor to be part of this incredible lineup and to continue pushing the boundaries of the genre,” says Fish.

Critical Acclaim for Samantha Fish
Fish has garnered widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. Guitar World praises her as “one of the most promising young blues performers,” while No Depression highlights her genre-blending abilities, describing her as an artist who can “take you on a journey through country, blow your blues away, or slam you with some raucous rock.” Garden & Gun calls her “one of the new guitar greats,” a sentiment echoed by Guitarist Magazine, which declares, “Samantha Fish is a force to be reckoned with.”

WE KILL COWBOYS Unveil Commanding New Single ‘Android’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 6, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: WE KILL COWBOYS. Leave a comment

High-voltage rockers We Kill Cowboys are back with a brand new single, a track that offers a thrilling taste of what fans can expect from their highly anticipated upcoming EP Back From The Dead, set for release in early 2025 via Mongrel Records. Known for their intense blend of psychedelic rock, punk, grunge, and stoner blues, the Cape Town-based quartet is ready to disrupt the music scene once again.

Fronted by Alex Muller, tattoo artist and singer-songwriter, We Kill Cowboys have carved out a distinctive place in the South African rock landscape with their gritty, anti-establishment sound and high-energy live performances. Muller’s compelling vocals bring deeply emotional and thought-provoking narratives to life, and this new single is no exception.

Inspired by Alex’s fascination with science fiction, the track explores the complex intersection of consciousness and identity. “I love Sci-Fi. I’m fascinated by the idea of androids and AI and how that would shift the world as we know it. There’s something about that confusion between robot vs. human that resonates deeply with how women have felt for centuries,” says the vocalist. The single dives into themes of societal expectations placed on women and the ways they have been marginalized, subjugated, and misunderstood throughout history.

“The song speaks about the expectations society puts onto women,” She continues. “How we are expected to play a certain role, how women can be subjectified, abused, and used in a magnitude of ways. We’ve been labelled as witches or diagnosed with hysteria… what are we? Where do we belong? Are we not all human beings? That’s the underlying message.”

Buy and Stream the single at https://orcd.co/android

The single features the band’s signature sound, with Mornay’s searing guitar riffs, Andrew’s thunderous drumming, and Miggs’ fuzzy bass grooves adding depth and intensity to the message. Describing the track, Muller says, “It’s hard, energetic, thought-provoking, anthemic, and full of groove.”

The band’s writing process remains collaborative, with the initial spark starting at home. “I write at home on my acoustic. I bring the basic vibe to the band, and we finish it together. That’s generally how our writing process works,” Explains Alex.

We Kill Cowboys are known for their electrifying live shows, and fans can expect the new single to be a central part of their upcoming performances. With a reputation for leaving audiences both exhilarated and reflective, this latest track promises to deliver an experience that will resonate deeply and linger long after the final note.

RÜCKWATER’s New Album “Bored Machine” Explores + Criticizes Society And World Around Us

Finnish Tampere-based alternative stoner rock band Rückwater released their second studio album Bored Machine on October 4th 2024.

LISTEN to the Bored Machine album on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/ruckwater-bored

The band comments:
“Musically, Bored Machine is a more progressive work than its predecessor (Supernova). The songs have been written with a deliberate risk-taking approach and an attempt to diversify the song structures. All the material was recorded live, as on the previous album, capturing the band’s strong chemistry and groove.

Bored Machine is a strongly thematic work that explores and partly criticises society and the world around us. Follow the Money is about social media influencers who have power because of their large number of followers, but who do not take responsibility for their actions/words. Mental health issues are addressed in several pieces, for example, Look at the Sky, Blue Lake Escape and Waiting for the Ride. Homo Economicus is about human greed, while No More Air is about dictators and authority. N.O.T.S.Y. is about forgiveness and Birthday Boy is a birthday rally.”

Track list:
1 N.O.T.S.Y.
2 Birthday Boy
3 No More Air
4 Homo Economicus
5 Follow The Money
6 Look At The Sky
7 Blue Lake Escape
8 Waiting For The Ride
