CLOAK to Release New Full-Length Album “Above, Below, & Through” on February 12th, New Video/Single ‘Nigredo – Initium’ Out Now

A season of change, hibernation, and inspiration fueled CLOAK in creating Above, Below, & Through, the quartet’s debut album for Metal Blade and their fourth overall, set for release on February 12th, 2027.

“Above, Below, & Through takes everything that was great about our last LP, Black Flame Eternal, and amplifies it completely, while still standing as an album of its own,” the band confirms.

CLOAK, based in Atlanta, Georgia since forming in 2013, made a conscious decision to give their new record a thematic and conceptual vibe, with lyrics and themes around liminality and duality ultimately spawning a fully realized opus.

On Above, Below, & Through founding members, vocalist/guitarist Scott Taysom and guitarist Max Brigham, are now joined by drummer Matt Morris and bassist Rafay Nabeel. Sonically, the offering is the band’s most lush and massive-sounding record to date. The drums are huge but not processed sounding, the bass rumbles, and the guitar tones are full of attack and focus. Listeners will notice a big difference between this production and CLOAK‘s previous records.

As the songs on the record were being composed, themes began to emerge. “The main concepts of the songs were dealing with pathways between life and death, realms between dream and consciousness, shifts between beast and man, and the juxtaposition of shadow and light as spiritual guides,” explains Taysom. “The album title’s meaning became clear, as something both all-encompassing and complete, but also something liminal and transitional. This is represented in both the songs and the band itself at the time of writing the album.”

Lead single “Nigredo – Initium” was the first song CLOAK worked on as a new lineup. Taysom’s lyrics are a direct result of the way the music sounds, and the inspiration the song gives off.

The band further elaborates, “A tale of being marked from the beginning. ‘Nigredo – Initium’ was the first song we started working on as a new lineup, which is very fitting considering the translated title. It is the initial door that opens to the world that is Above, Below, & Through, and the start of a new dark age.”

Above, Below, & Through was recorded with producer Alex Parra and drum engineer John Douglass, and comes swathed in the striking cover art of Jordan Barlow.

German extreme metal band Aegror have released the lyric video for “Rapist of Minds”, a track taken from their acclaimed album Reign of Disease.

Rooted in Aegror’s long-running Plaguebreeder Universe, “Rapist of Minds” explores psychological manipulation and the destruction of free will. Through torture and experimentation, a ruthless figure turns broken minds into obedient puppets, building an army for a greater force. As his plans unfold, the track reveals how the abuse of control can ultimately consume the one who wields it.

Rooted in Aegror’s Plaguebreeder Universe, Reign of Disease follows an interdimensional entity whose influence spreads through disease, fear, and psychological decay — exploring how control, paranoia, and systemic collapse corrupt both mind and body.

Musically, the album pushes Aegror beyond conventional extreme metal: relentless aggression meets haunting melody, progressive songwriting, and atmospheric depth. The internationally known, multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter and producer will drop “Re-Vamp”, her 20th album worldwide via Metalville.

SERAINA TELLI releases her new single and video ‘Chameleon’.

There are people who seem to know exactly who they are. And then there are the others. Those who are trying things out. Who ruffle feathers. Who switch roles. Who constantly reinvent themselves, and are somehow restless.

SERAINA TELLI knows this feeling.

Her new single, “Chameleon” tells the story of trying to live up to other people’s expectations and, in the process, eventually losing touch with oneself. A theme that could hardly be more personal. Because before you learn to be true to yourself, you often try the opposite first. 

“I changed myself a thousand times. Didn’t know how to be mine.”

The song begins where self-doubt arises: with the question of who one is actually supposed to be; with the constant adapting, pretending and comparing. But “Chameleon” turns this perspective on its head: what if it’s perfectly fine to change your colour?

Musically, Seraina Telli blends the song’s vulnerable mood with her unmistakable mix of rock and glam-pop, catchy melodies and emotional directness. The song evolves from a reflective stock-taking into a liberating statement with the kind of conviction that comes from finally listening to your own voice. 

Ever since her chart-topping albums “Simple Talk”, “Addicted To Colour” and “GREEN”, Seraina Telli has repeatedly explored themes such as self-determination, courage and personal freedom. With “Chameleon”, she continues this thread – this time with a declaration of love to all those who aren’t just one colour. To all those who are searching, changing, growing, rediscovering themselves and perhaps finding their home precisely in that process.

Former HADES/Current PATRIARCHS IN BLACK Songwriter DAN LORENZO Hosts on Ozzy’s Boneyard

The founding member of HADES and NON-FICTION Dan Lorenzo hosted Ultimate Sinner yesterday, on November 2nd on Ozzy’s Boneyard on Sirius/XM.

Lorenzo who is now in the project PATRIARCHS IN BLACK with former TYPE O NEGATIVE and current QUIET RIOT drummer Johnny Kelly spun songs and talked about some of his favorite bands including AC/DC, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath and Kiss.

Patriarchs In Black are set to release their 6th album in 5 years on January 8th 2027 on Germany’s MetalVille Records.

“My wife and I just got home from an amazing trip to Denver and Aspen Colorado and one of the few things I love as much as traveling is having the opportunity to pick some of my favorite songs and gab a bit about my favorite bands. I’ll be 64 in January and still feel like a kid on Christmas morning getting on Ozzy’s Boneyard. Plus this Thursday November 5th Patriarchs In Black release our 2nd single Spoiler Alert from our 6th album. I would never have imagined life being this great at 63 when it feels like not that long ago my old band NON-FICTION once ended a tour in Denver and we had no money for a hotel and drove home 36 hours to NJ without a hotel. No tour bus, just a van. That was 1992. Life DOES get better!”

JAMES KENNEDY AND THE UNDERDOGS to Release New Album “Rebel” on 30th November

South Wales hard-rockers James Kennedy and The Underdogs will release their brand new album ‘Rebel’ on November 30th through Konic Records. It follows their powerful debut album ‘Make Anger Great Again’ and includes the singles ‘Us and Them’, ‘Shadows’, ‘Kill the Machines’ and ‘Revolution’ which features guest vocals from Skindred’s Benji Webbe.

Much like the bands’ live shows, the album is a high energy, punky, rip-roaring rebellious rally against the state of the world right now with abrasive riffs, street chants, pounding drums and songs about pirates, police, billionaires and psychopaths.

Singer James Kennedy says that the whole album was inspired by the writings of the famous French writer and existentialist thinker, Albert Camus. “I’m a huge Camus nerd and his philosophy of rebellion both politically and against the absurdity of the human condition speaks to me on every level. Mixing the message of a high-culture figure like Camus with the gritty urgency of punk rock makes me happy”

The literary interest makes sense as Kennedy is also a 2x published author, including his #1 best selling autobiography ‘Noise Damage’ which Sirius XM host Eric Alper described as “easily one of the greatest books ever written about music and being in a band”.

Musically, ‘Rebel’ takes the hard rock swagger of its predecessor and dials it up another ten notches. It’s faster, more urgent and rougher around the edges. Guitarist Jack Davies adds: “It was recorded the old-school way. Battered guitar pedals scattered everywhere, straight into an old beaten up amp, gear you can actually get your hands on, two takes and onto the next. No scrolling through digital menus and absolutely NO AI”

The album was mixed and mastered by long time Kennedy collaborator, Jeff Rose who has also worked with Bullet for My Valentine and Kennedy’s former band, Kyshera.

James Kennedy and The Underdogs are an alternative rock / punk band from Newport, South Wales, formed in 2023 by singer, author, podcaster and former Kyshera frontman, James Kennedy. The band includes Jack Davies on guitar, Elliot Blake on bass, and Aggy Nowicka on drums, all former and current members of the bands Kane’d, Catalysts, and Ravenbreed.
