Quebec-based melodic symphonic metallers TROLLWAR are gearing up to release their fifth record “Tales from the Frozen Wastes” on November 15, 2024. The band is excited to reveal the stunning album artwork and tracklisting, along with offering fans a glimpse into the dark and epic world they’ve created with a new album teaser. They share their thoughts on the recording:

“We think our album could really be described as a renewal. A renewal of our music and a new maturity for our music. We do think that you can hear it through our songs in this release. “The Unseen One” and “In the Fields of Frost” are both great songs that we wrote a couple of years ago, while “Bane of the Underworld” and “The Offering” are pretty much the new Trollwar that you should expect going forward. These two songs show a clear upgrade of how we write our music.”

“Tales from the Frozen Wastes” promises to be Trollwar’s most complex and complete release to date, showcasing the band’s evolution towards a more melodic and symphonic sound while incorporating progressive elements. The EP features five tracks, including a prologue, that will transport listeners into a darker dimension ruled by shadows and supreme deities.

The EP artwork, unveiled today, depicts a desolate landscape ruled by a higher force, where darkness looms over all. This visual representation perfectly captures the essence of Trollwar’s music – epic and hopeful, yet dark and malicious. It is recommended for fans of Wintersun, Ensiferum, and Amon Amarth.

Swedish melodic death metal legends SOILWORK are back with a brandnew single, ‘Spirit of No Return,’ along with a powerful and visually striking music video. The track marks a significant milestone in the band’s evolution, with longtime live guitarist Simon Johansson recently officially joining the ranks of the band.

‘Spirit of No Return’ showcases SOILWORK’s signature blend of frenzied intensity, soaring melodies, epic arrangements, and a touch of progressive complexity – traits that have cemented their reputation over the last decades. Johansson’s contribution to the song’s writing channels the band’s essence while bringing fresh energy to their unmistakable sound.

The video is equally captivating, featuring a stunning sequence where the iconic SOILWORK symbol is reforged, representing the band’s resurgence and renewed strength. This visual narrative perfectly complements the song’s theme of perseverance and transformation.

Frontman Björn “Speed” Strid comments on the song: “ ‘Spirit Of No Return’ is a fierce reminder of the past, but also an introduction of the new SOILWORK era, where we’ve taken the thrashier early days and dressed it in a new heavier suit. TURMION KÄTILÖT Release New Single And Video ‘Pulssi’

TURMION KÄTILÖT release today their second single ‘Pulssi’ featuring Kasperi Heikkinen from BEAST IN BLACK. The single coincides with the publication of the bands first autobiography ‘En tahdo unohtaa koskaan’ (‘I never want to forget’). The new album RESET will be released on October 25th via Nuclear Blast Records.

MC Raaka Pee comments about ‘Pulssi‘: You know you’re living when you feel your pulse up to your gums. The song arrangement and lyrics were born in one evening without any pre-planning or notes. That night the moon burned my face. This time, the song was kept really simple. I wanted to include a riff that I would have been able to play as a 14 year old. Sort of like Smoke On The Water for many youngsters at the time when they first tried playing the guitar. For me that was the 90s and you can hear that kind of middle school riffing in Pulssi. Works damn well I think! Give it a try yourself!

He continues about Reset: “I would say that Reset is like a bastard son or daughter of previous records – with tasty new spices added to the whole thing. It has everything you could ever want from us and more. One of the special twist of this album is the vocal parts: the fierce screams are counterbalanced by a huge melodiousness – often at the same time.”

In celebration of the 45th anniversary of their groundbreaking album “Wheels of Steel” (1980), the British metal legends SAXON will perform the album in its entirety live on stage! However, the “Hell, Fire, and Steel” European tour in 2025 promises not only classics but also songs from their new album “Hell Fire and Damnation”. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the best of Saxon live on stage.
