Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed, sold-out summer headline tour, Bush is set to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album Sixteen Stone with a special vinyl reissue. This milestone release marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership with Craft Recordings, a label renowned for its dedication to preserving and amplifying iconic music. The multi-Platinum LP, a cornerstone of the ’90s post-grunge era, is set to arrive on November 22nd and is available for pre-order today.

Alongside a wide release, fans can get their hands on six limited-edition colored pressings: “Opaque Red” (available wide), “Silver” (exclusive to Independent Record Stores), “Translucent Lemonade” (via Best Buy), “Sepia” (via Barnes & Noble) and “Highlighter Smoke” (available at Revolver), plus a “Fog” pressing exclusive to the band’s Spotify followers via Fans First.

Released on December 6th, 1994, Sixteen Stone propelled Bush into the international spotlight, selling millions of copies in the US—the album recently certified 7X Platinum by the RIAA—and producing a string of hit singles. With its blend of heavy guitar riffs and introspective lyrics, the album helped define the alternative-rock sound of the ’90s, cementing Bush as one of the era’s most successful bands.

Upon release, Sixteen Stone debuted at No.4 on the Billboard 200, staying on the chart for more than 70 weeks. The album’s runaway success was driven by its singles, including the chart-topping hits “Glycerine” and “Comedown,” both of which exploded at radio peaking at No.1 in Billboard’s Alternative Airplay charts and No.1 in the Modern Rock Tracks chart. Other fan-favorites on the album include “Machinehead,” “Everything Zen” and “Little Things.” The enduring popularity of these tracks has kept the album resonance for new generations of listeners, while its influence on modern rock remains undeniable.

The album’s sound was shaped at Westway Studios in London, where the band worked with producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, a duo whose production credits include Madness, Morrissey and Elvis Costello. The result was a record that seamlessly blended grunge and hard rock with Britpop sensibilities, creating a unique sound that resonated with fans around the world.

Reflecting on the album’s legacy in an interview with Heavy Consequence, frontman Gavin Rossdale shared, “I think there’s something to be said about the truth of these songs — the way they resonate with people, what they do for people. That’s the beauty of it. And I think the power of it.”

The Sixteen Stone 30th anniversary reissue follows the band’s extensive Greatest Hits tour, celebrating their decades-long career and coinciding with the release of their Greatest Hits compilation. In addition, Bush recently unveiled the Loads of Remixes EP, a seven-track collection that reimagines some of their most iconic songs, offering fans a fresh take on their classic hits. In We Fall are a compelling Alternative Metal band from Vila Real, Portugal. The band is known for creating a distinct and exotic sound bursting with flavors of Alternative Metal, Progressive Metal, and Grunge. The band just premiered a new lyric video entitled “Silent War” which is the first single & video taken from their upcoming full-length album Inner Self which will be released on December 13, 2024 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Daniel Moreira at EvoluiSom Studios. The lyric video for “Silent War” was directed by Pedro Daniel at Phobos Anomaly Design.

“We decided to make a video of this song because it is a current theme, as well as being the first song made by the band”, says lead vocalist & guitarist Daniel Moreira. “This song pays tribute to fallen souls of all global conflicts. The lyric video is completely allusive to the lyrics, talking about what it’s like to be someone who is involved in a war scenario. The idea was to represent the current war between Russia and Ukraine, but it is a generality for any war scenario, so it is like a compliment to each of the soldiers. The work done together with Pedro Daniel from Phobos Anomaly Design made it possible to put into images what we intended to convey with the lyrics and the music!”.

In We Fall’s debut album titled Inner Self, is a concept record and the songs are magnificent fireworks displays bursting with stories that speak to the horrors of war, the shock of betrayal, the risk of blind trust, and the tragedy of putting our fists against the world. Behind black shrouds of obscurity and desolation, the performers of GAEREA deliver their odes in cascading maelstroms of aggression and beauty. Emerging from the age of pandemic to whatever awaits humanity next, the dark horde remains on the frontlines of the next generation of extreme metal. With an EP and three albums to their name, Gaerea has rapidly distinguished themselves from the thousands of bands toiling away in the underground. Brewing their cauldron of sound from a recipe of pounding black-metal blast mixed with a touch of harrowed, reflective longing, many devotees of the darkened arts have flocked to their banner. With the emergence of third full-length album Mirage, those numbers certainly grew.

Gaerea met a challenge when releasing their second album during the pandemic, the aptly titled Limbo, to excellent world reception. In the meantime, they found the total suspension of interactive life as it was previously known to be the perfect breeding ground for further creation and making.

Sizzling with ambition from day one, Gaerea may present one unique face to their audience, masked and enshrouded, but the truth is they have not remained changeless.

As their previous album name Mirage suggests, the inability to trust what our senses are telling us could be construed as one of the album’s central themes. Rather than constrict their art to mythological references or anti-religious tropes, Gaerea instead plumb the depths of the human experiences of isolation and suffering.

Just two years since Mirage was released, Gaerea is here, erupting with intensity, casting forth black ashes over the world yet again.
 
Their latest release, Coma, has finally surfaced, marking a pivotal shift. From this point forward, everything changes. It’s time for Gaerea to bridge the gap between underground metal and the elevated realm they’ve attained. With Coma, Gaerea emerges from the underground scene, ascending towards a permanently lasting position at the head of the table.

An emotional gateway to a dark black metal scene, a guide to salvation, pain, despair and letting go. Moving up, into the blackness that is above. Gaerea is the answer, the only answer.

Within ‘Coma’s’ ten tracks lies an individual narrative, each with its own tale to unveil. Collectively, they blend nuances of aggression, tranquility, solitude, and fervor.

Months of hand drawing the image with a ballpen lead to this masterpiece which dipped his name into ‘Coma’.

ASSASSIN Unleash Video for Title Track of Upcoming EP “Skullblast”

To delight longtime fans and new listeners, German-based thrash metal act ASSASSIN presents their first EP in the band’s history! “Skullblast” will be coming out on November 1, 2024 through Massacre Records. For the first time ever, all band members collaborated on the five songs featured on “Skullblast”, which contributed to a very creative and positive workflow. With pride and joy, the band will now unleash an EP of hard-hitting thrash metal songs that are bursting with heaviness and groove, hook lines with a high recognition value – brutal and groovy at the same time, but also rich in variety – while staying true to the band’s style. Also new musical elements, such as gang shouts or longer solos, have found their way onto the EP which captivates with a straightforward sound. The hint “This record was made to be played at maximum volume” on the EP’s artwork is meant to be no joke…

The band comments about the song: “The title track simply thrashes the listener away 80’s style and you can hear Steve, who joined the band a while ago, for the first time over three parts in the solo lick and extended solo. The bass and drums complement the song in terms of heaviness and structure, and in one part of the solo you can only hear drums accompanying the guitar solo. With this element, ASSASSIN bring the joy of playing and lightness to the listener, and you can see how small changes in a song can give the listener something new and exciting.

The vocals are powerful, and the chorus is catchy, so that all fans will surely be swept away by the band at future live shows. Lyrically, it’s about a dystopian war scene and this part of the second verse speaks for itself: “…rolling terror strikes at midnight, machine gun fire sound”.”

For the first time, the band worked with Lucky Bob Studios and Jean Bormann (Rage) for the recordings. The enjoyable and inspiring atmosphere in the studio contributed to the fact that the songs were developed further at one point or another, while adding further punch to them. In terms of heaviness, the mastering by Manu Cohnen (Parabol Audio) added even more intensity to the EP. Also, Patrick Pagliaro contributed guest vocals to the songs “Blood For Blood” and “Cut Your (Own) Throat”. The idea for the cover art was born during the songwriting process for the title track “Skullblast” and was beautifully executed by Karim König and Plamen.
