Stu Marshall, a renowned Australian guitarist and producer, is best known for his explosive guitar work, blending technical prowess with melodic sensibility. Rising to prominence with the power metal band Dungeon and more recently US power supergroup Death Dealer, Marshall’s career has spanned decades, marking him as one of Australia’s most respected metal musicians.
In 2008, Marshall embarked on his solo project, Empires Of Eden, creating a platform to collaborate with some of the biggest names in metal. The project brought together an array of world-class vocalists, allowing Marshall to blend symphonic, power, and traditional heavy metal elements into epic soundscapes. Since its inception, Empires Of Eden has released four critically acclaimed albums, showcasing collaborations with metal legends such as Udo Dirkschneider (U.D.O., ex-Accept), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Zak Stevens (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Rob Rock (Impellitteri), Mike Vescera (Yngwie Malmsteen, Loudness), and Jeff Martin (Racer X). Finnish Deathgrind band K.Y.M.I. has released their debut album “Liha”! The story of the album comes from real life experiences. As a man in the pressure of his daily life obligations and expectations desperately needs a little break so that he wouldn’t lose himself. All this emotional outburst is packed in a form of brutal deathgrind.
K.Y.M.I. is a one-man project by Kalle Ylönen, that will in the future also produce Viking jewelry and other artistic craftwork under the name K.Y.M.I.paja (smithery). Tuukka Ojansivu, a strong supporter of the project, is responsible for arranging the songs and handling most of the recording production for the upcoming album LIHA. The vocal recording, mixing and mastering of the album was done by Pasi Löfgren at Inka Studios.
Whisky Of Blood isa band born from the desire to return to the roots of 80s rock describing their sound as: rock’n’roll, full of melodies, powerful and funny. Now it’s the time to announce the release of the first single called “Crazy Zone” off their next album “Diablesse of Revolution” feat. Italian powerhouse label Go Down Records has exciting news to announce, as the classic MASTICA album ‘(12) Treize Cigarettesis’, originally released twenty years ago in 2004 and on CD only, will be exclusively re-released on October 18th.
MASTICA’s ‘(12) Treize Cigarettes’ is an album that revives the vibrant sounds of the Sixties with its use of Mellotron, Hammond organs, and psychedelic guitars. Recorded between 2003 and 2004, it was originally released exclusively on CD. This album stands out as an outsider from its era, merging Blues with Hard Rock in a way that’s direct and energetic. The setlist is packed with anthems, featuring early classics like “Gente”, “I Need You”, “Viola”, and “Mistico”, alongside sweeping unreleased tracks such as “Con Me”, “Cadillac” and “Vivo”.
The lyrics range from psychedelic and raw to lighthearted and romantic, reflecting the band’s formative and emotional experiences. In 2024, twenty years after its initial release, the album will debut on LP for the first time in a remixed and remastered edition via Go Down Records. MASTICA was created with the vision of a band that could deconstruct to rebuild. Their journey was marked by a lengthy evolution, shifts in the lineup, strained friendships, crucial listening experiences, and fortuitous meetings. The quintet aimed to break away from the mainstream trends of the late 90s, driven by passion despite limited resources. They started with a foundation of Proto-hard Psychedelic Rock and embraced an innovative approach. Their music is distinguished by a unique mix of mod and beatnik sensibilities, enriched with blues influences and 60s psychedelic sounds. Over the years, Mastica has established a distinct presence in the independent music scene. Their retro-inspired tracks radiate a punk sensibility and showcase unconventional lyrics that explore themes of love, conflict, personal growth, and friendship. After recording a series of demos and self-produced singles, Mastica released their debut studio album, (12) Treize Cigarettes, between 2003 and 2004. Additionally, in 2006, they put out Bitt in Garage, a compilation of demos and unreleased tracks, also through Teen Sound Records. Finnish rock band MOFFAT has released their eponymous debut album. The album’s central theme is the modern culture wars and the division in western societies. The songs deal with individualism, discrimination and indifference in many different ways, with the author’s own feelings and experiences as the central perspective.
MOFFAT is a rock band founded in Jyväskylä, Finland in 2020. Their music is mostly inspired by 1990s grunge, hard rock and progrock. The lyrics of the songs often deal with social themes.
