German stadium rockers THE NEW ROSES are set to touch hearts with their moving new ballad, “Hold Me Up“, from the highly anticipated studio album Attracted To Danger, out this Friday via Napalm Records! The new single is a deeply moving duet with Scotland-based vocalist Gill Montgomery (The Hot Damn!, The Amorettes). As Gill’s soft voice melts tenderly with Timmy’s rough timbre, the track succeeds as an emotional masterpiece of a romantic rock ballad.

Danish/Faroese IOTUNN Reveal ‘Iridescent Way’ Video/Single

Danish/Faroese progressive metallers IOTUNN today unveil “Iridescent Way” and its accompanying video. The moving acoustic track appears on the band’s second full-length album, Kinship, set for release on October 25th through Metal Blade Records.

IOTUNN‘s Kinship is a massive album arising from the primeval sea. It’s a mythological journey through eight tracks that span immense spheres both musically and lyrically, exploring the deep roots of human nature, its connection and disconnection with everything and everyone, and how our choices have always defined ourselves and the lives lived.

Comments guitarist Jesper Gräs on “Iridescent Way,” “It has been our wish for years to make an acoustic song. [Guitarist] Jens Nicolai [Gräs] and I have origins in playing classical guitar and this, combined with the folk tradition in the North as well as in the West as such, has been a huge gift and inspiration throughout the years. The intro and outro part came to me in a dream, and I woke up and played it. It laid a foundation for this song which is very special to the whole band, and we hold it very dearly.”

Jens Nicolai agrees, “It’s clearly a stand-out song on the album. Finally, we pulled ourselves together to do something like this. There’s no brave or out-of-box decisions here. Just us doing something that also feels natural to us.”

Kinship unfolds the story of a tribesman who is part of a prehistoric tribe. It tells the story of life’s manyfold conditions as themes of unity/disunity, light/dark, body/mind, nature/culture, good/evil, creation/destruction, and human/inhuman are unfolded throughout the album. The album shows IOTUNN unfold their musical worlds to their fullest scales to date which has been the dream achievement throughout the years creating the album.

“In my mind, Kinship is a grand work of heavy metal art, one that I am very proud to have taken part in creating,” notes drummer Bjørn Wind Andersen. “Musically, it encompasses so many different colors and emotions. It is, in many ways, the music to which I’ve always dreamt of contributing drums. It is the finest accomplishment this far, for me personally and for the band.”

The artwork and art pieces of Kinship were created by the ink and graphite illustrator and artist, Saprophial (Hammers Of Misfortune), with the design and layout created by art director Brian Ames at Metal Blade Records. Kinship was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios Denmark (Arch Enemy, Katatonia, The Black Dahlia Murder, Volbeat, Týr).

Viper Guitars is thrilled to announce the completion of an extraordinary guitar build for Viper Artist J Patrick McCosar of the renowned band Trip to the Morgue. Dubbed the “Hellfire,” this guitar is one of our most complex creations.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Hellfire features an alder body topped with a stunning buckeye burl, a maple neck, and an ebony fretboard. Its vibrant stained finish in shades of red, orange, and yellow mimics the essence of fire, while Euro red paint adorns the back. 26 frets with custom inlays, a cross burned into the neck, intricate carvings at the tremolo recess, and striking Hellfire graphics on the back enhance its unique character.

Equipped with cutting-edge hardware, including a Sophia 2:92 Pro+ tremolo with red accents, Graphtech ratio tuners, and Schaller strap locks, the Hellfire delivers both performance and style. The electronics feature EMG 85X pickups at the neck and EMG 81X at the bridge, both encased in eye-catching red covers, complete with a volume control, pickup selector, and a Killpot tone/killswitch combo. An additional button controls the stunning red LED lights behind the pickups and tremolo.

KERRY KING Release New Music Video ‘Where I Reign’ & Announce North American Headline Tour 2025

Following his recent tour with Lamb Of God and Mastodon and his first European headline tour earlier this year, Kerry King and his new band – drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), bassist Kyle Sanders (HELLYEAH), guitarist Phil Demmel (Machine Head), and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) – will hit the road for the twenty-eight date “North American Headline Tour 2025.” The tour is in support of King’s debut solo album, From Hell I Rise (RPM), which, according to the UK’s Kerrang!, ”The phrase ‘metal as f*ck’ may never be better applied.”  With Municipal Waste as Special Guest and Alien Weaponry supporting, the tour is set to launch in San Francisco on January 15, 2025, and wrap at House of Blues in Las Vegas on February 22. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 4 at 10AM local time and can be purchased HERE.  The complete itinerary is below. 

Also announced today is the release of King’s brand new music video for the album track, “Where I Reign.” Shot in black and white, the “Where I Reign” video was directed by Jim Louvau who also directed King’s videos for the album cuts “Residue” and “Toxic.” Said Louvau, “I wanted to capture the fury and the energy of the band in a live setting,” said Louvau, “an intensity that is matched from a visual standpoint that matches the intensity of the song and the energy that the band brings each and every night on tour, and I think we were able to do that. There are some still photos in the video that also show motion and energy, and I was really just trying to bring that energy to life in a live setting that is different from the other two videos that were done in the studio and were a little more in a controlled environment. So this video was definitely the guys’ being themselves and just showcasing what the band provides in a live setting.” Check out the “Where I Reign” music video HERE.

“Getting back on the road for the first time in five years wasn’t exactly like riding a bike, that’s for sure,” King aknowledged.  “I’ve never had that much time off, but the first tours with my new band – in the UK and Europe, and then in America with Lamb of God and Mastodon – were all total blasts. We’ll be headlining on this next tour, so we’re playing a longer set than we did with Lamb of God and Mastodon. We’ve got a little bit of a learning curve, so will start rehearsing the first week of November. And we might put an extra Slayer song into the set and learn a cover song or two.”
