Over the past two years, UK alternative metal act NEONFLY has made an extraordinary return to the live music scene, continuing to ascend to new heights after the privations of the pandemic. From supporting renowned bands such as Epica and Escape The Fate to headlining their first tour in Mexico and performing on festival main stages across Europe, the band has cemented its place in the international metal scene. Their journey culminated in a massive, unforgettable performance at Ripollet Rock Festival in Spain, August 2024, where NEONFLY performed to a crowd of nearly 10,000 fans in a prime-time slot.

This monumental show was a chance for the band to unleash their full live potential, and they spared no expense in making it one of their most remarkable performances yet. With the largest stage production in the band’s history, including Frederick Thunder’s signature fire-breathing act, two fire performers, and an incredible light display, the UK metal outfit delivered an electrifying experience.

Celebrating their moment in the spotlight, NEONFLY has unveiled a brand new music video for their acclaimed single ‘The Future, Tonight’. The video, with a song that also features a guest appearance by Björn Strid of Soilwork on the studio version, stands as a testament to the band’s relentless touring and dedication over the past two years, highlighting NEONFLY‘s unparalleled energy and the powerful connection they have with their fans.

“We’ve always said that Neonfly is a band that NEVER takes an audience for granted, and our performance at Ripollet Rock proves that once again“, guitarist Frederick Thunder states. “Despite having a prime slot and a massive audience, we didn’t just turn up and play – we meticulously planned this show for months, determined to deliver an experience beyond expectations. We made a personal investment to capture the entire show, both audio and video, with a team of cameras and a drone. What you’ll see is the result of our commitment to our craft and our fans – always striving to deliver the best possible performance.“

“The Future, Tonight” is the title track of the band’s latest studio album, released in 2021 via Noble Demon, available here: https://snd.click/neonfly

Looking ahead, NEONFLY has big plans. The entire audio and video from Ripollet Rock has been recorded for a potential live CD/DVD release in 2025. In the meantime, the band will take a short break from touring to focus on writing and releasing new material in the coming year.

NEONFLY are:
Willy Norton – Vocals
Frederick Thunder – Guitars
Paul Miller – Bass
Declan Brown – Drums

Melodic metal rising stars THE LUCIDIA PROJECT proudly present the lyric video for their latest track “Requiem.” This evocative song is featured on their critically acclaimed EP of the same name, released under the Wormholedeath label.

Delving deep into the tumultuous waters of human connection, ‘Requiem’ by The Lucidia Project explores the intricacies of a profoundly toxic friendship or relationship that Chase grappled with. Laden with emotional depth, this track almost transcends into a realm of spirituality, as it chronicles the necessity of relying on a higher power to navigate through such challenging circumstances.

The Lucidia Project’s signature blend of haunting melodies, powerful riffs, and poignant lyrics are on full display in “Requiem,” making it a must-listen for fans and newcomers alike.

Founded 2022 in Fargo, ND, The Lucidia Project blends alternative metal with symphonic, doom, and progressive rock. Their debut demo featured songs like “In the Fray” and “Lights Out.” In 2023, their “Requiem EP” further developed their sound, gaining press attention and radio play.

Adding Chris Polasky and Daniel Williams in 2023, they released “Soul Killer,” showing an evolved sound. In 2024, they re-released the EP and single under Wormholedeath Records and welcomed drummer Bruce Reisenauer. Both releases were co-produced and mastered by Danny Meyer at Sunway Studios in Germany.

The Lucidia Project’s lineup is currently comprised of
Chase Baldwin (vocals/pianos/arrangements)
Benjamin Jacobs (bass/guitars)
Daniel Williams (guitars)
Chris (David)
Polasky (guitars)

THE GRAMMERS Unleash New Energetic Music Video ‘Time To Grind’

Finnish classic rock band THE GRAMMERS traveled to Rockfield Studios in Wales to record their eighth album in the footsteps of mammoths. Now the album, named after the studio made famous by Queen and Rush, is previewed again with ‘Time To Grind’, the last single and video from the album. The track is a straightforward rock song with a catchy chorus supported by an energetic music video shot by Jerry Ylkänen – all you need in under 3 minutes.

The upcoming album was mainly recorded live and on analog in Monmouth, Wales, and many top international mixers and professionals eventually participated in its making. The fifth track of the upcoming album represents the professional and versatile sound of the album. The song was mixed and co-produced by Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam, Ozzy Osborne, HIM) and mastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound in Nashville.

See Time To Grind music video on YouTube below, listen to the single on music services

The Grammers, founded in Säkylä, Finland in 1999, are the northern torchbearers of classic rock. The band is known as an extremely strict and uncompromising live act. The band’s strengths are based on the interpretation of Hannu Vainionpää – one of the most talented heavy rock vocalists in Finland, the highly refined and catchy composition work, and the virtuoso mastery of vintage instruments by its members.

Hannu commented on the recording process of the album as follows:
“Rockfield had a pretty magical atmosphere (even if it sounds cliché); a quiet enclosed yard, nice local people, the right kind of atmosphere that helped to focus on what was essential, i.e. making the record. It was nice to stay and watch the horses and cows in the pasture and play a little bit of billiards and table tennis on session breaks. All in all, the atmosphere was very homely. When I found out that I was going to sing to the same microphone that Ronnie James Dio sang – of course, it sent chills down my spine for a moment. That we are now part of a certain kind of great continuum. And I think you can hear it both on this first single and also on the whole album. It was a great time, a great session, good memories. And it really couldn’t have gone any better!”

The album is going to be released 4th of October and the 12″ vinyl is already on pre-sale worldwide.

Also participating in the sessions was cinematographer-director Petri Vilén, who is responsible for the earlier music videos and photos on the album. A documentary about the band’s journey is also being prepared.

Finnish metal band Autumn’s Grief releases a new single called The Inquisition on September 19th 2024. The track is taken from their upcoming third album ‘Dead Among The Living’ which is set to be released on October 25th 2024 by Inverse Records.

  • Single cover painting by Kris Olson (krisolsonart.com). Edited by Mikko Virtanen

“The Inquisition takes the listener into the middle of an emotionally painful scene. The storyteller has had to hide the truth at all costs, because its revelation could lead to disastrous consequences. However, the moment of reckoning inexorably approaches the narrator, who has resigned herself to her fate.

The Inquisition was the first song recorded for the upcoming Dead Among the Living album. In a way, it showcases many elements that are typical with this band’s music. There are historical references in the lyrics, and the mood of the song foreshadows very dark scenarios.” – The band’s vocalist Noora Virtanen says.
