ERADICATOR Release New Single And Video ‘Drown In Chaos’

ERADICATOR release “Drown In Chaos”, the next pre-release single from the forthcoming new studio album to be released on 20.09.2024 on Metalville Records.

“Drown in Chaos” is a pure thrash metal grenade. ERADICATOR plough through this fourth single from their album ‘The Paradox’ at a speed of 230. At around 3:30 minutes, the song is also the most compact track on the new collection. It kicks off with a precise guitar riff that is recognisable with a slight shuffle feel. Drummer Pitti enters with an underlining groove, which soon develops into a straight high-speed thrash beat. The vocals start with the first verse and the lines are shouted into the listener’s ear canals quickly, rhythmically and with cool variation. The chorus of Drown In Chaos is catchy – ‘Drifting Away – Out of the Light’! The first hook is followed by a break in the rhythm that merges with the vocal line and emphatically emphasises the words of the lyrics. A little later, the bridge deserves special attention before the second chorus begins. Here, the additional hook line connects the two parts of the track in a particularly striking way. The C-part is formed by the furious guitar solo, which is introduced by a short tempo break and oriental-suggestive sounds!

Lyrically, Drown in Chaos deals with the theme that we are all born innocent. Why do some people develop the insurmountable urge to see the world in flames? Is it the environment? Is it the genes? Or are some really inherently evil individuals? The fascination with fire and destruction was probably experienced by many as a child. The character sung about gives in completely to this urge and conjures up the metaphorical demons of chaos.

The cover artwork depicts this character. With a burning glass, a demonically grinning child ignites a model of the globe, symbolising what true evil is capable of. Diana Ampilohova created this image to visualise the lyrics of the song. The single, as well as the entire album, was mixed/mastered by Sebastian ‘Seeb’ Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx, Brainstorm) and produced together with Seba Stöber.

“The Paradox” is undoubtedly the most versatile album by thrashers ERADICATOR. It will be released in the year of the band’s 20th anniversary. The ten new songs deal lyrically with the contradictory nature of being human and present many musical facets, not only of thrash metal.

“The Paradox” bears the signature of ERADICATOR and shows their unbroken joy of playing. The band has now also made a name for itself live. However, the four guys from the Sauerland region in Western Germany are not afraid to refine and develop their new compositions stylistically.

The lyrical themes on “The Paradox” reflect the dichotomy and ambivalence of human action and thought.

Like its predecessor, the album was mixed and mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx, Brainstorm), who once again managed to give ERADICATOR an authentic sound. After 20 years, the four musicians know what they want to sound like and that’s exactly what “The Paradox” sounds like.

THE PROGRESSIVE SOULS COLLECTIVE Release New Single + Video ‘Teardrop’

(In the photo Florian Zepf)

Just a few months after the release of the very well-received second studio album ‘Sonic Rebirth’, the collective led by guitarist and producer Florian Zepf is back with a new, poignant version of the Massive Attack classic ‘Teardrop’. The song is the first single from the covers album ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’, which will be released by Metalville Records on 18 October.

With ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’, TPSC presents another exciting release.

The material consists exclusively of cover songs, all hand-picked and, as expected, located in the extended prog area.

The first recordings began some time after the release of TPSC’s debut album ‘Sonic Birth’, continued through the corona pandemic and were continued during the sessions for the album ‘Sonic Rebirth’. The songs selected were personal favourites of Florian Zepf, creative head, producer and guitarist of the collective. The aim was to pay musical tribute to bands and musicians from Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd and Toto, among others, who had a great influence on Florian.

From a conceptual point of view, ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ fits seamlessly into the sequence of previous TPSC albums. ‘Sonic Birth’ and “Sonic Rebirth” are both concept albums with a thematic reference to the interplay between human development and technology. Musically, the ‘Sonic Birth’ and ‘Sonic Rebirth’ motifs can be found in some of the cover songs now presented, so that the creative and musical connection between the TPSC albums is maintained.

As usual with TPSC, the line-up on ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ is once again something to be seen and heard

The production of the entire album is very organic and equally powerful. Engineer legend Elliot Scheiner, 8-time Grammy winner and known from his collaboration with legends such as Toto, Steely Dan and Eric Clapton, was responsible for the very soulful mix. Mastering was handled by Reuben Cohen from the Grammy-winning Lurssen Mastering Studio (Metallica, among others).

Due to its extraordinary song selection, ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ should take a special place in the hearts of fans of cultivated prog music by storm.

TRACK LISTING

1. The Old Medley (originally recorded by Genesis)
2. Teardrop (originally recorded by Massive Attack)
3. Endless Dream (originally recorded by Yes)

CANTERVICE Release New Album “Zero Hour” on September 27th

Zero Hour is upon us! CANTERVICE is ready to drop their bombshell debut album, out September 27th, available for pre-order now from FiXT.

CANTERVICE steps up with a dark vision of the dystopian future with Zero Hour. “We stand on the precipice of an era where the shadows of oppression grow larger with every passing day. The world as we knew it is gone. Someone hit the reset switch and there were those standing by waiting to take advantage of the chaos,” explains CANTERVICE. Using an electrifying fusion of metalcore, alternative metal, and hard rock, Zero Hour features ten metalcore/alternative metal tracks and is testament to CANTERVICE‘s ability to blend fierce energy with intricate musical compositions. Tracks like “The Masquerade” have already amassed over one million streams across all platforms since inception. The album is packed with powerful anthems that push the boundaries of metalcore, alternative metal, and hard rock. With synthesizers, thrashing guitars, pounding drums, and driving bass lines, CANTERVICE delivers a relentless sonic experience that is both innovative and intense.

Pre-Save: https://link.fixtmusic.com/zer0hour

Singles like “Doomsday” produced, mixed, and mastered by RIAA Gold and Billboard charting producer/engineer Cameron Mizell, best known for his work with Sleeping With Sirens, Memphis May Fire, I See Stars, and The Word Alive set a high standard for the album. “What I love most about the album is the experience it provides,” explains Cam Mizell. “Robert & his team did a fantastic job creating a theme/vibe/world that the listener can immerse themselves in. Futuristic & perhaps post or pre apocalyptic themes are carried throughout the album in a way that tells a much larger story. A relatable story. As you listen through & connect with Robert’s lyrics, you really start to feel that you are living in the world of CANTERVICE. My goal was simply to catch that vibe & amplify it  Big thanks to CANTERVICE & FiXT for having me on this album! It’s been a pleasure front to back. Enjoy!!!”

Other stand out compositions on Zero Hour include “Into The Dark” which portrays a character who descends into the depths of madness and isolation in a society on the brink of collapse; and “The Masquerade” which establishes its strength with a fierce layer of synthesizers, coupled with the thunderous rhythms, razor-edged guitar riffs, and brutal vocals; and alt-metal single “Blackout” described as an anthem for a rising generation picks up the dystopian-themed story from the citizens’ point of view. This debut album shines with CANTERVICE‘s unique blend of hard-hitting music and poignant lyrics, a perfect example of sonic story telling at its best. The band goes on to explain, “We’re now staring down the barrel of a future that threatens to annihilate our very humanity. We sacrifice privacy for convenience, freedom for the illusion of security, and our very lives are mirrored in cyberspace, available for anyone to exploit, whilst we’re too distracted by our modern vices to care. However, I stand before you to say that our destiny is not written in stone, but only if we stand not as victims, but as architects of our future. We must unite, and not under the banners that you see to the left and to the right, but as citizens of the Earth forging a new path together. Lift your heads and join us in bringing the dawn of a new era. We have worlds to win, and nothing left to lose. This is our new beginning. This is our Zero Hour.”

‘Zero Hour’  including the focus track “Artificial Minds,” drops on September 27th.

CANTERVICE is an American concept-based electronic rock project, its core concepts centered around a future dystopian world, plagued by a government that has assumed control over all technology and information. “We simply want to inspire curiosity in those who are open to questioning their reality.”

Formed in January of 2021, CANTERVICE was destined to be the solo/side project of Robert Matlock with only one release, “Void.” However “Void” quickly crossed 100,000 streams across all platforms and there was a growing fanbase demanding new music.
CANTERVICE released its second single “The Machine” in December of 2021 leading to them signing to independent multi-genre label FiXT in early 2022. The four piece has released a stream of well received singles “Doomsday,” “Blackout,” “The Masquerade,” “Where Do We Stand,” and “Into The Dark” as they gear up to release their first inaugural album, Zero Hour, set to drop in September of 2024. The line up currently consists of Robert Matlock lead vocals, Randy Methe on drums, Eric Knighton on bass, and Nick Malan on guitar.

“Freedom is an illusion, one created by those who’ve taken the concept of freedom, hijacked it, and then repackaged it into a commodity. We live in a world where our thoughts, feelings, and interactions are stamped with a bar code and sold to the highest bidder. We are all victims of informational and psychological warfare on a day-to-day basis, and our perception of reality has become nothing more than what those wishing to play God have created for us. We belong to them now, and we allowed it to happen. We voted for it, invested in it, and as we descended into a state of Stockholm syndrome, we traded what rights we had left for security, to protect us from the same system that they created. It’s a system created for a single purpose, to ensure that we always will need them. Society has become brainwashed and sedated, slowly entering into a slumber of which there is no return. This was the plan from the beginning, the wheels are in motion and they are making their move. Now the question is, what will we do to stop it?”

STEVE LOUW Releases New Single + Video ‘Cruel Hand of Fate’ Feat. Joe Bonamassa

Legendary South African blues rock, roots, Americana, rock guitarist and singer songwriter, Steve Louw released his new double album Between Time on Friday September 6th.

Released as a 2-CD digipack, double vinyl, & digital, the album is available from https://orcd.co/SteveLouwBetweenTime.

To coincide with today’s release of Between Time, Louw has released “Cruel Hand of Fate” featuring Joe Bonamassa; the fourth single taken from the new album.

Watch the official music video “Cruel Hand of Fate” via YouTube HERE.

“Before highways and cars people travelled by foot, horse and then train if you could afford it, or of you could jump on board,” says Louw about the new single “Cruel Hand of Fate.”

Continues Louw, “Trains have a mystery to them, their rhythm coming from way off and then fading into the future. As a kid I used to put coins on the train tracks and feel the warm squashed coin in my hand as the train clacked away.”

“The song is about a traveling musician who feels that his time is running out. He needs to jump a ride to see his love one last time. The song has the rhythm of the train tracks and a nod to the journey we are all on.”

Joe Bonamassa plays a beautiful country style solo which fits right in with the mystery behind “Cruel Hand of Fate.” Using a Fender Telecaster B Bender guitar, an invention which by moving the guitar’s bridge conjures a pedal steel effect, creates a counterpoint to the song’s brooding slide guitar.

“Steve Louw and I have been making records for many years now. When I introduced him to Joe Bonamassa in Vienna more than a decade ago, they got along very well. When Steve had the opportunity to invite Joe to play on his records, Joe was enamoured with Steve’s style and was happy to be a part of it. I think Joe has now played on three or four of Steve’s albums, and it’s always a thrill for us all. It’s a meeting of minds.” –  Producer, Kevin Shirley

“Between Time came out wonderfully. I truly love the album.”  –  14 x Grammy Award winning mastering engineer – Bob Ludwig

Louw’s new album, Between Time, arrives decades into a long career, stretching back to the 1990s, when Louw partnered with South African record producer Kevin Shirleywhile fronting Big Sky, his vehicle to acclaim in his native South Africa.

Louw broke back into the music scene rousingly with his 2021 solo album Headlight Dreams, which Shirley helped push into existence, telling Louw after a decade of silence that it was time for him to make another record. He assembled a crack band, including keyboardist Kevin McKendree (John Hiatt), drummer Greg Morrow (Billy Gibbons), bass player Alison Prestwood (Buddy Miller), guitarists Rob McNelley (Hank Williams Jr), and Doug Lancio (Bob Dylan).

Headlight Dreams received solid reviews and earned him his third South African Music Award nomination. Thunder and Rain followed hot on its heels, a rich and natural album of muscular folk and insistent rock, a blend that Louw has refined throughout his career.

With Between Time, he explores those moments that fall outside the strict constructs of time with songs that have past, present, and future, while using imagery that’s both timeless and present. Cut live in the studio with his same band; the music has a transcendent quality, a chemistry that blends craft and inspiration into something mystical.

The stars align on three songs recorded back-to-back on the same day. The heartfelt “Killers”, where ‘Killers with numbers not names, came killing across the plains’, flows into, ‘In the Badlands, sand turned to dust, outsiders stand, steel turned to rust’, on the driving “Giants Walk The Land” (co-written with Midnight Oil’s Jim Moginie), and to a new beginning on “Time to Get On,” ‘As we face to the sun, it’s time to get on’.

Hearing the band discover the inherent passion and tenderness within the songs is part of the pleasure of Between Time. Their chemistry is evident on the low-down shuffle of “Do Me Good” and the country honk of “Alibi.” They swing hard on “Get Real Gone” and ratchet up the tension on “Flowers on The Graves of Doves,” a ringing, roiling number that conjures the mystery of early R.E.M.

You feel the band as much as you hear them, as on “Highway to the Sun,” the eight-minute exit to the 20-song collection. Louw is as much a member of the band as he is its leader. His steady, propulsive guitar playing providing as much of a connective tissue as his unguarded voice.

Added to that is Jim Moginie, whose eclectic guitar sound and creative force evoke the natural world’s power on “Giants Walk The Land,” and Hammond maestro Lachy Doley, who teases out the reassuring comfort lurking within “Streets of Rain.”

Between Time is a record filled with compassion and heart, a defining album for an artist who has consistently delivered great-sounding music over several decades.

Steve Louw – Biography

Steve Louw (born 16 September 1955) is a South African musician and singer-songwriter who specialises in album rock, blues rock, country rock and Americana music. He was born in The Hague and has been active as a musician since 1981. He was inducted in the South African Rock Hall of Fame in 2003.

Louw, who was born Stephen Geoffrey Louw, learnt to play the guitar after being inspired by the music of Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, and Neil Young, and formed his first band, Atlantic Rose, while in high school in Cape Town in the late 1960s. While a student at Stellenbosch University in the 1970s he became involved in the local music scene, playing his own songs in various line-ups.

His career as a professional musician began in the early 1980s when he formed the band All Night Radio with fellow former Stellenbosch University students Nico Burger (guitar) and Rob Nagel (bass). The group recorded two albums – The Heart’s the Best Part (1984) with US producer John Rollo, and The Killing Floor (1986), on which Louw began a partnership with producer Kevin Shirley that continues to this day.

Louw then formed the band Big Sky and in 1990 released their debut album, Waiting for the Dawn, again produced by Shirley. The album arrived just as South Africa began moving away from apartheid rule and the group’s music helped soundtrack a decade of positive revolution. The title track is today considered a South African rock classic. Big Sky released another five albums over the next 15 years: Horizon (1995), Going Down with Mr Green (1997), Best of the Decade (1999), Beyond the Blue (2002) and Trancas Canyon (2008); as well as the concert DVD Heart and Soul, filmed at Cape Town’s Little Theatre in 2008.

Louw and Big Sky achieved considerable success in South Africa with sell-out tours and several major radio hits including “Kathleen”, “Mr Green”, “One Cut With A Knife”, “Strange Room” and “Diamonds and Dirt”. In 1996 the band won the FNB South African Music Award for “Best Pop Music Performance” and “Best Rock Album” for the album Horizon.

In 1998 Big Sky opened for US singer-songwriter Rodriguez on his triumphant debut tour of South Africa, with the musicians in the band also backing the US artist. The tour is chronicled in the 2012 Oscar-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man.

Louw gained an international profile after he collaborated with Brian May (Queen) and Dave Stewart (the Eurythmics) on the track “Amandla”, recorded for the 46664 Aids awareness project inspired by the work of Nelson Mandela.

In 2021 Louw returned with the album Headlight Dreams, produced by Shirley, and recorded in Nashville with crack studio musicians and featuring a guest appearance by US guitar legend Joe Bonamassa. The album has received critical acclaim and the first single, “Wind in Your Hair”, has become a popular Spotify hit.

Louw released his sophomore solo release Thunder and Rain on November 11, 2022, through BFD. The album was produced by Kevin Shirley and features Joe Bonamassa and Doug Lancio.

On September 6th, Louw will release his third solo album Between Time, produced by Kevin Shirley.

Dive into the darkest realms of the human psyche as BENIGHTED, the French purveyors of brutal death metal & grindcore, unleash their tenth full-length album Ekbom in April 2024. The madness that has defined their discography continues with this radical soundtrack to the twisted times we inhabit.

Born from French Death and Black metal bands DISHUMANIZED, DARKNESS FIRE, and OSGILIATH, BENIGHTED emerged in 1998 with a mission to explore a more brutal, heavy, and modern form of musical expression. The impact of their first self-produced and self-titled full-length album in 2000 transformed BENIGHTED from a side-project into a main act, quickly amassing a devoted fan base. Subsequent albums like Psychose (2002), Insane Cephalic Production (2004), Identisick (2006), and Icon (2007) further cemented their visceral, skull-breaking sound into extreme death metal history.

After a detour into the realms of Necrobreed in 2017, BENIGHTED celebrated their 20th anniversary by capturing the live madness with Dogs Always Bite Harder Than Their Master in 2018.

With Obscene Repressed, they once again took sadistic pleasure in pushing the boundaries of brutality, delving into the disturbed mind of little Michael. His relentless battle against demons, fueled by unresolved oedipal issues with his mother, provided a grotesque tableau for BENIGHTED‘s sonic butchery. Not content with merely slaughtering everything in their auditory path, BENIGHTED crafted thematically explorative pieces, each turn in their music revealing new layers of horror and despair.

As the relentless journey continues, BENIGHTED is set to unleash Ekbom in April 2024, an album that draws inspiration from the nightmarish ‘Ekbom syndrome.’ This rare neurological disorder, also known as Delusional Parasitosis, forms the thematic core of the upcoming release. A feeling of having a vile concoction of parasites, worms, and insects crawling under your skin is an apt description of what BENIGHTED have to offer on this newest release. The auditory assault mirrors the repulsive sensations of the syndrome, a visceral and unsettling journey into the abyss of the human mind.

Madness reigns yet again, this time intertwining with the haunting echoes of Ekbom syndrome. Brace yourselves for another mind-shattering chapter in the BENIGHTED saga as they continue to carve their niche in the putrid annals of extreme metal, leaving a trail of sonic disgust in their wake.

Get ready to feel the earth shake! Georgia-based metal outfit, BLESS THE DEAD, is back to deliver another sonic assault with their latest single, “Slip Away.” The track, a blistering dose of Southern groove metal, is taken from their album We Create This. “We Create This” is available now on all major streaming platforms: orcd.co/wecreatethis

Known for their thunderous drums, bone-shaking bass, and searing guitar riffs, Bless the Dead once again showcases their signature sound on “Slip Away.” Coupled with raw, gritty vocals, the song delves into the raw chaos and realities of everyday life.

Since their formation in 2013, Bless the Dead has been making waves in the metal scene. Their previous album, Boars Nest, introduced their music to a wide audience. With a growing fanbase and a reputation for high-energy live shows, the band is poised to take their career to new heights.

“Slip Away” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
