THE XCERTS Announce New Album “i think i want to go home now”, Out July 10th

Brighton-based and Aberdeen-originating alt-rockers THE XCERTS are excited to announce their much-anticipated new album, ‘i think i want to go home now,’ out on July 10th via FLG.

In addition, the band also shares the album’s latest single and arguably their heaviest release to date, the fuzzed-out, fast-paced “pretty ugly.” Written during a period of intense personal strain, the track channels a sense of anger and frustration, with vocalist Murray Macleod confronting both internal struggles and external pressures, lashing out at criticism while processing deeply personal experiences.

Speaking on the single, Macleod shares:

“A nod to ‘Scatterbrain’ but also heavily inspired by UK post hardcore bands like Kids Near Water and Tribute to Nothing whilst pushing the sound forward. Lyrically, it’s comically brutal. The vocals are borderline incoherent but that was intentional. Another emotion I haven’t put in a song for a very long time is anger and at the time I found myself feeling very angry at the world. So this song takes a swipe at people who were criticizing the band during a period when my family was going through a lot”

He continues, “The second verse is about my father and what he was going through after his cancer diagnosis. I reference the machinery that cut out my dad’s tumour, the Da Vinci XI, and also Van Gogh. ‘Maybe I’ll splatter my brains against the wall, then you can all dissect the art, I’ll do one better than Van Gogh and cut em both off.”

Macleod concludes, “The song is heavy in sound and heavy with emotion, so it was important to say something a bit left field because that’s what happens when you’re having an internal meltdown.”

An undoubted career highlight long-player, the remarkably consistent and immediate songs on ‘i think i want to go home now’ are sonic manifestations of the mutual support and friendship that carried the band through a particularly turbulent period, including Smith’s mother passing away and Macleod’s dad facing a cancer scare.

The new album also sees the band reconnecting with the raw urgency that defined early releases ‘In The Cold Wind We Smile,’ ‘Scatterbrain’ and ‘There Is Only You.’ Intriguingly, there are a number of stark similarities to that very first record. Smith had lost his father before they made that one, and Macleod had gone through a devastating break-up. To say that history has repeated itself would undermine the emotional gravitas of these latest life experiences, but the band found it hard not to draw comparisons between then and now.

Alongside the album announcement, the band also share news that they will perform a full run-through of ‘i think i want to go home now’ at their 2000 Trees Festival set, a festival and community they have returned to numerous times over the past 20 years and which has become something of a spiritual home for the band. In addition, they will appear at Arbroath Festival and embark on a run of dates with old friends Twin Atlantic in June. A full list of live dates can be found below.

“It was really time for us to band together and celebrate our friendship,” says Macleod, speaking further on the album. “We’re so proud that we’re still doing this, because we started the band 23 years ago. It’s astonishing really. This really is the purest XCERTS record there’s been since the first one. We dug really deep to discover what the defining sound of our band is and bled it all out”.

The power and strength of THE XCERTS, both musically and personally, in the face of adversity is once again abundantly clear.

Following the recent release of their first single “Galactic Rebirth”, Swedish melodic metal force PRIME CREATION present a brand new music video today. The band now unveil the title track of their forthcoming studio album, “Souls Of The Fallen”, offering a deeper glimpse into the sonic and thematic core of the record. Slated for a release on June 26, 2026 via ROAR – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music, the album pre-sale is available here: https://primecreation.rpm.link/soulsPR

With the premiere of the title track “Souls Of The Fallen”, PRIME CREATION dive into darker and more intense territory, both musically and lyrically. The song captures the emotional weight of conflict and resilience, combining powerful riffs with a cinematic atmosphere that reflects the album’s overarching narrative.

“This song is about being pushed into war when there’s no longer any choice but to fight back,” the band reveals. “It focuses on finding inner strength and courage while facing darkness, rage, and moral conflict on the battlefield. There’s a strong sense of honoring fallen allies and carrying their sacrifice forward. Overall, it’s about enduring the tide of war, struggling with its cost, and still pushing toward survival and eventual triumph.”

Formed in Sweden in 2015, PRIME CREATION quickly established themselves as a driving force in modern melodic heavy metal. Rising from the ashes of the power metal band Morifade, the group brought together skilled and experienced musicians with a clear vision: combine technical precision with powerful songwriting and a contemporary edge.

Following their self-titled debut in 2016 and the critically acclaimed “Tears Of Rage” (2019), the band continued to evolve, culminating in “Tell Freedom I Said Hello” (2023), which gained strong international attention. Known for their dynamic live presence, PRIME CREATION have toured across Europe and shared stages with acts like Masterplan and appeared at festivals alongside Europe and W.A.S.P.

With “Souls Of The Fallen”, produced by Niels Nielsen (Ghost, In Flames), the band take another decisive step forward, pushing their sound into darker, more progressive territory while staying true to their melodic roots.

“Souls Of The Fallen” Tracklist:

  1. Galactic Rebirth
  2. Ghosts
  3. Blood Harvest
  4. Souls of the Fallen

ABYSMAL GROWLS OF DESPAIR Signs with Wormholedeath for Release of “Torn”

Wormholedeath welcomes UK funeral doom project Abysmal Growls Of Despair to its roster. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the one-man project led by the prolific artist Hangsvart, as he prepares to unveil his latest and most profound work, Torn, on June 5, 2026.

AGoD has been Hangsvart’s main project since 2013. It has explored a wide range of sounds but centered on ritualistic dark ambient, drone, and funeral doom. Inspired by bands like Funeral Moth, Ataraxie, Comatose Vigil, SUNN O))), Remembrance; by ancient civilisation and spirituality, despair, grief and madness. Hangsvart has always been straightforward with his own struggle with schizophrenia since 2007, being a main source of inspiration.

Torn is a solemn and uncompromising work. It unfolds slowly, with immense weight and emotional gravity, and leaves a strong, lasting impression. This is not an album you listen to. This is an album you enter.
This album of funeral doom metal explores the emotional landscape of a husband caring for his wife battling cancer. It is a testament to love and resilience. Trombones and tubas add weight and solemn grandeur, while 8-string guitars and the guttural voice entomb the listener.

Hangsvart commented: “I am very excited to sign with WormholeDeath for my album Torn. Even though I have released a dozen of physical albums with other labels, WormholeDeath is definitely a step above anything I’ve ever done before, allowing me to reach a much wider audience.”

Tracklist
1 – Prologue to Agony
2 – Growth
3 – Mourning Has Broken
4 – Torn

A.A. WILLIAMS Shares New Single & Video ‘Poison‘ from Upcoming Album

British artist A.A. WILLIAMS, acclaimed and defined by her musical interplay of fragility and force, unveils today the artwork and track list for her striking new full-length album Solstice, set for release on June 5, 2026 through RPM, alongside the video for her powerful new single ‘Poison’.

A.A. WILLIAMS says “’Poison’ is a song of learning not to fear freedom. Restraints slowly melt away, you push yourself, you long for more. Recklessness begins to consume reason, limitations are forgotten, euphoria and self-sabotage look like one and the same. Desperate to satisfy the craving you torch everything you’ve built. As the old world crumbles, and you rise, unafraid.“

Listen / Share ‘Poison’ on Digital Streaming Platforms

Immersed in a shadowy, dreamlike —or perhaps nightmarish— world where darkness meets elegance, A.A. WILLIAMS together with visionary collective Gruppa13 (renowned for their stunning work with artists like BEHEMOTH or IGORRR), crafted a hauntingly powerful visual suspended between vulnerability and something far more unsettling.

Play it and let it consume you:

Solstice finds A.A. WILLIAMS standing at the threshold between shadow and renewal, shaping songs that feel carved from storms and starlight. Known for her haunting vocals, cinematic dynamics and emotional clarity, WILLIAMS expands her sonic world with music that moves like a ritual through shifting seasons. Moments of stark intimacy open into surging crescendos as guitars swell and crash like gathering weather, anchored by a formidable sense of weight and scale. Strings glow with fragile warmth before giving way to waves of heavy distortion and all-encompassing catharsis, while her voice rises from quiet confession to commanding intensity.

Drawn from years of global touring, acclaimed collaborations and boundary-pushing reinterpretations, Solstice captures an artist in full command of her craft. The album is intimate yet immense, delicate yet thunderous – guiding listeners through darkness with both vulnerability and force toward a distant, resolute dawn.

About A.A. WILLIAMS

Having made her debut live appearance at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands off the back of a self-titled EP, A.A. WILLIAMS has since toured across the globe with the likes of CULT OF LUNA, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, SLEEP TOKEN and THE SISTERS OF MERCY, as well as establishing herself as a headline artist – including a show at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Hall inside London’s Southbank Centre.

Standout festival appearances have dovetailed with two album releases – 2020’s “Forever Blue” and 2022’s “As The Moon Rests” – both of which received widespread critical acclaim and placed A.A. WILLIAMS at the forefront of a wave of artists taking textured, epic and folk-rooted heavy music into new and progressive directions. A BBC session at the legendary Maida Vale Studios only bolstered her credentials.

Never one to rest on her laurels, she has also released a series of ‘companion pieces’: a collaborative single with Japanese post-rock titans MONO (“Exit In Darkness”); a solo covers collection recorded during 2020’s pandemic lockdown – “Songs From Isolation” – that drew praise from THE CURE’s Robert Smith and SMASHING PUMPKINS’ Billy Corgan; and perhaps most impressively, 2021’s arco, in which the multi-instrumentalist completely reworked her debut EP from rock instrumentation to string ensemble, drawing on her classical training to stunning effect.
