SKAM are back, and with a serious bang. This hugely talented band release their searing new rocker ‘Fate Of The Souls’ on 16th August, and this fabulous track will make see them making a huge impact across the board.

Formed in 2011, SKAM are a hard rock power trio band from the middle of England. They have a reputation for delivering no nonsense, gutsy, classic sounding contemporary British rock music. To date, the band have independently released 3 albums. ‘It’s Come to This’ (2011) and ‘Peacemaker’ (2014) were released to critical acclaim and the band established themselves as a live force to be reckoned with.

A drive to innovate inspired SKAM to release ‘The Amazing Memoirs of Geoffrey Goddard’ (2017), a concept record based on the diary entries of a time travelling RAF pilot. The songs were described as ‘gritty anthemic rockers’ by Classic Rock Magazine and the album received a number of 5 star reviews from the UK Music press. Lead single ‘Take it Or Leave it’ was voted as ‘track of the week’ by Classic Rock Magazine and has since been included on Earache Records ‘New Wave of Rock N Roll’ compilation vinyl. In 2021, broke into the Official UK Rock Charts with their ‘Intra’ EP hitting number 6. Part 2 ‘Venous’ went one better making it to number 5.

And now in 2024, the band returns with new single ‘Fate Of The Souls‘, taken from ‘From The Depths‘, their most eclectic and ambitious album yet. On this album they have pushed themselves into unknown waters, experimenting with everything from Metal to prog, to Acoustic balladry. The album is due for release in November.

KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD Releases Brooding New Single + Video ‘Long Way Down’

Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated preeminent blues-rock guitarist, has just unleashed his latest single “Long Way Down,” a smoldering track that stands out as one of the most intense moments on his upcoming album Dirt On My Diamonds, Volume 2 out September 20th via Mascot/Provogue Records. “Long Way Down” takes listeners on a deep dive into a moodier, more introspective side of Shepherd’s sound. With its gravelly textures and selective, searing guitar solo, “Long Way Down” is a testament to Shepherd’s mastery of less-is-more. “It’s the least flashy solo on the record, but it cuts deeper because of it,” Shepherd reflects.

Dirt On My Diamonds, Volume 2 picks up where Volume 1 left off, pushing the boundaries of modern blues-rock while staying true to its roots. Shepherd wrote the material at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, channeling the studio’s storied history into the DNA of the album. “The whole reason we went down to Muscle Shoals was to soak up the vibe that’s been left in that room for so many decades,” Shepherd reflects.

Forced to hold back new material for the first time in his storied career, Shepherd admits that keeping these latest songs under wraps has been tough. “They’re sounding great in rehearsals and we’ve been dying to get out there and play them,” he says. Now at last, the standard-bearer for 21st-century rock ‘n’ roll is ready to put the cherry atop the Dirt On My Diamonds project with Volume 2.

“These are two unique albums that stand on their own,” Shepherd considers, “but together, I think they make for such a compelling package. We’ve had tremendous success in my career and I’m so grateful for that. But even now, I still feel like there’s always more to explore musically. I just want to keep pushing the limits.”

He recently brought his Backroads Blues Festival to Artpark in Lewiston, NY, where fans got an electrifying preview of his new material. The festival, which continues to travel across the country, is just one part of a packed schedule for Shepherd this year. As the summer winds down, he is gearing up to join the all-star lineup of the Experience Hendrix Tour this fall. Kicking off on September 19th in Seattle, WA, the tour will see Shepherd bringing his fiery guitar work to cities across the U.S., including Spokane, Santa Rosa, and Las Vegas, where fans can witness his dynamic performances celebrating the legacy of Jimi Hendrix.

FILIPPA NÄSSIL Releases First Solo Album “American Diaries” on October 4th

Filippa Nässil (founder, songwriter and guitar player in Thundermother) spent two months and three weeks in the USA touring with Thundermother in the fall of 2022 supporting the band Scorpions. On off days from playing she wrote lyrics for what came to be her upcoming debut solo album “American Diaries”, that is set for release autumn 2024 via Despotz Records.. The album will contain both English and Swedish versions of all the tracks on the album. Her second single “Mount Shasta” is being eleased August 23, 2024.

She booked the studio in Skåne, Klippan, Sweden (Lemon Recording Studio) whilst still in the States and wrote the music for the album in one month after coming home and recorded it in December 2022 and mixed it in Medley Studios march 2023 in Copenhagen.

Filippa started Thundermother 2009, she studied music production and guitar before that. In 2022 she studied in distance at London Songwriting Academy and she thanks one of her teachers Shelly Poole for pushing her to do a solo album.

“American Diaries” is what it sounds like, her time in Chicago meeting her blues idol “Buddy Guy” and his family, she even got invited to his birthday party turning 86 years old. On “Buddy Guy’s Blues” she plays with his son “Greg Guy”. On “Green Fields Of Napa” she tells the story of getting accidentally high, eating food on a winery, on “Richmond, Virginia” about her favorite food mexican tacos called ‘pastor’, on “San Fransisco” when her boyfriend came to visit and the joy that brought, on “For Rudy”, she sings about her time in Texas, ending up on a night club and the new friends she made there. “Mount Shasta” is her personal favorite, high up in the mountains of north California, missing her love wishing she could share that beauty with him.

The album “American Diaries” is a map over the USA, but in songs written, played and sung both in Swedish and English versions of all the tracks, by Filippa Nässil.

Colombian GIGANTOPHIS Releases Debut Demo EP “Heretical Reborth”

After of three glorious years of Black metal, a band reached its power and forgot itself untill fall in oblivion. Here is the fertile soil to be born GIGANTOPHIS as one man band and roll out an arsenal of satanic inspiration rooted in old school essence.

With several resources at hand, the equipment and its qualities were propitious for the projected production and its dyes. With microphones manufactured in the 90’, a drum set and a guitar a home studio was established and several tricks more to dull and darken the sound.

Cover artwork was done by Giovanny Rodriguez. Debut demo titled “Heretical reborth” was released June 29, 2022. on all popular streaming platforms.

Leader of the project comments: “This album is all a compendium of creation and destruction, getting and lose“.

ERADICATOR Release New Single + Video ‘Beyond The Shadow’s Void’

ERADICATOR release “Beyond The Shadow’s Void”, the new single from the forthcoming new studio album to be released on 20.09.2024 on Metalville Records.

‘Beyond The Shadow’s Void‘ is not only the third single from the new ERADICATOR album “The Paradox”, but also the opening track of the thrashers’ sixth longplayer. The lines of the track were inspired by the reporting of significant misdemeanours by great artists and driven by the question of whether one can still consume the cherished art without hesitation. Long before Jon Schaffer of US metal pioneers ICED EARTH was involved in the storming of the Capitol in January 2021 and Til Lindemann used his position of power to pressure women into sexual acts, the master of morbid horror stories Howard Phillips Lovecraft was already surrounded by obvious xenophobic and anti-Semitic tendencies. The lyrics deal with the moral challenge that a reflective consumer of the art in question must face in this case. The special thing about it is that the lyrics are inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s writing style and choice of words.

ERADICATOR begin the song with an atmospheric rain backdrop that introduces the melancholic, clean guitar intro. The brute walls of guitars shatter the calm and the storm develops into a pounding headbanger. The anger with which the lyrics are spat at you drives the verses forwards. The patience to experience the approaching chorus is rewarded with a catchy melody and twin guitars with earworm potential. Until the last note, Beyond The Shadow’s Void builds up to a furious thrash metal thunderstorm.
The Kraken dethrones the master. For the illustration of this single cover, Bianca Rother used the depiction of the immortal monster god Cthulhu from Lovecraft’s stories. The single, as well as the entire album, was mixed/mastered by Sebastian ‘Seeb’ Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx, Brainstorm) and produced together with Seba Stöber.

“The Paradox” is undoubtedly the most versatile album by thrashers ERADICATOR. It will be released in the year of the band’s 20th anniversary. The ten new songs deal lyrically with the contradictory nature of being human and present many musical facets, not only of thrash metal.

“The Paradox” bears the signature of ERADICATOR and shows their unbroken joy of playing. The band has now also made a name for itself live. However, the four guys from the Sauerland region in Western Germany are not afraid to refine and develop their new compositions stylistically.

The lyrical themes on “The Paradox” reflect the dichotomy and ambivalence of human action and thought.

Like its predecessor, the album was mixed and mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx, Brainstorm), who once again managed to give ERADICATOR an authentic sound. After 20 years, the four musicians know what they want to sound like and that’s exactly what “The Paradox” sounds like.

Legendary Italian metal titans DRAKKAR have revealed the tracklist and cover art of the upcoming full-length album, entitled “Spread Your Wings”, which is set to be released worldwide starting September 27th via Punishment 18 Records. The artwork was created by Alessandro Bragalini (Ephyra, Eregion).
