LACABRA Sign with M-Theory Audio, Premiere Debut Single/Music Video ‘Fractured’

M-Theory Audio is pleased to bring you another promising new signing with LACABRA. Check out the group’s new single “Fractured” on all digital platforms, or check out the new video below.

From the second the band’s music hit our ears we knew that we were witnessing something special, and after seeing them live a few weeks later it only cemented those thoughts.  Their enthusiasm about the music and their future made this a no-brainer fit with M-Theory Audio, and we are excited to expose this band to the masses.  LACABRA is primed for big things and a name to be reckoned with in the metal world.

“We are extremely proud and honored to be a part of the M-Theory stable,” says vocalist Lance Neatherlin. “Thank you, Marco and Scott for believing in us and we are beyond excited to see where the upcoming years take us on this insane journey! We would also like to give a huge thank you to our fans! Thank you everyone for their support and here’s to the future! Cheers!”

The Seattle based metal outfit LACABRA, which rose from a previous band LOCISTELLER and out of the ashes of the Covid-19 pandemic, brings together the talents of Lance Neatherlin (Lead Vocals), Eric Snyder (Guitar/Vocals), Eric Weber (Bass), Michael Anthony (Guitar), and Richie Sather (Drums).  The LOCISTELLER line-up transformed into LACABRA minus founding member Didier Almounzi (Dragonforce, Destroyer 666).  Neatherlin and Snyder (also key members) knew this band was something special and couldn’t be wasted, thus went on to forge a more straightforward and punishing approach with the music.  All of them have been tried and tested in other bands, but it’s fair to say that in LACABRA they’ve caught lightning in a bottle.  The band’s eclectic influences range from traditional heavy metal, dark wave, black metal as well as 1990’s melodic death metal, which they interweave seamlessly throughout their songs in a unique and purely original way. Their live shows are crushingly heavy and intense with dueling lead guitars and stage presence that rival any band out there today.  Their performances and unique sound have garnered them a reputation as a must-see band in the Pacific Northwest (US) and beyond, having shared the stage with bands such as GOATWHORE, CRYPTA, DESTRUCTION, SWALLOW THE SUN, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, NERVOSA, and more.

The band just wrapped up a US west coast tour with French thrash outfit ANTHARES with a warm-up gig in Seattle coming up opening for GOATWHORE before embarking on a French tour with tourmates ANTHARES overseas in October.  Armed with new management at Extreme Management Group, the band has many plans in the works, between tours and their debut album coming in early 2025 via M-Theory Audio. Stay tuned for updates and prepare for this band to lay waste all over the planet!

We’ve got electrifying proof of that in the single “Fractured” that we’re premiering today through a powerful video. Lyrically, the song foretells a nightmarish future in which humankind’s own technological innovations become the agent of its downfall.  That grim conception is captured in the animated segments of the video created by Maria Nicheva-Wicklund (Ghost Ship Octavius, Beltfed Weapon), which were inspired by Neatherlin’s “disdain for technology and how it makes us desensitized and numb to events that should cripple the human heart,” and by his attraction to the work of Lotte Reiniger, a German film director and the foremost pioneer of silhouette animation.  The video also captures the intensity of LACABRA’S own live performances, and pairs extremely well with the turbocharged power and captivating dynamism of the song.

GOST‘s acclaimed Prophecy full-length, out now on Metal Blade Records, claimed multiple Billboard chart positions upon its first week of release, including #1 Electronic Albums, #14 Current Hard Rock Albums, #20 Top New Artist Albums, and more.

GOST exists in the dark crack between black metal and the most shadowy end of electronic music. Since the release of the Radio Macabre EP at the start of 2013, and the remorseless digital nightmare of their Skull debut album six months later, Texas-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and main-brain James Lollar has become an increasingly singular force in music. Far more aggressive and sinister than the synthwave he’s often grouped with, GOST is a harsh and unique digital nightmare that takes the listener right into the heart of the abyss.

Prophecy serves as Lollar’s most exhilarating and dangerous sounding work to date. It’s a record that perfectly reflects the horror and grim anxieties of a world beset with religious and political overreach, and progress, “being rolled back to the fucking 1950s.” Prophecy was recorded by Lollar alone in Texas during a burst of creativity at the end of 2022. Following the experimentation and more melodic touches of 2019’s Valediction, the record also acts as something of a return to older roots, to recapture the spirit of GOST.

From the industrial scrape of “Death In Bloom,” the doomy “Decadent Decay,” and the demonic pulse of “Golgotha,” Lollar welds together elements of pulsing synthwave, the otherworldly nastiness of black metal, and the pound and snarl of Ministry at their most unhinged to create a whole that sounds genuinely dangerous, somewhere between metal and a rave in Hell.

Prophecy is available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. Find ordering options at: metalblade.com/gost

EQUILIBRIUM Release New Song And Video ‘Gnosis’

Following the introduction of new singer Fabian Getto with 2023’s ‘Shelter’ and ‘Cerulean Skies’, EQUILIBRIUM return with their first new material of 2024.

‘Gnosis’, building on the bands unique blend of modern and folk metal, is released time for a slew of EU festival appearances over the summer. The band will be supporting SEPTICFLESH on their October-November EU run. All tourdates are listed below.

Founding member René Berthiaume states:
“We have worked the whole last year on new songs for Equilibrium and “Gnosis” will be the first one that we gonna share with the world. This year was a challenging but also very satisfying process since we had to go deep to find the ingredients that we truly want to use for our next chapter. I think the new songs are the most organic, earth-connected, emotional and epic tracks we have ever written. “Gnosis” delves into themes of ignorance, suffering, and transformation. The song speaks to the chaos that often accompany profound change, while also offering a glimmer of hope for new beginnings and enlightenment. The perfect song to initiate our new chapter!”

About EQUILIBRIUM:
By blending a furious modern metal sound with elements of traditional folk, Germany’s EQUILIBRIUM has created a distinctive sound that is enthralling and spiritually up-lifting.

Their longevity can be largely attributed to their willingness to grow and evolve, consistently exploring new sonic territories and revealing different sides of their artistry with each release. But the core of their appeal has remained consistent:  harsh metal presented with vast cinematic soundscapes that speak to the entire human experience.

Despite its often-dark tonality, EQUILIBRIUM’s music is meant to evoke feelings of hope and confidence.  They incorporate aspects of many different musical cultures, focusing on the things that unite us as people, rather than the things that define us.

WHERE’S MY BIBLE Release New Single + Music Video ‘Rahko’ from Upcoming Album

Finnish Where’s My Bible is set to release their long-awaited second full-length studio album KAVE on September 11th 2024. The third and last single Rahko is released today and a stunning music video can be seen HERE

LISTEN to Rahko on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/wmb-rahko

  • Composing and arrangement – Where’s My Bible
  • Lyrics – Jussi Matilainen
  • Recording and mixing – Pasi Löfgrén (recorded at Inka Studio)
  • Mastering – Soundspiral audio & Juho Räihä
  • Single cover art by Teppo Ristola Photography

Vocalist Jussi Matilainen Comments:
“First of all, I need to explain what ‘Rahko’ means. It is a malevolent night spirit from Finnish mythology that paints the moon black. Imagine if the moon is the only lantern in the dark that keeps the beasts at bay. What happens when even that light is taken away? ‘

Rahko’ and the other songs on the album are based on Finnish and Nordic mythology, which we use as metaphors. We focus on the dark aspects of the human mind and how they can take over. Rahko depicts the full power of the night’s horrors and the threat of dawn. The song gives a taste of what adrenaline-filled death/black metal from Where’s My Bible offers while maintaining melodicism. It also feels dangerous to write such songs because I always strongly empathize with them while creating them and try to infuse the emotional state into the music. I am pleased with the result and the way I used my voice brutally and diversely. And all of this is just a glimpse into the song and the overarching theme of the entire album, which unfolds like a story. I would love to share it all with you, but we need to arrange an interview separately so I can elaborate on the whole concept in detail.”

“’Rahko’ was the second to last song I wrote on the album. I had a feeling that the album need’s a fast and massive song where Jussi can also show off his talent. And when i started to record ideas at my home studio it was that magical moment as a composer when the whole song came out from one sitting as it is now.” Says guitarist Pasi Löfgren

Rahko Music video maker and the band’s drummer Teppo Ristola concludes:
“‘Rahko’ was the first video I got to make for our band. Creating it was an amazing experience, but also a significant challenge due to the tight schedule. The previous videos were made by the talented Olli Tiainen, who has been responsible for our earlier visuals. The videos for ‘Fenrir,’ ‘Creator Of Abyss,’ and the album’s title track are also his work. His incredible work set the bar high, but I hope we managed to bring our unique vision to this project.

We filmed in North Valkeala, in the landscapes of Repovesi National Park. It’s hard to get closer to a quintessential Finnish landscape than this.

The band had several ideas for the ‘Rahko’ video, so I tried to combine everyone’s thoughts into one cohesive piece. The song is aggressive, fast, and brutal, so I felt that quick cuts and a dynamic, expressive shooting style suited it perfectly, highlighting what the song is all about. Jussi also delivers impressive vocals, so it was great to support that visually, especially in the bridge section of the song.”

MORNE released their Engraved With Pain full-length last November via Metal Blade Records. Engraved With Pain is a moment of grim triumph, as rooted in Celtic Frost as in Ministry, still somehow extrapolated from the gods Black Sabbath and characteristic of no one so much as themselves. Spacious, crushing, darkly thoughtful enough to be progressive but never so indulgent as to lose sight of its core message, the offering was recorded with legendary producer Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts.

The stylistic pyroclasm of MORNE‘s bleak, extreme but reachable metal did not happen overnight. Since their 2009 debut album, Untold Wait, the quartet has made simple categorizations like “doom“ or even “metal“ laughable, and their latest and fifth full-length, fittingly titled Engraved With Pain, refines their attack to a level toward which even 2018’s To The Night Unknown could only hint.

Playing out across four chapters in forty-minutes, the album sees the veteran outfit crafting rhythmic tension and lung-squeezing atmospheres as Gassan emits layered guttural shouts that speak to inner and outer crises. Engraved With Pain makes its title believable, and from its eponymous opener through “Memories Like Stone,” “Wretched Empire,” and “Fire And Dust,” it carries humanity individually and collectively through the realities of its decline.
